Morning folks, currently 59 and very misty, about 1/8 mile visibility heading to work. Not sure how this weekend will turn out, but we got food and plenty of firewood just in case.

Willie - Could paint the exhaust silver on those little Farmalls. And if you're feeling really ambitious, the rims too 😛
Troy Again - That picture resembles me after eating Taco Bell...
Jerome - Nice to meet you too! A majority of my collection are older Athearns, they're stout yet simple. Not counting the parts and pieces, I've got 14-15 switchers assembled.

The local Walmart near us is for the most part "civilized". I go in once or twice a year for something I need that is cheap.

I found this photo from our Feb. '21 ice storm. I broke off some of the ice because an old friend in CA couldn't imagine what 1" of ice looked like.

The crazies are normally where it's just too easy to live.
We live in Dundalk, the land of crazies! Am I right @kbkchooch

I don't see any crazies at 6am when the Dundalk Walmart opens.
I should know in a few hours my lymph node measurements and I can compare from previous test results. I see my Endocrinologist next week Thursday. Monday or Tuesday the full results will be on my medical portal but I don’t speak medicine so I wait for the doctor to explain
Our prayers are with you.
Willie, this Chili pot is for you!
I want some!

It is probably very good, but it has too many veggies in it to be called "Texas" or "Southwest" Chili! Competitive chili cook-offs in Texas only allow meat, spices and sauce. No veggies, especially beans! I call what Troy posted Chili Stew. No offense to anyone who makes it that way.
Willie, chili without beans?? Sacrilege!! LOL Sorry, just a northerner that doesn't know any better.

Spoke with my daughter #2 in Dallas about an hour ago. She heard running water when she walked towards the back of her house and thought "Oh crap, a water leak!" She went out to investigate and realized that it was water gushing through the downspout! It was raining. As I have posted before, we have not had any measurable rain in this area since October 16. Right now, it's all south of me...not a drop here.

Morning all,

Currently a balmy 11° and windy. Was 19° when I got up at 6. I went grocery hopping last night after 8:30p and store not extremely busy. I was able to get all but 1 item on the list. I went back this morning after the store had been open a hour and got it. 5 packages of smoked sausage for $2.49 each with digital coupon (Our Kroger affiliate). I also topped off the wife's car and ran a couple of banking chores.

Snow not expected until around going home time this evening. Waiting to see what gets canceled when.

The weather guys have all of the local ranchers on the move this morning. There's been a steady stream of pickups and trailers "overloaded" with big round bales of hay, going up the road in front of the house. Due to the lack of rain in this area, there ain't no pasture to feed them cows. Beef will continue to be expensive due to that.

Dundalk may ne the land of crazies, and Columbia the land of fruits and nuts,
It is hard to describe what lives in-between.
I am an hour north
In what I like to call "God's Country" where the animals are truly harmless animals. Just watch out for the guns! Which is why I wear a bright orange shirt when delivering for Amazon before dawn. "I am not a trespasser!"

Which of course is why Troy posted the pic.

Bringing back memories of the great forum Chili discussion several years ago.

33F at 9:45am. Supposed to hit 40F today. Pic is to the south through the bathroom window. Hence the screen. (Most of the screens are sitting in the basement but this window only tilts back and doesn’t open).

This is the “cold” day of the week in the forecast and we’re in a small couple days of more cloudy weather. Mind it’s just partly cloudy and it’s high altitude clouds.

Morning all! 11 below in the frozen tundra. Got the little space heater running in the office. The master bedroom gets most of the heat, and I'm on the other side of the house. No bench time yesterday. Errands ate the day quite effectively. It's British food week here. I ordered some food from an online store who does that. So far we've had steak and ale pies, and cornish pasties. sides are pretty much same as here, peas or green beans. Bangers and mash tonight. I've heard in some quarters that this food is on the bland side. I find this undeserved. Both meals were reasonable portions, and satisfying. the spice pallet is a little different, and I found no need to add salt or pepper so far. With restaurant prices now stupid, trying different things at home is much cheaper! Staying in today!
