Which at Uno's called Chicago Style... A knock off of Sicilian.
I think the pizza is just a fashion, some of the names may actualy relate to a difference, but they also use those names to encourage people to try more.
Here in the UK the flavours seem to change, maybe seasonal, but sone flavours like the bbq toppings etc come and go, I think people get bored so they are offered less often so people snag them while they can.
We ted to have
thick spongy base
a more normal slightly crunchier thinner but a basic thickness, denser, this base also tends to be the one that comes rolled at the edges with a roll of like cheese string
then there is a popular thinner base, more crunchy and likely far less calories
tomato and then mozzarella are popular, meat 🥩 tends to be rather sparse nowadays, and cheaper mince or sausage styles rather than a decent salami, pepperoni is quite popular.

Now when I was at college…coughs…40 years ago…..there was a bakery run by an Italian family
their pizza was to die for, I had one sone 30 years later still way better than the usual offerings but not as great as my nemory, plus they no longer did sone of their Italian / Sicilian offerings.
I had use to buy telephone wires, this was a tasty rice paella style rice wrapped around either
1. Pure cheese hence the telephone wires because as you pulled it apart the cheese stretched….yummy
2. Or a bolognaise thick with minced beef 🥩 filling very tasty
3. Or a combo with the sauce and sone cheese BUT pulling it apart to okay with the cheese could result in spilling the bolognaise style sauce….shock horror …licks it off any surface it falls on…well okay ..within reason!
There also did something wonderful with a boiled egg, but my memory can’t remember the full enchilada but it was well worth it.
They also did the folded pizza, calazone

When I visited London a pizza house did that too before it became popular.
I have a recipe for the telephone wires, if anybody is interested I can throw it up, it is totally worth the effort, I prefer a gutsy Chicken stock base for the 🍚 rice definitely enhances the experience

Nowadays. Have tried Keto pizza, the cauliflower base is um well put politely lacking i over egg the topping to compensate
i have bought phasylis husk as I understand this makes a decent bread substitute when I get around to it,if I remember to photograph it I will show you the results. I go heavy on the herbs and garlic and usually go with a duper meat choice bacon definitely. In the list

slightly overcooked, but I ate the crispy bits all the same, both were cauliflower, cooked the same time hence both over cooked oops, now what I need to do is make homemade sausages again..but I need a wheat replacement…ho hum. The cauliflower type is cauliflower and a LoT of mozzerella, nice cold, but easy to re warm…if it last that long.

Using a little smoked provolone on your pizza adds great flavor. There's a plce near us that makes really good pizza. They put their toppings beneath the cheese, which helps hold everything in place!

I learned as a kid that the cheese over the toppings (at least some of them -- there was an order to it) is indicative of Greek pizza. Growing up in Mass a lot of the local pizza places were from the "Greek" tradition and did it this way. At least that is what I was told by some of those in the business (my brother worked at one of them). Don't know if it is true.

Well spent my xmas money late in the January sales for better discounts.

sorry not a loco in sight,

however I am now …coughs…seven….yeah you heard me…pairs of boots better off
19/54, 18/54 Joules offered up 2 pairs of gardening boots, bright pink :D and brown with a zip, on size too big ie 6s so I can wear 2 pairs of socks when cold.
53/120 Dune offered rock chick black leather short,
58/120 fur lined camel leather mid calf,
34/90 (20 less than the black ones) camel suede ankle boot Great for trousers,
69/175 then I bought looks sheepish a thigh high pair black leather with a reasonably chunky heel …yes I can walk in then almost saunter, hopefully as leg continues to get better total saunter,
64/175 and finally the same again in dark brown suede.

So 2 all rounders, two flattish almost sensible, two suede need treating or wear in good weather, and the brown suede total omg love them, luckily the other took one look at the original black ones, wiggled his eyebrows and agreed they were a good buy.

Now let’s be fair, I could have blown the whole lot on just one nice 😜 loco….but hey SEVEN!

Photograph proof is possible, but I honestly did not think you would give a ….s h x t . laughs wiggles feet in 🥰 lovely new camel 🐪 boots

Yeah I've been seeing the Ukrainian women ads as well everywhere... It's better than the various CHina based "fashion" sellers that had been showing up a lot with total junk stuff at ridiculously low prices.
Considering just how many Ukranian women and children have been re located to Russia….they do not call it kidnapping. I for one do not blame them, I think emptying Orphanages has also been popular. hopefully they arrive in one piece, although I worry that a lot won’t.
Although how many are genuine Ukrainians. and from experienc….Paris college holiday, lads did a whip around for two of the lads to go party with sone very nice ladies in a park after midnight, be fore the rest of us had crossed the park (the Metro having shut) the were heard running towards us telling us to also run….apparently those girls were not girls short skit-rats or not, and took objection to the lads not wanting to hand over the agreed monies….luckily the genuine girls including myself in the college party were wearing walking shoes from touring the city and were able to run like they were being perused by the hounds of hell which the disgruntled lady boys were. apparently one eager lady boy flashed his tackle before the cash exchanged hands….teasing ensued for months!

