Well, I've decided I've had about enough of the shenanigans at the place I work. While I've been fighting tooth and nail to scrape together 10 hours of billable time per week, the techs on the other end of the shop are swimming in work, and complaining they don't have time to get to it all. We have 190 units sitting, waiting for work--but I stand around with empty bays.
I sent out a couple of resumes, and got bites from two local companies. I'll see what they have to offer--while remembering where I am now gave me an offer that "sounded" really good.
If all else fails, don your amish hat and button up trousers, and move to Elkhart/Goshen Indiana, the RV manufacturing capitol of the world. The Amish workers building the RVs you work on get paid piece rate, and churn them out fast.

Good evening. Following the Maple Leafs - Dallas game. 3 - 2 Toronto starting the 3rd. Minimal work accomplished on the layout today. I removed some old road bed, and cut foam board for a base for the Scott Building. Looks like the track is ok where it's at. I do have to repair / replace the switches on the lead, for performance issues. Caught a nap before dinner today. Tomorrow, the car goes to the shop for some minor work.

Temperatures made it to 48° today, and it remained sunny. 27° now, 50° tomorrow. I'm enjoying this weather, having ventured out several times. Experience tells me Winter isn't finished, no matter what that dopey groundhog indicated. Read an article about the day in 1958 that the snow brought the GG1 to its knees. I thought it was cool, watching the parade of RF&P, SAL, and ACL Diesels pulling passenger trains, in electrified territory.

Omg there is absolutely no way I am going back and catching up…..gulps

if i make any faux pas please boot me up the bum and tell me what I did wrong…..

and hands up I accidentally wiped my history, and being uk based I could not trace this US site, then smudge posted on a UK railroad group where I was loitering, I asked for the link, advising I was going to blame him for me finding my way back, so any complaints for my return….address to him……sniggers…

Doesn’t seem to stop the rest of the world.
To be fair the UK are appalling at losing power especially in those areas where the fines are low, too much of our water dates back to Victorian times, and much of our electricity is long overdue replacement and when the water companies let effluence (family forum) hit our rivers the gov tuts hands out a little fine and the companies say ooh need to increase prices to cover this. ooh bigger profits and bonuses yeah….throw some more garbage in the rivers!

Willie I have a hard time remembering my own logins and passwords without chasing after someone on walkabout. 🤣🤣
Glad Chris showed her the way back.
Strange thing was when I typed in the forum it said could not find the link, I checked spelling, nope, I cut and pasted, nope……so 3 times I have had to go to my uk forum and use Smudges link…..ok who tried locking the door behind me :P

Ah well I have just acquired (found stashed in a drawer) some little (minuscule) figures of birds smaller even than the pigeons but I do not plan to be defeated
