To be fair the UK are appalling at losing power especially in those areas where the fines are low, too much of our water dates back to Victorian times, and much of our electricity is long overdue replacement and when the water companies let effluence (family forum) hit our rivers the gov tuts hands out a little fine and the companies say ooh need to increase prices to cover this. ooh bigger profits and bonuses yeah….throw some more garbage in the rivers!
I remember learning when they designed the waste water system for London, the original intent was for the water from the Thames to move the waste water downstream and away from the city. This plan failed miserably when the waste water just kind of sat there, surrounding the city like a foul-smelling moat. While it didn't work as intended, it certainly gave potential invaders pause...

Jaz. You are 'missing' on the UK site NRM.?
I have recently been loitering on modelrailforum.com.

You can see the similarity plus shakes head lol I just went and deleted the link that would not work here and my logical brain 🧠 was DOH!

Jaz. No wonder you were lost. I lost you when you said you have been loitering -. 🤣

Good morning gang!

28° and partly cloudy under a cotton candy colored sky! Looking for a high in the lower 50s today.
Ah well I have just acquired (found stashed in a drawer) some little (minuscule) figures of birds smaller even than the pigeons but I do not plan to be defeated
Paint them all as Starlings, one spray can of black should do fine!

Probably because the sugar laden blood is NOT going to the brain…sniggers
NOT gonna touch that one with a 10 ft pole!

Sounds like life has been quite eventful the last few months! :D

Morning all,

Currently 48°, clear and windy. High later of 67°.

Please tell me he let you off with a stern warning!
Hades will freeze before I ever get a warning ticket. I have never received a warning ticket. While all my previous tickets were for speeding, this was my first for a non speeding violation. And I really can't argue as the migraine brain fog was still in effect and I may have driven through it, although I think it changed to yellow as I entered the intersection. I took it as a sign I should not go to work. After all I have almost 9 weeks of sick time.

Jaz: Welcome back! We missed you.

And in other news, yesterday I trimmed to size, routered the hinge mortices, and drilled out for the knob/latch on the door to the wife's office loo.

Today sounds like a good day to get the power drill, and the circular lint cleaning brush, and shove it up the dryer vent pipe. Because, who doesn't want good clean lint for their dryer?

Good morning from another airport on a different day but the second one already today. I am waiting for the flight into Madison from Dallas. I am going home! The knee feels decent this morning but I am not able to handle pain meds stronger then Tylenol and Ibuprofen. I knew I should not have taken that codiene laced Tylenol yesterday. But I did and didn’t sleep but maybe for an hour last night. So around 3 I made the decision and purchased my tickets, woke the son up and said my good byes. Flight at 5:40, Austin to Dallas was 1/2 full.

The Monday before Thanksgiving 2022 I hurt my knee and had surgery. Other than the initial injury it was never this continously painful. The MRI shows nothing torn per the MRI tech and the doctor who reviewed it. They sent it on to my orthopedic surgeon who his nurse said he will review it after his surgeries this morning. Well, I’ll be home if he needs to see me. Dr. ME thinks I need the fluid drained to relieve the swelling and pain.

I read an email I missed reading on Tuesday from Scaletrains. The pre-ordered reefers should at their warehouse late this week! I really thought we’d see them in March but it’s fine… I just before typing here put the credit card info on my order and I’m sure made the Tennessee economy a little bit better

TROY, do you think it’s really JAZa who has returned? Seems to me there are too many punctuation marks in the correct spot plus there is spacing. There doesn’t seem to be enough run on sentences to confirm…

Some of her run on sentences bordered on legendary

Just kidding JazA you know we missed you…

enjoy your day

Good Morning All. Clear and 55° in this part of the world. Warmer into the 70's today and tomorrow, then back to 50's and 60's for the next week. It's been nice the past week or so not having to carry firewood inside, but that will end Saturday through Monday. Actually I will bring more in today due to the potential of rain on Saturday (50%) and Sunday (100%).

It's Thursday, the weekly grocery trek is today. Wife will go with me this week as she is out of wine! A stop back at Home Depot to see if they have the red onion plants that they were out of last week, need to get them in before the predicted rain. Yesterday I did get my radishes planted as planned. It wasn't a real chore and took just 15 minutes.

Out in the train shed yesterday, I started on the ground foam in the cemetery area. The fencing was installed and then uninstalled while I do the foam. Inspected and cleaned a few more freight cars.

Something a little different today, as I do not have time this morning to look through the archive for pictures to post. I'll get back to the normal schedule tomorrow.

Joe - It is my opinion that the NWS has "dumbed down" faster and more so than most other government bureaucracies. They're getting close to giving Congress "a run for the money". We now have names for cold fronts, heatwaves and rain showers among other named weather events. Used to be just hurricanes!
Troy - Must be tough keeping up with all of the medical stuff happening around you. Best wishes for everyone.
Terry - Good Luck on the employment shift.

Everyone have a great day.

Good morning All!!!
I see the "Station Cat" found her way back.
So glad she did! :)
Flo, if I may, I'd like the Western Omelette with home fries and rye toast.
Strawberry jam too?
Coffee would be great! Thanks for asking.
Oh? By the way, new perfume? I like it!

Was specifically talking about snow impacting electric trains.

Good morning everyone!

Happy Thursday, we are almost there!

The fog has gone away, and we will actually see the sun today with a high of 57 degrees. This should do a number on the remaining big piles of snow. All the ground snow has been gone for several days.

I know there is still some winter left in the tank, but last night I was out at 5:30 and it hadn't totally gotten dark yet. We have gained an hour of sunlight in the Midwest. That's always nice to see!

Hope everyone has a great day!

Willie since I paid my $139.00 to Youtube so I can watch rock concerts ad free I been watching a lot of them.
I was watching the 100 best rocks songs of all time last night and noticed the guy you like Peter Frampton was not mentioned once.
What's up with that? I did guess what the number one song was going to be when it started the count down from 100. Do you know what it was?

I received mine as well. I'm super excited to get a hold of these. Ever since I switched eras to present day, I had wanted these cars produced. I had actually lost hope we would ever see these cars produced, as no one seemed interested in doing the. This is going to be a money printing machine for them!

Now if we can get them or another MFG to produce modern Cryotrans or Lineage reefers!

Welp, howdy there internet peeps

It's Troy again... still waiting to hear what the kidney docs say.

Here's how my morning has gone:

That's a three gallon bucket with about three inches of fluff in it.

Our condo's roof is a pain to get up on (slick vinyl shingles. and three stories up). So I always stop before I get to the roofline. Shoved the leaf blower in the tube, and sent some air up to the rest out. Didn't see much on the roof, but the sun was right behind the roof vent, so I'll check later.

I didn't hear any scampering, so, hopefully the birds and chipmonks haven't taken up roost there.

Something has changed since my wife no longer lives here being she's going to be in a nursing home for the rest of her life. My love of going downstairs to work on the layout is not what it used to be now that she's gone. Maybe because I may have to sell the house. I don't know but it's not the same. I guess now being here by myself I want to spend more time with my friends on the golf course. Having company you know. Where will I be in 10 years, I hope collecting some money I just won on the golf course.

Something has changed since my wife no longer lives here....
I can relate.
Have struggled with "Changes" all of my life.
The ones in "Later" years seem to be the most difficult.
Once had an old timer tell me that I was never going to be happy again, but to try and make myself comfortable.
The thing I love about model railroading is no matter how much times passes, one can simply restart as there's no expiration dates in this miniature world.
