Good Morning!
31F this morning with the moon just setting in the west. It will be a clear, sunny day, though, there will be wind.

I'm enjoying the vehicle collection photos that are being posted. This is great!
I'm enjoying it so much, that I set up and took a quick photo of my small collection:

I expect to increase that humble collection by 4x vehicles within a couple of weeks. Plus, I have a few Sylvan tractor/trailer kits to build, that will put a few trucks in the mix. I'm trying to keep it all within reach of 1965.

Can't be in here too long; I'll be working on the wife's plant grow station project, instead of wasting time on the super-bowl. I'll have to tear apart some of the basement ceiling, so I can get some electric wiring directed up to the main floor level. Today is a good day to fish in some wires. - I need to get this out of the way, so I can get back to hobby work.

Again, wonderful photos folks! I hope this keeps up over time.

Time to go. Have a great day!!
That’s a nice collection thanks for taking the time to share it.

Good morning, Happy Sunday!

Bad checks are a real profit eater and most stations in Central and Northern Wisconsin have gone to refusing checks.

People still use checks?

Super Bowl? Other than a passing interest, and looking up the final score, no. I'm just not all that interested.

Watched Smokey and the Bandit II last night, and laughed hysterically. Amazing how entertaining a cast of deceased actors could be...

Cars I don't have much of. Most of my scenes are some sort of trucking. I detail them with chrome wheels with the planetary hubs, paint the marker lights and tank straps and add fenders (lowboy tractor)View attachment 140862View attachment 140863View attachment 140864View attachment 140865View attachment 140866
Detailed trucks need custom trailers. The dump trailers I added tag axles, I did two with the axle up and two down. The lowboy with the excavator I had to look a few to find one that folded up all the way, most don't for transport. The 3 axle intermodal trailers are scratch built. They are the old 20' Athearn kits. Put 2 together to haul one 40', 2 20', or one single 20'.View attachment 140867View attachment 140868View attachment 140869View attachment 140870
Wow those Triaxle chassis look just like the ones my Boss bought new back around 1997. I'll get some pics of them there pretty trashed out now we don’t use them much anymore. Thanks for sharing

I used to drive something similar, I wonder if you can get a European trailer, that's 1x40' or 1x30' or 2x20' :)

Here’s some Truck pics off my HO layout most of them were Custom Built by me.

Good morning, again. It's now lightly raining and 37.
Friday, I was taking a look at my tool inventory at work, and decided if I wanted to make a good first impression, I should probably get something that doesn't look like I found it in a dumpster. The people where I work don't take any particular care as to what their stuff looks like, nor if they damage your stuff while they're working.
Anyway, I looked through Fecesbook, and found what looked like a nice, collector-series Mac toolbox with included tool set, painted and lettered for West Coast Choppers. They were ungodly expensive when new, so I went to pick it up. So.... While what was there was the advertised item, to say it wasn't quite in the condition stated would be the understatement of the year. After some pretty serious renegotiating, I got the box and all the remaining tools for less than $200.
While the new, improved price was right, it didn't solve my concern. In fact, now I have even more tools with nothing "presentable" to put them in. I returned to the scene of the crime, and found a much better box, advertised as "like new", for a reasonable price. I went this morning, and picked it up. While not exactly "like new", it isn't going to be an embarrassment to use.
Now, I just need to finish removing my tools from where I work now before the end of the week.

Yes people do and it get pretty annoying in the grocery store line. While I haven’t written a check in 10+ years some folks don’t have credit or debit cards.

I don’t use a credit card either. Just the debit.

Haven't seen a cheque in years, everything's done online now, as for Debit and Credit cards, I always use a Credit card when buying online as you get your money back if it goes sideways, Debit card, it's gone, no way of getting your cash back.

Nice little collection. I remember when. Then it got out of hand! 😂

We don't write checks in stores anymore, but my wife does use them to pay the monthly bills. Most places around here won't take them unless you're a regular, or unless they can use them to direct debit your account

That structure is actually ~90% scratchbuilt from Evergreen styrene, the only 'kit' parts are the roof and the forward part of the arches from Vollmer's European McDonalds kit: https://www.ebay.com/itm/3339491686...BWOLILG4hvqVy6adDFbZVOhq3URtMhIAaAv2QEALw_wcB
The signs and stripes are from home-printed decals, the "aluminum" window panes are Microscale silver stripe decals on clear plastic. I used a photograph of an "M" arch billboard to trace and carve-out the billboard on 1/8" thick styrene.
Unfortunately I did not photo-document the construction, because I was kind of muddling my way thru it and didn't know if it would end successfully...
L o v e it!
