I use an uncoated cookie sheet when I make my grass tufts

1. add a piece of parchment paper
2. Put dots of hodge podge glue on the parchment paper
3. Clip on the ground
4. Use static applicaror

Since your going for production

3/16” or 4.76mm sheet of metal
Parchment paper or similar non stick paper
A piece of wood with holes big enough for the tufts to fit
Add the glue in the holes on the board
Attach the grounding clip
Use the static applicator

As for the grass mat, replace the parchment paper with your mat material, remove the board and spread the adhesive with a rubber pallet knife

I think you’d lose very little unused grass

Hey Tom
thank you for those tipps. have to check those rubber pallet knifes, great idea!
Especially for the Matts i have to find, a good glue but cheap. because i will need a lot of it.

i just need one that does not "closes" too fast. Mod Podge could be it but its not really "cheap" in switzerland.
but i will test and see :)

Cheers
Marco

Good morning folks. 20°F outside at 0540 this morning. Don't know why I'm up earlier than normal today. I go to bed between 2200 and 2230 every night, and usually rise by 0630-ß700.

I woke up about 0515 and couldn't fall asleep again. My eyes kept popping open so I figured it was a sign. So here I am with a hot cup of coffee and 6.5 hours to kill before lunch.

We're up to 8-13" of snow now. The milk and bread advisories are now a full-blown warning. All the People of Walmart will be crawling out of the woodwork in their double-layered pajamas, tee-shirts and shorts, and other inappropriate clothing for the weather.

I might just work on that yard lead today. Stay safe and have a great Freitag!

Servus!

It’s chilly out. Feels like -39 and I have an Ultrasound at 7:40

Good Morning All!
25F @ 67%, no new white. Guessers said 13 - 17F later today, then Sat and Sun. Overcast so probably not today. To be 41F on Thur. We will see. The threat prompted us to make our grocery run yesterday as the roads could get dicey.

Everybody in the South, Southwest and East be careful. If you do get the prescribed 1/2" of ice, be prepared - pretty much sure you are, some limbs limbs will be coming down just from weight; add a little wind - whole nother story.

Shopping - went to Hayden, Spo then back to Bonners Ferry:

CostCo in Hayden was not the usual zoo so we got in and out darn quick, pretty much normal stuff from there but found Dungi crab at $5.99 so I stocked up on those: here and Bonners it still is ~$29 lb. $345

Butcher shop in Spo was pretty much dead too. Got a whole NY strip, 2 lbs of liver, 2 lbs of KC bacon, 10 lbs of C.Breast, 10 lbs of C.Drummers and what ever was in the link sausage tray. $215.

Super 1 in Bonners was a zoo. Went for the pork chops @ $1.98 - got 8 - 4 chop packages, veggies and fruit. Cereal sale - huge box of Frosted Flakes $2.98, big bag of Coco Roo's $2.49, various fruits and veggies. Forgot the Roma tomato's @ $0.89, drat. $125.

I will be busy cutting and vacuuming a little later tody. So around $700 including gas. That is not monthly, as Strip, Chicken and pork chops will last more than that, who knows with the cereal - don't each that much but when they jump into the cart, so be it.

Wal*Mart: We usually go to Kal, or Ponderay for that; wouldn't even think of the Spo one. Most of the folks are well dressed and don't see the pajama or onezie types. Half ( or more ) of the people are carrying with viewable side arms; I have never seen any sort of trouble. Greeters are still greeting with smiles.

Y'all keep warm and dry!

The crazies are normally where it's just too easy to live. Up where you live it would be too hard for them to survive.

Good morning all!

Happy Friday!

The weather: Its butt cold!

Daughter is home from school today as all the schools in the area are closed. Wife is choosing to work from home.

Not a thing planned for today. Probably will do a load or two of laundry.

Have a safe day everyone, stay warm!

Good Morning All. Here it is cloudy and 48°, which is supposed to be the high today. Waiting on the predicted cold front which might arrive around 10:00. Glad that I don't live anywhere near Tom O, at -17°. I honestly don't know how you mid-westerners can live with those temperatures. But I'm sure that you are the same about our 100°+ days in the summer. Nothing has changed in our forecast and if it is still correct, we're in for a few cold wintry days with single digit overnight lows on Saturday and Sunday. Not looking forward to that. Today is supposed to have nearly 1" of rain before everything freezes over tonight. Scattered rain on the radar south of here in the Dallas/Ft Worth area right now. They have removed the snow total from the weekend forecast, just calling for wintry mix with no expected total. But they have added another snow day for Friday a week from today. No total there either!

