A friend of mine is about 20 miles East of Elkhart and tornado sirens activated. I haven't heard back from her if there was an actual tornado. I know it's not "next door", but as flat as that area is, you might have seen a stray lawn chair fly past.
Most Indiana counties will activate the sirens if there is a T-WATCH AND SEVERE T-STORM warning at the same time.

There is one area in Fort Wayne that is without power after this morning's storms rolled through.

Good evening. It's becoming cloudy, and it's cooled down to 95, from 100. This is the first time in recorded history the temperature has officially reached one hundred degrees here. It's been 99 many times, with humidity to match, but it's never hit the century mark before. I guess I'm happy it's only 82 inside.

If anyone doubts whether you can make biscuits using an air fryer:…

I had one of these in the 90's. Friend used it to bake a birthday cake in it once. Because the fan is in the middle and is pretty strong, it caused a vacuum and made the cake rise up in the middle. It ended up looking like Mt. Fuji! haha.

But it made biscuits like your air oven.

On tips: am I the only one who thinks that tips should never be added as a "mandatory gratuity" to restaurant checks? The whole point was to reward for good service, or so I thought...
I believe that as well. They are getting paid a wage. If it's too low for them, then they need to move on. Gratuity should be incentive to do a better job instead of having entitlements. Japan doesn't do tips.

Is that an UPS on the floor?
Yup! I get too many momentary power glitches here (we get lots of thunderstorms) to not have one on the 3D printer. In theory it's supposed to pick up where it left off if there's a power failure, but unfortunately, it has a faulty theory/reality interface.

Hence, the UPS.

It'll probably only last ten minutes or so, but that's enough to handle the usual stuff.

Remember the brain on drugs info-mercial?

This is the same for DC on DCC. I have a dead siding that I was going to use for a DCC programming section. Just haven't wired in the auto-switching board yet. Anyway, I store locos and stock on it. I had a DC SD40-2 sitting there and was backing up some cars on it while operating DCC. What I didn't realize is that the Kato passenger cars run a power pick up strip the entire length of the car that ties all wheels to a bus. Well, that transfered DCC power to the dead track. I heard a buzzing/squealing noise and by the time I realized where it was coming from, the SD40-2's brains got fried. Smelled the awesome scent of burnt electronics, my favorite. Luckily, no real damage was done yet and the light board tested fine.

Oooops! Passenger cars can do that, in fact freight cars can do that as well, especially since all mine have metal wheels and they are stopped right at the electrical end of the siding. This is why my programming track is on a level below the layout.

I earned a culinary degree, then a Hospitality Management BS, then worked under European chefs, then ran kitchens in private clubs, then got out of it after my first year of marriage. Cooking is like any other trade. (surgery, plumbing, law, etc) It becomes second nature and you never really forget how to do it.

Our anniversary dinner.

Linguine aux crevettes sauce homard or linguine with prawns & lobster sauce.

You guys ready to crash his anniversary dinner? OMG!

BTW, Happy Anniversary!

I bought an imperial coach but it comes with a BS coupler that is incompatible with anything I have. It was made specifically to be added to a E655 Nagomi train. In fact, it has upgrade parts for that train to add the flags to the front. Well, that train is not on my want list and in my search, I did find out that the EF58 did wear the flags at one time. I still don't have a solution for the coupler, but in the meantime...