Morning all,

I wonder where or what I searched on my phone that has my ads as Ukrainian women that want to meet me...

So far our network outage continues but hopefully we'll be back up soon. Been a lot of busy days and I'll have my 40 hours in by noon today. Sunday was the first day of the pay week. Today should be a little slower as we are in a waiting pattern.

There was a local place in my birth town that had great pizza. I think they are on their 4th generation of ownership. Now that I live 1000 miles away and no longer have living relatives in the area, it's been probably 20 years since I last had one of their pies.

Try to be back later.
Totally jealous I have not seen any of Ukranian men wanting to meet me, maybe they are forum members…..lol

Good Morning Again. Surprise, it started sprinkling while I was out to the doctor. That wasn't in the forecast and still isn't. Stubborn weather persons who never get outside!
No issues noted by the dermatologist this morning, took one sample for the pathologist but he wasn't really concerned. He sprayed around with the liquid nitrogen a bit, but I think that he does that to get more $$$ from Medicare.

Pizza - My favorite pizza is my homemade one made with whole wheat flour, slightly thick crust, homemade Marina, boatloads of freshly grated Mozzarella, more toppings than commercial, especially pepperoni (no pineapple thank you) and finished off with freshly grated Parmesan cheese. Of course now that I am limiting carb intake, I don't make it very often. There's two small family owned Italian places in town a few miles away that both make excellent pizza, but neither is whole wheat crust.

I'm hoping to change the oil in the car today if it doesn't rain much, then do some of the usual gardening and yard stuff. The weather is really nice right now and I feel like planting vegetables right now, but I won't be fooled by Mother Nature. The Farmer's Almanac indicates the second week in February this year for root crops.

Out in the train shed yesterday, I continued with cleaning structures. I have a series of businesses along the front edge of the layout here with the railroad running behind them. The street is "off-layout" so I don't need as many vehicles. I didn't make or need any improvements on these structures. From north to south we have Betty's Diner, a laser-cut wood kit from Bar Mills. They call it Sweaty Betty's.

Next door is Wagner & Son, a beer distributor. It's a kit from DPM from the 90's.
View attachment 160156
Moving down the block is the motorcycle repair shop simply known as Motorcycle Repair Shop. It is also an old DPM kit.
View attachment 160157
Next up is a pair of Hydrocal structures from Downtown Deco known as Blair Ave Part I.

More to come next.

Tom O - You mentioned the sale items at Walther's yesterday morning. My now retired LHS owner was a Walther's distributor and he always matched their sale prices. He got an additional rebate from them for all sales covered by their current catalog. I don't know if that was available to all of their distributors or not. Otherwise he always discounted everything by 20%. He only offered that sales price match to customers who asked for it, but got the rebate for all sales.
Joe - On my high carb days, there is nothing better than a Jersey Mikes #13. They offer a special cheese bread here, which can also be bought separately if you want to use it at home.
Patrick - AdBlock Plus works for me.

Everybody have a great day.
Tut tut advertising for Wagner…….only pulling your leg….

also I see your advertising Betty’s Diner…..I would take a wide circle around Flo, apparently she worked there once, and she left because Betty…well you can guess. Any Flo luckily is here now, and apparently her husband keeps his eyes and hands to himself nowadays!

Good Afternoon All!
37F and partly

Wife has been keeping me busy so slow progress on the Train Cave lights. - gonna try for another 2 strings ( 6 lights ) after I hang up here.

And a [RANT] - For some reason I purchased one of the newer Sirius radios while still truck driving. Bigger screen with touch ... yada yada yada. Wife gave them a call earlier and from her expressions it was not going well. All we wanted to do was to leave the radio in the Edge alone and swap the new radio with the radio NOT in the Edge - To me it should have been a 10 minute call as we had both radio's in our hands and knew the numbers. The Ethnic from a Galaxy Far, Far Away had at least 45 minutes of questions and re-do's. Did not know our debit card which is on file as we get the monthly bings from Sirius. Had to type that in the phone 3 times. Ethnic also kept asking us how many cars we have. What? Why would that matter in a radio swap. I still do not know if the radio has been activated; will find out when I go out to The Cave I guess. PITA [EndRANT]

I guess that we have only called them 3 times in the last 10 years - so it is what it is.
Well; Verizone is next - no need for Hot Spot's anymore or Unlimited Data. We will see how she fairs on this.

