Our Walmart is actually pretty good at letting the Scouts , Schools and various other organizations set up shop out front as are most of the chain grocery stores.
When I was involved with scouting back 25 years ago we’d sell chocolate bars at Walmart once or twice a year. At the time Walmart would only work with certain groups and you had to sign up for and reserve the days you wanted well in advance as they restrict each day to one group. And certain times like Christmas are off limits (they give those days to the Salvation Army).

Well, hello there old friend...

Haven't seen you in about six weeks.

59 F degrees outside, 233 F degrees inside.

Steaks tonight with mixed veggies and a couple of rolls, left over from our last trip to Logan's Roadhouse.

no need to rush
I do speed limit nowadays. And it's KPH over here. The speedway is 80 (50 mph), most surface is 50 (32), residential is 30 (20). I find that the trucks pose the biggest danger as they speed everywhere. When they cause an accident, there is always deaths. I have had to get out of my lane as the large dump truck came barrelling down a 30 kph residential, driving in my lane. He wouldn't have the time to stop or turn and he was going to live. I wanted to burn his house down and kick his dog for that.

Good afternoon to all.................

I just finished off my second box of GS Thin Mints about two days ago.

I worked a bit in the train room yesterday and took a break from servo turnout motor installations and added a spur line that goes to my Swift Processing plant. I have always had plans for the spur, I just put it off until now. I'll be doing a bit more today.

I purchased an A-B-B-A set of Athearn Genesis, Burlington, F3 diesels all new old stock. All four locos for $250.00. I thought that was a good deal.

I also purchased a new, old stock Broadway Limited , Santa Fe , 4-8-4 steam loco #3751. It has QSI sound but I don't have an issue with that. I have another BLI Santa Fe, 4-8-4, loco # 3753 with QSI sound that I purchased new when they were released. These two locos should look pretty good double headed.
Needless to say I have exceeded my hobby budget for this month.

I got these notifications today...........

Apple fixes zero-day that let attackers take over iPhones and Macs
Apple has released emergency updates for iPhone, iPad, Mac, and more to fix a zero-day already being exploited in the wild.

Six Windows zero-days are already under attack
Microsoft patched 59 security flaws this month. Six of them were already being exploited by attackers.

100% chance of weather here today. T-shirt weather with lots of sunshine.

Take care....John

Well, it seems u-tube is blocking duckplayer today. I guess i'll be spending time searching for more trains or watching movies. I'd watch vimeo but nothing interesting or appealing, at least on the home page. Most of my searches end up with nothing good to watch.

I finally got tired of all the ice clogging up my roof gutters and I have roof heating wires to prevent this but this year's 15 inches of snow on the roof was too much for even them. I decided to hook in the hot water line to my outdoor faucet. I needed some extra values to accomplish this, but it's done and it worked. Now I can have either or hot or cold water going to my outdoor faucet. I cleaned out all the gutters with hot boiler water. Swal

This just in. Robert Duvall has passed at age 95
We lost a true legend. :(

"I call that bold talk for a one-eyed fat man" is a line spoken by Ned Pepper, played by Robert Duval in the 1969 film True Grit.

"Fill your hands you son of a bitch!" was Rooster Cogburn's response. We all (should) know John Wayne played Rooster.

One of my all-time favorite movie's great scenes!
