Well, howdy there internet peeps and those without a pain in the arse
It's Troy again.
My piriformis syndrome kicked my butt this morning. I had a decent day with it yesterday, so I tried the Nerve glides that help with the sciatica caused by my compressed disk in my back. That should help. Right?
Narrator: He was a dumb arse, again!
it took me about 3 hours after I got up at 3 am for the pee run to get the pain under control. I started with 400mg of Ibuprofen. And rubbing Biofreeze gell on the leg and buttock.
Two hours later I added another 400mg of Ibu. The best position for relief from the pain is flat on my front, on the floor with the offending leg in a 4 position (left foot against the side of the right knee.)
Been digging into the youtube vids and the one making the most sense for my current condition is Dr. Charlie (Phys Therapist) who says STOP doing the sheet full of exercises. Get the pain under control, then do the one movement that makes your pain go down. He's got a methodology for finding that. I've identified a couple of "stretches" or movements that seem to help. So I'll be concentrating on the one that has the most impact.
Until then, I had to set up a poor-man's version of a standing desk.
I've got a bar stool near this, so I can alternate from sitting on it when the leg grumps to standing. But standing makes my plantar fasciitis flair up.
I probably won't be doing much hobbying or writing today. Might be able to lay on the couch and do some reading. We'll see.
Back later with an update as the day warrants.
