Interesting. Our local school did “Sadie’s” a while ago. Tonight is “sweetheart’s dance”. Another girls-preference. They run X dances a year. Something like 6. And half are boys choice and 1/2 are girl’s.

My daughter is at a brunch this morning that they prepared for their dates in her “group”. She and her friends always run the activities as groups.
I believe most of our area schools have already done Sadie's. Maybe due to tournaments and us hosting regionals gym time was a premium so they are combining Sadie's and Valentines into one event. This is all new to me since she went to Catholic grade school and they didn't put many events on like they do in the public schools.

At least this one is way more casual. Homecoming about did me in with the dress, nails, hair, flowers, etc..

@RhB Michael can probably relate! 🤣

Sounds like a unique way to travel. Never thought it would even be a possibility to travel by container ship.

Seems much more relaxed than a cruise ship. As much as I love going on cruises, sometimes the crowds and all the action cane
be a little much.
Cargo Ship Voyages is one company you can book through.
Travel on container ships can be a challenge though, as most have only the 'Owner's Suite/Cabin' on board. They do not have cabins for other passengers.

You may be wondering how we are on such a ship?
My family (not me I hasten to add) owned a shipping company. Before they sold it all in 1979 I was lucky to be around and seeing how the company worked. I also met owners of other companies (and their children). Some of those children I still know and they now manage Corporations much larger than a time long gone

Good Afternoon All. It's now 60° and we are experiencing a slight break in the thunderstorms. While the NWS was right with their forecast of rain today, they were quite far from accurate with their prediction of the amount. Right now it looks like 3" in the Mason jar, well above the forecast of 1". I'll have to venture out that far in a few minutes and empty it out! Yard is currently flooded between the back porch and the train shed, although I might head out that way while I am out.
Later.

Take your water wings, or pool floatie just in case you need to float back to the house.

Afternoon folks, currently 71 and rainy, cold front blew in not too long ago. ("Thunder in February, frost in April"?)

Last weekend I started on my little switching layout, a 24"x 66" board with cork sheet glued on top. The switches are nailed down, need to measure and cut the flex track, and finish putting it all in place. It's nothing fancy.

The main engine is currently in the shop getting rebuilt, so we ended up bringing a leased SW1000 in to run the tracks, but they sent it without couplers...What good is that??😆 (This one will eventually get overhauled as well)

Good afternoon to all..............

We have weather outside today and its nice.

I thought I would post a photo or two of my cat.
I received a package about 6 months ago and I put the box down next to my desk. My cat quickly put the box to good use. She is almost twice as big as the box but somehow makes herself comfortable in it.

Everybody have a great day.......John

Well I found a shot from over a year ago when I had two cats. These two were almost always together. I got both of them as kittens.
The orange cat was a male, "Punkin" was his name. However being a male, he like to venture off on his own sometime.
About a year ago he ventured up on the hiway and found he could not outrun a diesel truck, I guess thats what got him as he was flat from head to tail.

Take care....John

Good evening gang!

Gave the wife her Valentines and Birthday stuffs. Took her out shopping this afternoon, nothing crazy. BJ's , HD and stuff. Went to Mission Bar-b-q for dinner. Walking in I saw a sign for a stuffed baked potato that looked wonderful. So I ordered a portion of brisket, a 5 bone potion of ribs, and a potato. The the guy asked me if I wanted it stuffed with chicken, pulled pork or brisket. It seemed like a funny question to me but I said brisket. When they called me for my order The meats were on one tray, and the potato was on a tray next to it, covering 90% of a dinner plate! That was no potato! It was a football stuffed full of brisket, sour cream, butter and cheese!! I have NEVER in 65 years seen a potato that large. The waiter jokingly said the get them from Chernobyl !
Needles to say I ate the meats and about 1/4 of the potato and I was stuffed. 4 hours later I am still full! It is upstairs in the fridge ready to be lunch tomorrow. Wife got ribs and veggies and brought half of hers home too.
Mission BBQ for the win! (With the Memphis Belle BBQ sauce!)

While walking through HD they had a bunch of 9 drawer. 48 in long rolling tool boxes set up and on sale. In several colors, including a very attractive desert tan and an olive green. She started messing around with them saying how great 2 of them would be in her craft room for her Cricut and sewing needs. Also (dang she's smart) how useful one would be under the layout . If it were a black (one of the color options) it would match the facia and the skirting of the layout near my workbench. I said I would think about it. I wonder if the manager would cut me a deal on 3, no delivery,, I'll roll the up on the trailer myself and call the 4 boys over to help the hold man get them in the house!

Nite all!!

I wouldn't have even been able to get up after all of that food. Are you in Mission, Kansas? The Kansas City metro has some great bar-b-q places.
No, were in Maryland. Mission BBQ has locations in 23 states (none in Kansas) serving BBQ and related foods with a huge slice of gratitude and honoring of military, fire fighting and police forces. The busboy tonight came around and asked how are meals are and asked us "Don't that taste like freedom?"

And yes, I'm awake but moving a little slow!
