Well, howdy there internet peeps and those working hardly...

It's Troy again.

I discovered that running vinegar through the cleaning cycle on the coffee maker really helps the coffee taste better. Especially when I forgot to do so for the last two months. Three months is too long to not keep it clean.

I put a piece of painters table with "Cleaned (date)" on the side of the magic bean juice brewer, to help me remember when.

Also need to get out and get a bag of lump charcoal. We have one more day of moderate weather before the rain moves in followed by winter temps returning this weekend. And the wife wants steaks on the grill. I have the steaks in the fridge. But I'm out of charcoal. I'll head to Mendards this morning for more of my Not-really-Dark-Dark Chocolate nibbles and grab a bag of Jealous Devil as well.

Still waiting on the Audiobook Distributor to do something with my two books that are stalled because I shortened the name of the series on the cover. I may make a minor amendment to one of them today and see if it gets a different quality rep.

In other news, had another day of sleeping in to 5:30a. Not sure why. I did skip the whiskey cocktail last night. And I had a Diet Dr. Pepper about an hour before bedtime. No clue if either of those helped me sleep later?

Good morning from Wisconsin. 37f going to high 40’s later. We are about 30 degrees higher than the seasonal temperature!

I’ll ask the wife if we are doing breakfast out today as our normal Thursday brunch/breakfast habit stopped before Xmas

I watched a few videos on the Walthers Diesel house and that’s no ordinary kit. There are raised platforms that are tough to install and the rail is on individual support pedestals. The side walls are flimsy but only one YouTube content provider reinforced them. Most of the videos on YouTube were 8 to 13 years old. Not the best of production quality but every one of them got the point across. Tough to build but worth it. I have to think about this one!

I tried to watch a video on building the service platform for in front of or nearby the diesel house. I got the idea but not the best content I have ever seen. This one is a slow kit build. I think 2 diesel houses end to end and a couple of the diesel service center kits and that would be a heck of a scene! My guy wants to display the 120+ diesels I have weathered for him and has the money. But, he does not want to try to even build a shelf , wants to hire a layout builder. Has an area to fit a 30” x 216” with 3 sides of access. If I was in LA…

Enjoy the day

Good Morning All. Cloudy and 68°. Radar shows that it is raining here, Weather Underground station around the corner reports rain there; but my weather rock, back porch and the cars are all dry! Plus I walked outside to water a tree and I felt nothing. Radar shows a brief thunderstorm approaching from the west; maybe it's not imaginary. Anyway, 78° is the predicted high today, upper-60's tomorrow and then 2 days just in the 50's before returning to the 60's. Might come close to freezing a few times. That will be a more normal pattern than we have been experiencing this season.

I survived the MRI yesterday, but I won't know anything for a few days. Got my hearing aids fixed at Sam's Club. New technician there seems to know his stuff. Third different one in the last 6 months. The previous 2 were suspect as was the one that I saw in a different location in September when there was no one in the place closer to me. Bank and water company to pay that bill on the way home.

Weekly grocery trek this morning. Pharmacy, Vitamin Shop and gas are on the itinerary as well.

Out in the train shed yesterday, I ignored the electrical problem with the industry trackage for now, I just wasn't in the mood to get under the layout yet; although everything is out of the way. I started cleaning structures in Budville and decided to upgrade this small farmhouse and shed.

This is a small laser-cut wood structure from Branchline, the name escapes me right now. The shed is a scratchbuilt structure of my own design using leftover sheets from other laser-cut structures. More to come.

Tom O - I've only been to a Jason's Deli once. I would go back but I don't know if there are any close enough to me.
Fortunate that your potential building client has more money than time. That diesel house looks like a bitch to build and shipping it to CA will be touchy and expensive at best!
Michael - That sounds like a rather tough operating session. I've had issues before when I forgot to turn off a DC block and inadvertently had a second train derail at the end of a passing siding.
Retired in Iowa - I'm all behind supporting my local (to me) brick and mortar model train store.
If you don't mind me asking, would you care to let us know your actual name, like Tom or Jim? It's a little more personable than RII.

Elvis Presley was born on this day in 1935. It's also the birthday of David Bowie, born on this day in 1947.

In the last 30 minutes as I watched the Stock Market opening, it rained briefly. From 20' away, there looks like almost a quarter inch in the rain gauge.
Everyone have a terrific Thursday

Good morning all!

Was on earlier this morning and got side-tracked with some other things.

Warming trend continues in a big way today. Currently 44F with an expected high of 55F. Downside is heavy rain will be the order
of the day. Looking at the radar, it is on our doorstep and will last thru late tonight. Good news is I wont have to shovel any of it.

Not much else going on around here other than a morning (already completed) grocery run for some forgotten items, laundry and
what not.

No games or practices for daughters sports tonight so it will be train time in the basement.

Have a safe day everyone!

Good morning folks, 63 and rainy here this morning. I remember when Blazing Saddles came out and watched it in a racially mixed neighborhood on Chicago's South Side. All of us, white and black were still laughing as we left and quoting the lines together. Sad that tensions have resurfaced since then. On the subject of breakfast.

I don't eat eggs very often at all. As of today, I don't remember eating any eggs for any meal within the last two years or more. I'm not supposed to eat bacon very much, and what I do eat comes on a pizza. The firearm is usually holstered.

If I eat any breakfast at all, it's usually toast with butter and strawberry jam with coffee. I usually only eat breakfast if I'm going to be out and about in the morning before lunch.
