I did quite well, for 15 years, after dumping the financial advisor. Recently, when the big boys tanked the market while taking a tantrum over the Feds rate policy, I didn't go defensive, because I was getting decent yields from my dividend stocks. Now, all of a sudden, even great quarterly results don't insure stability and growth. I think they are using AI, rather than people because everything is analytics based.
The facts and figure say following the curve produces better results than paying a manager to try to best it. this is not advice, just my own observation, of course there are ups and downs, but atm there is definitly recovery and up, and even if tech completely collapsed that is 30 percent leaving 70 percent and not likely they will all collapse. It is how long you can afford to hold out for a recovery that matters. Owning your shares personally is safer imo.
not convinced about nvidia tho, I would not follow individual shares myself…shudders. Nice returns today record breaking

.
It is a case of holding your nerve, and awaiting an upswing…and hopefully you can afford to do so.
UK investors also have to watch the dollar/pound, a failing pound gives us bigger returns, a strong pound diminishing, which means your betting against the UK if investing in dollar shares. so have to watch both so as to not accidentally back stab yourself, but at time can do a double bubble.
But if you look at the ftse you weep.
Global in time of such unrest is not my comfort art zone, especially as the US dominate that as well. the UK Gov has failed to support the FTSE for years, resulting in a long decline, saddens me. Their recent panic attempts have not gone well.
sandp has a record today, how quickly the pendulum swings.
Could say a lot more, but probably said too much. suffice to say certain people get richer, most people get crushed.
