Well that looks like the piece I need.
I may be wrong, but the motor you have in the photos looks more like the unit in the Decopod locos. The back of my motor (opposite of drive end) is more flat, does not have the black plastic end and does not have another flywheel like in your photo. However, that being said, that piece you have the red arrow on is in deed the piece I need.
Thanks....John

Good gloomy morning from Wisconsin. 30f degrees now and low 40’s later. Heavy duty fog

Went to the movies yesterday late afternoon. Marty Supreme, here’s the theater’s Synopsis: Marty Mauser, a young man with a dream no one respects, goes to hell and back in pursuit of greatness. It starred Timothy Chalamet and because dad always said if you can’t say nice things about something don’t say anything at all. The Milk Duds were fresh and excellent, the free popcorn was good

Afterwards we hit up Jason’s Deli a national but not too big a chain. We have not been there since the start of Covid. It’s different as it’s not fast service, it has a decent variety of sandwiches to choose from and the ice cream machine is free.

It’s a weathering day! I did inspect, clean and fade the cars that came in Monday. Today I will do the same for 6 diesels that arrived yesterday.

I belong to 2 operations groups and have met guys at these sessions from across Wisconsin but also many other states. A guy I barely know from out of state texted last week me after I mentioned on my FB page I was having issues finding styrene structural pieces and some flat sheet. Asked me what I needed as he’d ask his group. Last night he texted he added 10% to what I needed and he’ll bring it to an OPS Session he is coming to tomorrow night a few miles from me. Fearing the price I had to ask. Damn almost free! What a great group model railroaders can be.

Enjoy your day

We had Jasons Delis in Dallas and there is one in Wichita Falls Tx. I used to eat there quite often when I lived in Dallas.....great sandwiches and a great salad bar with reasonable prices.
After moving out west about 11 years ago I did not know there was a Jasons Deli in Wichita Falls until about three years ago. I stopped by with great anticipation of tasting one of their sandwiches again. But a sandwich and salad bar (with water to drink) was about $19.00. Paying around $13 for a ham & Cheese sandwich was just a little over the top for me. I can make as good as a sandwich at home for a lot less. I passed and went to Olive Garden and had a great meal there, with iced tea, and had some to take home for around $15.
I guess covid caused a bit of higher prices as I said this was about three years ago. I'm afraid to see what the prices are now.
Maybe things are cheaper where you go.

John, large soda, 1/2 rubeun, small water and a Chicken Panni sandwiches only not the basket or meal deals was $26.+. Even though it’s order your own at the register they have to deliver it so I did leave a 10% tip. Debit card was $29 as I round up. Just looked online to see individual prices and there are no prices listed for our local Jason’s Deli. It was good not great and the atmosphere is better than a Culver’s. Something different for us as Terry definitely is not a fan of sandwiches or bread. She said the Rueben was very good, my panini ok equaling a good overall score!

My son was here from Oregon for Christmas. He told me he had a scanner for slides and negatives. I asked he would try some old negatives I had.
Now a sea story
I think I told the story of the yacht on fire in Dec. 1964. It was 17 years after the Texas City disaster. One of the negatives was the yacht on fire, caused by a cleaning crew using naphtha.

Lower left is the bow of the Cutter Point Caution, in the center is a 40 ft utility boat trying to keep a section cool and the yacht. Part of the Texas City petrochemical area on the docks is the background. I hadn't seen this picture until yesterday.

STAY SAFE
LATER

Afternoon, going to the club tonight, I'll have to introduce myself, I haven't been there in 2 months due to work, sickness and holidays. Got some cars to test out to make sure the trucks are not too tight. Running through switches is the best test even though you think they are good.
Not gonna lie when you said going to the club I had a WAYYYYYYY different idea Lol

Interns don’t need computer account? I’d think you’d at least want them in for email and their departments comms facilities.

A great way to make an intern feel a part of the team.
Unless you are paying per seat and what the intern's job description is. Gov't had a nice way of getting ripped, I mean paying for this stuff. My office used to have an account only for the superviser of the Japanese installers group. But later decided to pay for each installer to have his own account. I believe your last sentence was the seller.

Turns out he is part of a HS work study program, so they are only here a few hours a day and have school email. In this case, it turns out he's working in the auto shop and didn't need email or a computer account. We pay by the seat and he doesn't need it for what he's learning. That isn't the case with ALL interns as we have some from the local colleges that do need email and Office licenses.

Cool. If you have calipers and can measure in millimeters, that'll be more accurate. Some photos of the frame saddle and the motor bearing would be good.

At your leisure as well, no rush. I have no schedule.

Question

Has anyone here built the Walthers diesel house?
IMG_3768.png

I have a client with more money than time. Originally I wanted to combine 2 kits end to end until he told me the dimensions. So he wants 1 kit built to hold some of his diesels! I will look to see on you tube if there is a build there even a terrible video will help me out. But any advice on this kit would be welcome

I have seen at least one on a layout but it’s in the corner of an engine facility that i have never been able to work. Is it modern enough for 2015 to 2025?

I need to figure billing as I think this is more involved than just putting 4 walls and windows together. Rates for straight kit builds with no changes are retail price of Kit x 2 plus weathering

Thanks

One of the few that I haven't built. The size of those walls almost always means some warping even if they are in separate pieces. Probably needs lots of bracing. It would be interesting to know if the instructions for this kit are any better than most of their others, which are marginal at best.
Good luck.
OK, I just looked up the instructions on the product page, and while they look better than most, it does look like a complex build. I would have to get my hands on to determine how good those instructions are, but that's not going to happen.

Good morning all
