I have a friend who is the same way with his cars and motorcycles.

Has been saying for 30 years he was going to restore them. Hasn't touched them and never will!
I know it was Mac's post - when going East from that car lot, there are a couple of rock quarries that have really old cars/trucks up the bank along SR200. They have been there for ages, 1st seen them when we got to Libby - 20+ years ago and were really old and rusty then. Have always wanted to stop and ask the 'why' part but haven't.

Ozzy was a one unique guy. I've listened to him off and on throughout my life. I can't say I was ever a "fan", in terms of actual fandom and tracking his career and everything about him. But I've always liked the stuff he was involved in, whether Black Sabbath or his own stuff.

Paranoid and Crazy Train are two that come from the top of my head.

One thing he did somewhat recently was a collab with Post Malone. Post Malone is a California singer who now does more country but was doing more of his own rock/pop/rap stuff. He lives in Utah now (at least a good portion of the time and has his own signature Raising Cane's restaurant here in Utah -- he helped design and decorate it). I've never been a big Post Malone music fan, but I became a big Post Malone the man fan after seeing him on Good Mythical Morning a few times and hearing and reading about his interactions with people he meets, and what a decent guy he is. He's also done some insightful interviews and is just a likable guy (once you get past his appearance).

Anyway, his collab with Ozzy about 5 years ago is something I like and is probably one of the few Post Malone tunes I recognize. I don't even know one of his songs from the past few years...

Ozzy was 76. He lived a very eventful and full life, and was struggling with health issues. He was released from his mortal body and is now rocking away with those who've gone before. I'm happy for him. No more physical suffering. I give my condolences to his family, who've lost a spouse, a father, a friend.

Alice Cooper gave a nice and respectful "eulogy" for Ozzy after hearing about Ozzy's passing. (Google it to find it -- I read it on FB)

RIP Ozzy.

Good afternoon. Fresh from a shower and a nap I am regenerated in this gosh awful heat and humidity. I walked out of the layout build session at 1pm and the humidity just slammed me enough to take the breath away. How you guys in Texas and Florida handle this is beyond me. I will take zero with sun abpnybday over this.

Dinner is out tonight and then a trek to the Ice Arena to watch the grandson play hockey.

Some pictures from the building session this morning. I am in blue

John and I got down to the end of this part of the Penisula. Marc on the left with the headlamp was putting in bus wires and terminal blocks to the fat right of this picture

The 13 holes in the cross member. Various bus lines to be pulled through there. The layout will be controlled with Digitrack power but it’s through something called LCC control which also handle the full CTC signal system.

Everything in this drawing was done this morning starting at 9 till noon. I then went to help the wiring person in the far aisle

Today’s crew. The sign up sheet had 5 then this morning it was 6 but only 3 plus John the owner showed up. John is taking the group photo as a selfie. We were a happy Crew this morning

Above. I had to crawl under and get a board. Not only do I look like I’m dying the knee pain was real! Plus the soon to occur head knock didn’t help

Marc started off in a far away room with connecting wires. We sort of let Marc roam on his own. (Too many soldering flumes in the past?.?) not really as Marc is one of the nicest guys you can meet plus he is my main chauffeur to all things model railroading

@Marlin39 if he puts that Triple Lock up, let me know how to reach the shop. Had to sell mine some years ago and would love to have another one.
I'm will be in charge of posting stuff on the internet IF the seller agrees to the shop owners price. Everything I post will start at a penny, no reserve, and run 2 weeks.

There are a TON more smiths in the other cabinets. The home we were at is owned by a retired millwright. Home & garage are spotless. He fabricated all his locking cabinets mainly out of 12 and 14 gauge sheet metal. The welds look machine made they are that perfect.

Good evening all. The showers have stopped. A brighter evening ahead.
All the grandchildren are now on six weeks school holiday. They all move up one year next term.

Before that we are now hearing -------- (I know have posted this before, but ---)

Can I Sleep At Grandma's Today?

Mom, can I sleep at Grandma's today?

I heard on the bus this morning.....

When I managed to turn around to see the child, that made me go back to the past with one sentence...

She was no longer within my reach.

I travelled far...

When did time go by and make us adults full of boring priorities?

We fight everyday for something that we don't know if it's what we really want.

When in fact Grandma's house is what everyone would need to be happy.

Grandma's house is where the hands on the clock take a vacation with us and spend the minutes unhurriedly arriving.

Grandma's house is where simple pasta and homemade bread get different flavours. Delicious...

Grandma's house is where an innocent afternoon can last for an eternity of games and fantasies.

Grandma's house is where cupboards hide clothes and mysterious tools.

Grandma's house is where closed boxes become chests of secret treasures, ready to be unveiled.

Grandma's house is where toys rarely come ready. They are invented on the spot.

Grandma's house, everything is mysteriously possible. Magic happens and without worries.

Grandma's house is where we find the remains of our parents' childhood and the beginning of our lives.

Grandma's house, on the inside, is the address of our deepest affection, where everything is allowed.

That luxury no longer belongs to me, unfortunately. It will live with me only in memories.

Even so, if I could place an order now.... any order of all orders in the world, I would order the same thing....

Can I sleep at Grandma's today?
Ah, got something in my eye...

That's not a model railroad, it's a freaking rail empire!

I don't know if I could take the sub zero upper midwest winters anymore than I could the Florida summers. Moderate temps, little snow, and low humidity are some of the things keeping us in Oregoniastan.

As motivated by Larry... :)

Finished it finally. Took a lot of breaks to keep from blowing a fuse. Now, need to document what I did as I have four more to go. I did socket the decoder so that it can be removed. Including the blue wire to power the lights and the stay alive caps.

Have it behind my J70. Imagine the red tail lamps flashing at 1/sec.

It’s GN in 1965. It’s going to be something. He’s estimating a 1250’ mainline run on 3 levels. What I showed is basically 1/2 of 1 room of which there are 3. The papermill I’m working on is fitting a space 2’x30’. The framework we are currently working on is the last. Everything else is in and the mainline tracks and one 60’ double ended 12 track staging yard is in.