Hope y'all are well!

Afternoon All,

Started out with a walk at 52F. I did a bunch of chores during the morning then the wife coerced me to help with a king size quilt for SIL. Dad said he's taking us out to supper tonight. I ordered some Tru Color Pennsy freight car red for the upcoming build. I'm waiting for the kit to see if I need to order decals. I already have the couplers, wheel sets, and trucks.

On the subject of pizza and coffee, my palate is not very discerning. I'm happy with Little Ceasars pizza and 7-11 coffee (if fresh), but I do prefer thin crust pizza.

Joe- Nice job on the gondola.

Christian- That's good.

Karl- I see the ads also.

Willie- Nice layout scenes.

Jeff- We have a red tail hawk that hunts close to our house. It's nature in action. A shame about the feeder though.

I hope everyone has a good night.

Good afternoon to all! A warm day in H-Town, but the guessers say we'll cool down next week. A front is due through here a little later with rain and cooler temps. A/C is running in January.
Been mostly lurking outside the diner windows. Not a lot of anything to say.
I did run some trains and installed a hanging traffic from Woodland Scenics. I'm somewhat disappointed in the light. It is quite small, but N Scale after all. One sided, and not flashing or blinking. It's installed so it will stay, but it is easy to miss seeing. That's it in the center of the pic.

Also while running trains I got a shot of GG-1 4807 passing Shaw Ridge, a Bar Mills kit.

On the subject of pizza and coffee, my palate is not very discerning. I'm happy with Little Ceasars pizza and 7-11 coffee (if fresh), but I do prefer thin crust pizza.

my son likes Little Caesars when all else fails. I call it "Little Squeazers" since the last time I went there (which is probably 30 years ago), the "combo" pizza had like 2 pepperonis, one piece of sausage, one piece of green pepper, one olive, and two small chunks of onion. Sure it was a combo but the total amount of toppings was less than what should have been for a 1 topping pizza. He assures me they're not like that any more but they lost me.

I agree on thin crust -- the Dominos "Brooklyn style" (I think the call it) is the better crust for the build your own pizza. But I'll take any pizza with any crust. Deep dish, Detroit, thick crust (like Papa Murphy has if you have that chain of take and bake), thin crust, etc. are all good. I don't care. As long as the sauce is not bad I'll take it. The sauce is what makes or breaks a pizza.

Our kids got us a bird feeder that has a built in wifi camera. It's been fun to watch the birds this way. BUt yesterday morning, I was just bending over to let the dog out of his crate for the morning, when I saw a Hawk attack a bird on the feeder, and carry it off, but not before knocking the whole contraption off the tripod.

I'll lhave to check to see if anything broke when I get home.. not time to look at it this morning.
I have a Cooper's Hawk that will grab a bird from the feeder. I had a squirrel around the bird feeder for two days and haven't seen him in a week, I thinking the hawk got him too.

Stubborn weather persons who never get outside!
Today, it was supposed to rain all day, then suddenly it wasn't. Now the rain is tomorrow. They don't ever look out the window either. Right now its 49°, coming off a day's high temperature of 55°looking at a low of 36°, with rain tomorrow starting after the rush hour...(unless they change it again). Jersey Mikes # 13 is their best sub, followed by their #4, # 5 and #6. All on an Italian roll. Jersey Mikes is all over the country, but locally, they are local. Rolls still come from the bakery in Long Branch. Notice their commercials now feature Asbury Park's own, Danny deVito.

I've had #13s in Savannah, GA, and Clarksville TN. They were good, but the rolls were not the same...

I don't get those ads, Adblock Plus works.

I'm pruning my underutilized subscriptions, WAPO and ESPN+ are done on expiration, MLB TV will join them in February, when the renewal is due. I know, I'm just scratching the surface. I do this every couple of years as a matter of course.

Sports subscriptions which have blackout restrictions do not get sufficient usage....the Capitals, for instance are blacked out when ever they play the Rangers, Devils, Islanders or Flyers. Many of their games are carried on Cable only NHL Network, or TNT, which does not have a stream option. I get to watch a Caps game every two weeks or so... Need to get rid of blackouts to be viable...

Tom O: It is becoming obvious that Covid lock downs hurt numerous small businesses especially franchises. We haven't been to a restaurant since Covid.

South Amboy - June 28 2012 - SA31 and NJT Bayhead with PL42 4023 both Westbound - Stephen Brad...jpg

Westbounds pass South end of South Amboy on June 28, 2012. Steven Brad photo. Diesel powered passenger is a through Bay Head train from Hoboken, while the freight is SA31 from Browns to Red Bank. Jersey railroading at its finest.
