She's got mugs, and jugs! 😆

Good Morning All. Clear and 56°, maybe 78° later on. Cold weather returns tonight with a drop into the upper-30's and highs only in the upper-50's through Monday.

Headed out this morning for the usual Thursday grocery trek. UPS store, pharmacy and Sam's are on the itinerary. Probably have to send my RH hearing aid into the shop when I visit the hearing center at Sam's. It's been acting up for 3 months now, but I haven't been able to get in to get it looked at.

Out in the train shed yesterday, I mostly ran trains. Switched out a freight transfer facility in Gainesville that I hadn't switched in a few months. No issues noted. Only picked up all of the cars there and at a neighboring industry, did not leave anything. Mainly to test the trackwork in that part of the layout, since I am going to finally install a grade crossing there and finish the road and ballast. Didn't look at the tractor scene that I posted about yesterday, just felt like running trains instead.

Not sure who you are referring to here, but I strongly disagree regarding those that I am aware of the cause of demise.
David - May you and Dawn continue to have a safe and happy journey.
Mikey - I don't anticipate much heating of the lighting buss. But thanks for the information.

They seemed to hang out in front of the convenience stores in East Dallas when I was in high school.

Reminds me of a situation in the 70's in Texarkana TX. Half of the city is on the Texas side of the border where the drinking age was 18 at the time; but the Texas side was in a dry county and no alcohol was sold. Across the main drag, the Arkansas side had beer stores, but the legal age there was 21. The local police kept a close watch on customers because purchasing anything more than 2 cases of beer or 2 bottles of liquor was considered bootlegging.

Smokey Robinson of the Miracles is 86 today.

Everyone have a great Thursday. Hope that it works out better than Troy's day has so far.
I'm referring to everyone I know Willie. If you watched the video, you see Visceral Fat is related to multiple health issues including Cancer, Heart attacks, Liver disease and on and on. It wraps itself around your organs after years of eating processed meats, engineered wheat, oils and almost all our food now. Kennedy is right . A lot of my golf friends have major health issues. A lot are all ready gone. I try to warn them and they tell me I don't plan on being around that long. Swal

Eye exam went well. Pressures in both eyes have dropped again to half of what they were. 14mm/Hg in the left (bad eye) and 11mm/Hg in the right eye. We were both excited to see those numbers. The drops have really done their job.

Was fitted for glasses too. It'll be about two weeks on those. They are fitting the lenses to my military frames. Most comfortable glasses I ever wore. I just hope they get the prescription correct.

Troy, if I was stuck anywhere, I can't think of any place I'd rather be stuck than aboard an aircraft. Especially if I'm flying it. But those days are over.
Have a good flight.

I will take both!! as a single bachelor I feel obligated to say she probably pull the shirt down and tight to make an extra tip. some peoplesay its being over sexualized I call it good marketing as sex sells rather we like it or not

That is the way most Dirndls fit women with a bust. There are sweater puppies as far as the eye can see at Oktoberfest. Only the older Frau wear higher cut Dirndl blouses.

I finally found a pistol I'm very seriously considering. Yes, I still want the Walther Q4 SF or a nice NOS P99, but I stumbled upon the Springfield Armory SA-35, a High Power clone. Now this pistol has been around for over five years, but they just released a high-polish, blued steel model that looks every bit as good as the old Belgium made Hi-Powers.

The problem? No one has any. I called half a dozen distributors this morning and checked another half a dozen on-line and not one had one in stock. I wrote to Springfield directly to find out what the hold up is getting these pistols to distributors. No answer yet.

There is two on Gunbroker. One has a small scratch in the blueing near the muzzle, and the other had so many fingerprints all over it, I didn't even bother writing to the seller. Probably has handling marks everywhere.

On a matt finish or nitro-carburized, or Parked finish I'm not so picky, but for hi-polished blued steel it had better be perfect out of the box.

This SA-35 is a work of art. If I could find one.

Yes they are nice. Our people that went to SHOT made a comment on them.

Speaking of nice stuff....this had me SMH. GOOD customer had bought a Korth revolver several months ago. He brought it back recently to trade in on one of the new production Manhurins. I thought he was nuts to do that, but they told me he just has a crap ton of money and no wife.

So yesterday we had a snowy day. Maybe a couple inches fell in my area on the west side of the valley, though it was really windy for the morning until about lunch so the actual accumulation was probably under an inch. I think last night there was 1/2" on the driveway but the dirt and peoples' lawns probably had an inch. (Wife says there was a lot more in the center of the valley where she works and the roads got better as she drive west).

Our driveway is probably 6"-12" thick depending on where you are. The grading for it didn't quite match the pour (which was poured to match the house elevation and the sidewalk as level as possible). They also poured it a but thicker because they came straight out for a few feet before angling down to the sidewalk, so that the step in front of the house over to the front door porch was even height along the whole thing.

We had asked for about a 5-6" driveway instead of the normal 4" because we had 2" foam underlayment insulation and snow melt hot water tubing under neath it with both some rebar and heavy wire mesh reinforcement and wanted a bit more mass to counteract the thermal expansion and contraction from snow melt. We ended up with anywhere from around 5" to 12".

So we have a bit more thermal mass in our driveway than the neighbors. Which means when the sun comes out, our driveway tales a few extra hours to melt of the snow and ice.

The first pic was at 10:19am this morning. You can see the neighbors' driveways are pretty much clear. The second pic is at 13:40pm today. We've let most but not all of ours. The morning shot was less snowy and icy than it was over night. We'd already had a couple hours of sun on it.

You can se on the first pic from the morning, the sidewalk which is probably only 3-4" thick concrete, had already melted.

Interestingly on the 13:40 pic, the parts on the left that are still snowy are one of the thinner parts, 5-6" on the edge compared to the parts on the right.

And in case you're wondering, the snow melt system isn't in operation yet. I still have to add the controller and another electronics box that distributes some wiring, and then pressure test the manifold and piping. Mainly testing the manifold to make sure all the connections are good. And then fill it with a water / glycol mix. We did get the piping actually connected to the manifold this past fall... Luckily we've not had a lot of snow and no heavy storms this winter.
