Good Morning All. Another cold one at clear and 24°, wind chill of 19°. Wind this morning is just 3 mph but will pick up from the south at about 10 mph soon and the day will warm up to the mid-50's.
Besides bringing in wood for the heater today, we're making up the postponed Christmas Day celebration at my daughter's home today. SIL and grandson have now tested negative for Covid, never really felt bad to begin with, so we're going too Dallas soon. We'll be with both daughter's families and the three local grandkids. I am hoping to get plenty of model railroading stuff, the grandkids love to give it to me. We're skipping the traditional morning brunch since daughter #1 and her husband have to work this morning from home. While daughter #2 and her husband also work from home, they are cutting out early to have the festivities at their home.
Thanks for all of the comments and likes regarding the revisit of Wicked Wanda's, which is now a rooming house on my layout;

No time in the train shed yesterday, since the heaters out there only kept the temperature around 50°. This only happens about a half dozen times a year. I need to look into an industrial type or just live with what I have. I have 50 amp service out to there, so I theoretically could add greater capacity. It's comfortable at 50° with a sweatshirt on, but I do not do layout or modeling work with long sleeves on.
So let me entertain you with a pair of pictures of a simple Bar Mills kit, Miracle Manufacturing. "If it's a good chair, it's a miracle".
Another incredible day of visitors to the Coffee Shop yesterday. Surely it's some kind of record with over 8 pages in two days!
Steve J -
I was feeling it yesterday, but think it is just tired - really tired.
Outside of the parsonage, we call it "hung-over"!
Greg -
It seems that
Christian decided to leave the forum. Not sure why, but he quoted a comment from
Troy (post #5) in his resignation note. Interesting in that when
Troy first made the comment,
Christian "liked" the post, commented positively in post #6 and then posted four more times before he posted that he wasn't coming back.
Troy's comment was by no means disrespectful.
Troy - That work area is just too organized for me. Looks really nice though.
Hughie - Thanks for the comment regarding Wicked Wanda's. I actually had that kit on the shelf for over seven years before starting on it.
George - Yes, those implant ads are amazing. All of mine were on an approximate six month schedule while the implant settled into the jawbones. Also expensive. Eight staggered implants, nine crowns and four additional extractions cost me $45K, with insurance paying just $4500 over the three years that the work took place. Prior to the dental work, I had four broken teeth for several years.
There are several more posts that I intend to comment on, but I have run out of time and I will hopefully get to them tomorrow. Y'all are just too prolific.
Gotta go now as there is plenty to do.
Everybody have a great day and stay safe.
