Good morning Coffee Shop, it's Sunday!
It's 41°F and a chance of rain here.
Have a great day!
Apparently I wasn't subject to this because I did not go outside and destroy my Ford Escape.
I can't answer and my wife isn't home right now. But here's what I learned from AI:Willie one more tax question. I'm looking online for someone to give me tax advice on how to enter a Funeral Trust on my income tax. They all say I can't answer any tax questions. I have to hire a tax consultant. I guess there's a tax consultant union or something. Anyway, I prepaid my funeral, and the funeral home put the money into a Funeral Trust. I don't see a form for it on H&R Block's tax software. Have any ideas on how to add this. Swal
Hope this gives you some guidanceQualified Funeral Trusts (QFTs) generally require the trustee to file
Form 1041-QFT to report income, deductions, and gains. As an individual beneficiary, you usually do not report this income on your personal return unless the trust is not a QFT; interest earned is typically taxed at the trust level, not to the individual.
Key Details for Reporting
For specific, personalized guidance, consult a tax professional.
- Trustee Responsibility: The trustee must file Form 1041-QFT to report income, deductions, gains, and losses.
- Composite Return: A trustee may file one aggregate Form 1041-QFT for all QFTs they manage.
- Tax Treatment: The trust itself is taxed on earnings (interest, dividends, capital gains).
- Individual Reporting: If you are the beneficiary, you generally do not need to report the interest on your personal return, as the trust handles this, though you may receive information from the trustee.
- Non-QFT Trusts: If the trust does not qualify as a QFT, it may need to be reported on Form 1041.
I did see that Willie when I looked online for some info on the subject, but that form is not listed in the H&R Block's forms list. They have a list of forms but that's not one of them. I guess I'll have to call them, but you never get to talk to a real person which would help. I guess they don't want to pay their health care etc. SwalI can't answer and my wife isn't home right now. Michael that's a paid thing, right? I don't pay to watch any sports anymore. If they want to put it on for free, I'll watch. SwalDid anyone see the very end of the Master's Tournament at Pebble Beach yesterday? I watched the last 15 minutes and it took every bit of that to sink three balls on the 18th. The wind was so bad coming off of the ocean that the balls wouldn't stay still on the green. Two strokes within about 6' of the hole were both misses due to the wind. I never saw anything like that.
One stroke that rounded the cup started to roll backwards and they called the ball still in play until it finally stopped edging towards the cup. It was close. Another inch or so and it would have fallen in.
It was free. I watched part of it.Michael that's a paid thing, right? I don't pay to watch any sports anymore. If they want to put it on for free, I'll watch. Swal
