Good day all. Just a quick update.
Spent all yesterday in Le Havre. It is one of Dawn's favourite places as she visited there for a few months when she was a teenager. Off course a lot has changed since she was there, but the memories remain.

We woke this morning to find that we have departed France and are at sea. Westward we travel.

Good morning all!

Not quite as warm today as yesterday. We broke the record yesterday with a high of 66F. Old record was 60F. It was realty weird to be
put and about and see many people out in shorts an T-shirts. I did have shorts on with a sweatshirt.

Currently 35F with an expected high of 57F. Its mostly cloudy but might see some sun later this morning.

Not sure what I will be doing today other than usual household chores. Wife and daughter return to work and
school so it should be back to normal weekday for me.

Have a safe day everyone!

Well, howdy there internet peeps, and those still not in "the FILES"

It's Troy again.

D-2 until flying. D-3 until cruise ship.

Doing a bunch of prep for vacation today. Some of which is getting the current book in progress downloaded to the laptop instead of on Dropbox. Normally I keep everything in the cloud, and backup to thumb drives, and a different cloud. But I need it all local since the internet on the cruise ship is expensive.

Plugged my wireless Mac Keyboard in this morning, saw it was down to 18% battery, and worried that the charge percent wasn't changing, even after I went to shower. Changed cables... changed chargers. Finally closed the control pannel and reopened it. Yep, the Mac control panel doesn't update the keyboard battery status live. You have to go off the keyboard then back onto it in the control panel.

Also, I wrote a blog post about the new game (well, I played it before, but stopped). Feel free to give it a read, or just look at the pretty pics.

I'm having an issue with my replacement Macbook that I couldn't figure out, and has Apple support staff stumped.
My new laptop works like it should in everything other than Apple TV. When I log in and authorize it, everything is great until I try to play a purchased tv show or movie, I then get an error telling me the computer is registered to another account, and will not play the video. I've tried everything I could think of, then everything Apple could think of, short of reformatting the laptop and reinstalling everything--which is still not a guarantee it will work.

I know it's doubtful ,but has anybody else run into this?

Morning all,

55° and cloudy with a high later of 70°. Windy today with a fire advisory as we're not supposed to get the gusts the the western half of the state will be seeing. We did set a new record high yesterday of 73°, breaking a record that was tied in 2017 with the record from 1898 of 72°.

Back in the office this morning with not a lot happening yet.

Day one of 3 this week and then on vacation next week. Not going anywhere as the weather isn't good anyplace we'd actually go. It's an I gotta burn it or lose it deal as the department is going to be a person short for 12 weeks starting this time next month (or sooner) and we've already been told no vacations until she gets back. We're moving some departments around city hall and remodeling after we move the Senior center to it's own location on April 1st. On April 16th, we move IT, communications and the Chamber of Commerce into the old Senior center to remodel and create new offices. Once that's complete, we move back to the new space and then remodel the old senior center space for the municipal court. They'll be moving out of the PD court building and then their space will used to expand the Police department.

For those that asked, I had my taxes done on Friday the 6th and my return was posted as pending in my bank on Saturday, which means I'll have it available later today due to the holiday yesterday.

Terry: Wish I could help, but I don't do Apple devices. It almost sounds like the replacement wasn't completely reset within Apple's accounts someplace. Never unregistered from a previous owner?

Good morning gang,

34° with a high near 50°. Right now the phone says it's sunny, I can't see a 1/8 of a mile for the fog. Warm air over snow, ugh.

Got looking at the inventory at home, thinking about re-activating my eBay account and getting rid of stuff I am not going to keep active.
Time to thin the herd.

We lost a true legend. :(

"I call that bold talk for a one-eyed fat man" is a line spoken by Ned Pepper, played by Robert Duval in the 1969 film True Grit.

"Fill your hands you son of a bitch!" was Rooster Cogburn's response. We all (should) know John Wayne played Rooster.

One of my all-time favorite movie's great scenes!

Seen neither movie and consider John Wayne over rated as an actor. My father in law was a huge fan and had in his garage/shop/hideaway/ drinking place videotape or CD of every movie Wayne ever made, constantly playing. Duval was good no doubt and played so many different characters.

We’re pretty sure it has something to do with my account, since I made sure everything worked properly, including Apple tv, before I went to the trouble of migrating everything.

Good morning! 45°F at 0730 heading for 63°F today, but cloudy. Tomorrow in the 70s.

I liked Duvall in M*A*S*H. I thought he was great in that movie. I never really saw any of his other stuff unless it was by accident.

Still playing with my camera but I'm getting used to it again.

Have a good day! Servus!

Good Morning All. Partly cloudy and 55°, heading back into the 70's again today. Still above average temperatures until Friday when the real February weather returns for a few days. No precipitation though. Still tee shirt and shorts weather until then.

Grilled a rib-eye last night since the weather was so nice. Southern-fried corn, sauteed mushrooms and garden salad rounded out the meal.

Another doctor visit today, this one with the PCP who always gets a check up after a hospital visit. It's at 9:30 and 45 miles away so I can't stay here long this morning. He's not going to tell me anything that I don't already know.

Finished up the DPM structure out in the train shed yesterday, at least for now. Windowsills painted and windows installed.

Might have to scrape that "Open" sign off the door, since it didn't turn out as intended. It's within a few inches of it's intended spot on the layout right now, somewhere in the midst of a 48" x 8" blank space between the main line and fascia. Just need to sort out a few other structures and lay out the final plan. That space has a church/cemetery on one end and a small-town business district on the other end. I have an idea, just need to see what fits and where.

Alan - I still enjoy driving and I always get from here to there in the least time possible. But my days are no more than 6 hours any more. No 11-12 hour driving days.
Michael - During her tax preparer days, my wife hated doing returns with EIC; said that almost every one was fraudulent. And most of those people were going to use their refund to bail someone out of jail.

Everybody have a great Tuesday.

The previous owner needs to de-register it in iTunes/Apple TV. That’s what I’m guessing.

OMG, I will pretend I never read that! 🤪

Honestly, my mom felt the same about John Wayne. She loved westerns, just not him. When her grandkids pitched in to give her the John Wayne movie collection on DVD, guess who she quietly passed it along to later. 😁

The remake of True Grit is absolutely worth checking out, as it shines as a fantastic western all on its own. And I thought I wouldn't like it, "who could replace John Wayne?!" I still like the original better, both are good.

I like that idea and I have the DVDs to do it!