Yesterday's weekly grocery trek wasn't a disaster but was not the usual run. Too many people. I don't normally venture into the bottled water aisle, but I did see folks with their carts full of it. Had to wait in the checkout line which doesn't normally happen; even though there were three open! Longer lines at the self-checkouts too. My neighbor who is their meat department manager told me that the day before was also a madhouse and they were expecting much worse later yesterday. I can only imagine what today will be like. I guess that I just don't understand. I go once a week and get a week's worth of groceries at a time, and I don't need to panic just because I might be snowed in! I do have three weeks of beer and meat at all times, so I can survive. Oh yes, and the canned home grown veggies in the pantry cabinet

No real plans for today, wife had already rescheduled her eye doctor appointment for sometime in February, rather than us driving in what might be questionable weather today. I don't actually plan to be in the car again until next Wednesday for a dental hygienist appointment. Even in good weather, it's not unusual for us to go 5-6 days without going anywhere.
I can't reasonably fit any more wood in the house right now and there is a 1.5 day supply on the covered front porch as well, so if it does rain, I won't get wet doing that. Loaded another 4-5 days worth in the garden cart staged by the back porch as a standby.

Out in the train shed yesterday, I only ran trains since I had been doing other stuff for a few days. I love running them for over an hour without any derailments or other problems. It makes all of the extra effort to lay the track initially well worth while.

Swal - I actually might have to wear some socks the next few days!
Troy - Sorry, I just assumed that your friend running for political office was from Ft Wayne. I thought that I saw an additional post clarifying it, but it seems to have disappeared now.
Jerome - That's kinda neat that you and your wife can make a living doing model train stuff.

Everybody have a great Friday and stay warm. If you have to get out, be safe.

Good morning gang!

Temps are holding at 27°, slowly supposed to get to the mid 30s today, the 11° by morning. The winter storm is supposed to start here by tomorrow evening and run til early Monday with accumulations anywhere from 6 to 60 inches.

The Cub and the snow blower are fueled, oiled and standing by, I'll stack the firewood rack in the basement tonight. Tell the weathergussers to bring it on!

Oh my we need to know more! What are you doing Jerome?

Watching the weather the last couple of days, you would think it never snowed here before. And having it be a storm on top of everything else really puts people in a frenzy. In all of my 55 years on this earth, I’ve never seen a snowstorm, where I live, shut down every grocery store, big box store or gas station. People are such sheep nowadays. Pathetic!

Congratulations! Do you know if it's a boy or a girl?
I didn’t know kidney stones had sexes. That would explain a great deal…
That's what the Ultrasound is for...
Funny!

Because I have issues with MRIs I get an ultra sound of the neck usually twice a year instead.. More often when either they spot something new or the lymph nodes get bigger. 2 time cancer of the thyroid and neck so it’s checked religiously as the lymph nodes get bigger and are an earlier warning sign than blood testing. If they schedule an MRI I’m in trouble. That usually imeans surgery is coming

I should know in a few hours my lymph node measurements and I can compare from previous test results. I see my Endocrinologist next week Thursday. Monday or Tuesday the full results will be on my medical portal but I don’t speak medicine so I wait for the doctor to explain

Well, howdy there internet peeps and those with positive temps outside.

It's Troy again.

Willie, this Chili pot is for you!

This is what we do in the midwest when we start seeing single digits and minus signs.

Yes, I did clarify about the candidate with an explanation of my past political involvement, and tied in the current congress critter for my area with a tale from the past. I have inside-baseball stories of past political episodes from my home state. We'll leave it at that.

Wife is heading over to her mother's this morning, driving because, while we're still in the positive of F degrees, it's only 6 of them. Mom's phone must have updated overnight. It stopped talking to her insulin pump and glucose sensor. So daughter to her rescue.

I've been struggling with my sciatica again. Rough night sleeping. So I had a 3am visit with my youtube buddies, Bob and Brad, the popular physical therapists on the internet (In their own opinions, right Bob?)... And doing some diagonostic tests they recommended to see what the heck is going on.... 🥁

Looks like I honked off my piriformis muscle doing my twisty stretches (flat on my back) yesterday. Normally, the piriformis gives your sciatic nerve a gently hug. But, right now, mine is like a chihuahua on meth, grabbing the sciatic nerve and not letting go.

So, i've got some exercises to help it relax, and to calm the nerve back down.

And, while I was browsing, I learned that Bob, of Bob and Brad, (he's the tall one) passed away in August. He'd been dealing with ataxia which affected his speech and motor functions. He had a "cerebral event" that basically put him on life-support and then deteriorated.

Their website is here (Bob's page) and has a lot of good PT resources if you need a little help (like I normally do):

It's laundry day on the home front.

Cat is avoiding me, because the wife caught him peeing on the landing at 4 am while I was watching Bob and Brad teach about piriformis muscles. Cat has a big case of the guilties about it. He'll go see her, but thinks I'll give him the stink eye.

I'm wondering if the chilled weather is hitting his arthritis harder than normal. He didn't feel like making it down one more flight of stairs to find his box?

I ordered him a heated cat bed we can put on the main level. Hopefully that will give him a reason to sleep closer to the litter box and not go all the way upstairs to sleep with us. Bed should be here on Monday. None of the pet stores locally stock them.
