I had Egg Salad for dinner. My wife said we had eggs that would expire next week. "Waste not want not"Tomorrow my friend. It is 'Fish Friday'.
I always buy two dozen jumbo eggs, and we always end up eating Egg Salad. The good news is I love my wife's Egg Salad! A few slices of fresh yellow onion, with the Egg Salad on a Schimdt's 6/4/7 roll, eggcellent!
Gino's was revived in 2010 and there are still two of them here in Baltimore. But they are different from what they used to be. The new Gino's Burgers and Chicken has placed itself upscale of the earlier Gino's. The new restaurants serve its burgers to order from fresh beef. They also have chicken sandwiches, hand-cut french fries and hand-spun milkshakes. Currently the only locations are in Towson, MD and Glen Burnie, MD. Both suburbs of Baltimore.Never heard of that one or even seen one in all my travels unless I just never noticed.
They still around?
The original Gino's was mostly in Baltimore and later spread throughout the mid-atlantic region. They did expand to Massachusetts and Connecticut, but they didn't prove to be popular. The same was true when they tried to expand into the mid-west and other regions.I think Gino’s is or was an east coast thing. I never heard of them until we moved to Mass.
With the encouragement and partial financial support of Colts owner Caroll Rosenbloom, Gino Marchetti joined a fast-food restaurant business with Colts teammates Alan Ameche, Joe Campanella, and Louis Fisher. In 1959, Ameche-Gino Foods Inc. opened its first Gino's. The business grew, began to franchise, and would eventually become known as Gino's Hamburgers. It was a successful Mid-Atlantic regional fast-food chain and had 313 company-owned locations when they were sold in 1982 to Marriott International, which abandoned the name in favor of their Roy Rogers restaurants.
Gino Marchetti was one of the greatest defensive ends in the history of the NFL and a huge star in Baltimore. But his name didn't carry much recognition outside of Baltimore. He played 13 seasons for the Baltimore Colts.
The first Gino's was opened in Dundalk, Maryland, just outside Baltimore; it got its official name in 1959 when the owners Joe Campanella, Louis Fischer, and Alan Ameche invited Colts' captain Gino Marchetti to become a partner.
