knock, knock ! anyone home? open the door - it's cold outside and I need a shot of coffee, pease!
Dr wanted to do "contrasting scan" yesterday- which, ahead of time - I was not notified of and blood draw to boot.
I was half hour late for the appointment because it was set for 9:45 - not 10:45; after seeing the vampire and getting the thingy in my arm for the dye - the Dr changed it to a NON contrasting scan because some kidney function came back elevated, so now I get to try and find out what that is all about? While I was there I went ahead and received a first Shingles preventative injection so they would quit asking me about it each time I poked my head in a door ... also asked me about the 4th Covid booster - I have decided that I want NO MORE Covid shots as many here in the family have had Covid including Spousal Unit and kids, grand kids, and friends - I either have immunity or have just been extremely lucky.
I have one flying story that I recalled after the discussion of the "lost" engine.
I started my career as a Flight Engineer on the Constellation - 4 engine prop airplane. I had a pretty large panel to keep up with that had most all the engine, prop, electrical, fuel, and A/C controls. Departing Pittsburgh one snowy night, the #3 engine decided to swallow a valve when the aircraft had just become airborne and was vibrating like crazy - lighting up my panel like a Christmas Tree.
Now, The Captain was one who became very excited about almost anything and was only a year or two from retirement. With the airplane shaking - he was stuttering trying to say for me to "feather the prop", but all he could say was F -Fe-Feth ... then he yelled "Fight the Fire"! The Co-pilot and I about busted a gut laughing; you had to be there to appreciate the scene.
OK, I'm done! FLO - please let me in?
