It's a paid thing in relation to me having Paramount+, but it was not a paid-in-advance sporting event.

It was the Pro-Am tournament too, not the Masters. It continues today at 1400 CST and they said the wind was supposed to be even worse today but from a different direction.

I don't watch golf and don't play golf either. I was just waiting for it to be over before the local news came on.

Oh the joys of being on a cargo ship. Although we are near Le Havre we are not booked in to arrive until 04.30 February 16th. It means another (wonderful) full day at sea. After a day or so in Le Havre we will continue our 98th voyage heading to the United States.

A mixed day weatherwise in the English Channel

David, do you have a trip lined up to return, or will you be stuck waiting for something once you reach New York?

We shall be visiting a Halfway House in Brooklyn. Our daughter worked there as a volunteer pre-Covid.
A visit to Allentown, Penn. My grandfather is buried there.
Meet family in Albany NY.

To Toronto and see our daughter & SiL.
Across Canada to Vancouver where hopefully a ship/s will take us to Australia to visit family.
Sail home via South Africa.

It is dinnertime.
Bye for now.

Afternoon folks, currently 66 with the sun coming out.

Finished laying down the track for the layout. Ran the switcher and boxcar along all turnouts, no rough spots or derails, so I'm calling that a win! Now to determine what kind of industries I'd prefer on it...

That Walther's Interstate Oil would let you deliver tank cars and boxcars and has a reasonably small footprint.

Anyway, it's 59 and sunny here today, watched our Church on live stream due to my back, it's nice to see the service, but man, I miss being there. G'niece Emma is over for a bit before she heads out for her Church in a bit, she's a regular here and stays overnight occasionally when working, then heads for school in the mornings. And @-Possum- that really does look nice.

Made it to 54°F here and is going to warm up for the rest of the week until Friday.

Another fairly nice first generation P99 popped up on Gunbroker today that is only about 8000 pistols into the series, but is showing more use and carry wear than I'd like to see. Not severe, but not new either. The starting price is right, but who knows where that'll end up in 9 more days.

Didn't make it to the train room. I ended up helping someone with a Bubba'd and chromed SVW44 P.38 that fires when a round is chambered.

May I ask what camera you are using for the photos on your voyage?

NorthBrit you can stop by my house on your way to Albany. I will not go anywhere near New York City though. What are you taking to Albany the New York State thruway crossing over the river vita the Tappan Zee Bridge. Lake Carmel is not on the thruway side, it's on east side of the Hudson River. You can cross the George Washington bridge and then head north but that bridge toll is $14.79 off peak hours heading to Albany or you can take The Cross Bronx's Expressway then I95 and then 684 which would bring you about 5 miles from my house. The Newburg Beacon bridge is only a $1.50 to cross the Hudson River. Swal

Check the firing pin channel. If chrome got in there, it may be causing the firing pin to not be able to retract.

I told him to check the firing pin lock and spring to be certain Bubba re-installed it. He didn't. It was also missing the firing pin retaining pin. The loaded chamber indicator pin spring looked suspect too, so he is replacing that as well. I also told him to remove the safety cylinder and check that part for cracks. It's a known failure point in the P.38. About as much fail as Bubba.

The channel was clear of chrome, but I warned him of that too.

He's going to order parts from Numrich.

Michael,

Here's the first 3 of the 9 rifles I picked up Wednesday. https://www.gunbroker.com/all/search?sort=13&includesellers=3860833&pagesize=48

We also just received about 100 firearms from a LEO agency. Evidence and confiscation pieces. I went through and found about 10 that were perfect for me to put online. The only one I think you may like is the mint 1992 West German "assembled" P226. There's also a Winchester Safari Express in .375 H&H.

NOW you get a 250-3000! I just picked up a 300!

I
Does that mean the numbers don't match on this P226?

Those rifles are very nice.
I’m guessing that because it says “assembled” they’re trying to differentiate it with US made guns. From what I could research Sig started making them in the U.S. as well in the middle late 80s so they were made in both places. I don’t know but it’s possible that parts made in the USA were also used in German made guns (and vice versa).

Was watching the Olympics, the Woman's Biathlon. Cross country skiing, and shooting. I thought this was a natural for the American gun culture. Found out we have never gotten a medal in biathlon in 25 years. What's wrong with this country?
We don’t really have a cross country skiing culture and the guns they shoot are wussie target 22s. Not a real man’s gun. ;)
