End it Terry please
I think that would be a good idea, Terry.

77°, overcast, with a slight chance of showers overnight. I ran the sprinklers last night for about 25" per segment. Never got warmer than 86°, and wasn't bad out this afternoon. Wife went for a Stress Test this afternoon, all went well. then we went to the Orchard, for some fresh peaches as well as a peach pie. Then stopped at the Rite Aid to pick up an Rx. I'm officially in the Donut Hole, for the rest of the year.

In Baseball, Baltimore is playing in Minnesota, the Mets, in San Diego. All Star break runs Monday through Thursday Next week.

Next week, I have to get car inspected, and get a Hair cut. Wife sees her Cardiologist on next Friday.

The Container / Auto Carrier ship, that caught fire on last Wednesday, is still burning.

Never saw so many bad and reckless drivers on the road as we did this afternoon.

Curt: It's been said, that the railroads are run just like the military, so it stands to reason...🤣 On the other hand, what happened reflected the demoralized nature of the Penn Central at that point. I really should have kept a Journal, and kept a Camera with me to chronicle my part in Penn Central History.

Would be awesome read. One of my personal favorite recollections is in this issue of Rails Northeast-

And it involves my favorite piece of Pennsy mainline.

Well, howdy there internet peeps and those with weather today.

Gonna be a rainy day today in The Fort. So it's parade day to kick off the three rivers festival. Parades and rain. Two things I always had to go photograph in my news career.

The weather changed! Get me a pic for page 1! Back in the 80s and 90s when I was a photojournalist, parents didn't mind having their cute kids on the front page of the paper. Soooo glad I don't have that role now. "Yes, officer. I work for the local paper. See the logo on the car? Here's my press ID... No, I'm not a predator..."

So, I went back into the archives for today's pic from San Juan Capistrano. Was late 2014 or Early 2015. One of the better missions to visit for scenery ideas. Since part of my layout is going to be in SoCal, I should look into finding some SoCal flavored buildings in NScale....\\

I need to work on my Dwarven Army today... Pics of that coming as it occurs.

Good morning, it will be hot here but doesn't seem that humid. Basement work today and i really don't feel like it. Just have to suck it up.
This beautifull live steam model is on display at RR museum in Northeast, Pa;

That window nearby was making difficult lighting conditions for picture taking.

Probably scale 1:10, not really a big NYC fan but this H-10b mikado is handsome looking.

So you ran on AEM7s?
AM7s, HHP8s Acelas, E60s, P42s P40s P32s Bennet Levine's E-8s plus the Pumpkins and ex Go GP40Ps. My preference was the P42, which were used on the Keystone trains, before they started using the Meat Balls and ex Metroliner Cab Cars. (I also ran the original Swedish Meatball X995). The 4 cycle GE P42 takes forever to attain maximum speed, but it will get up to 110mph, (just in time to brake for the next speed restriction). The AM7s accelerated faster, (and went faster), but all electrics are wonky by nature, and Amtrak over does it with electronics that can suddenly go bad.

You're a gold mine! My specialty interest is Pennsy electric lines during 1970s and especially Conrail electrics are my favorite. What was your impression on X995 (Rc4) when you got on it?

Good morning from So. Central Wisconsin where the skies are clear and the dinner last night was interrupted by a 1/4ā€ of rain. This morning you can’t tell as the grass is still crispy brown. 65f degrees now heading to 81.

This is Art Fair on the Square weekend and except for Covid 2020 year Terry and I have been to 20 straight. It’s always been a great event even on some miserably hot or stormy days.

Not going this year as the granddaughter can’t handle the crowds and of course the SO is on Maui. I’m ok as it just means more money stays for my railroading budget.

Yesterday the pool and outdoor kitchen both got a pretty good work out. Again today we will spend most of the day out there. There needs to be a few tweaks in the outdoor kitchen, but nothing until the main kitchen is done. At 10 one of the granddaughter’s good friends is coming over for pool time. The water is at 78f degrees this morning. My good friend is coming at 2 with 5 of his grandkids. So having the pool going is good for both of us. A couple of his daughters will bring their spouses around 5:30 to grill some meat and eat. His wife is one of the Crew out with Terry on Maui.

Sleep time for the g/d is 9. Yesterday was super easy as she was beat from most of the day in the pool. The only aggravation yesterday was making sure she wore enough sun block. But with all the mothers there watching the girls they handled it. When 1 needed it all 3 got some. Issue solved.

After the g/d slept I got some weathering in but I crashed at 10:30. Probably the same today

enjoy the day

Good Morning All. Mostly cloudy and a warm muggy 80°. There's rain on the radar less than two miles away, doesn't look too heavy. Correction, I just stepped outside and a few stray drops hit me.

Not a good day yesterday. My sciatica flared up making activity less than pleasant. I did pick tomatoes for about 45 minutes and trim up some more firewood, but not nearly as much as I had hoped. It seems a bit better this morning.

Out in the train shed, I continued modeling the hobo camp scene. I took some pictures, but should have used the tripod, as these are a bit blurred.

I'll take more today that will hopefully be better.

Mac - Yep! Mac works for me. My wife is actually pretty good with money. She's done our finances for 50 years, and also worked for H&R Block for 22 years. She just doesn't have a tolerance for fixing stuff, especially appliances. She gets tired of the older ones.
Curt - The liquid chlorine here went from $16 for four gallons to $25 this year.
Tom O - Interesting how late in the season it took for your pool to come up to usable temperature. Mine usually hits 78° around May 25 or so. Currently at 88°, which is down a bit from two weeks ago.

Today is International Skinny Dip Day for the adventurous folks out there. It's quite common in my pool.
Everyone have a great day.
