JOHN: Ugh! You have my sympathies. Been there with a flooding disaster. Best wishes on getting everything fixed
Not much to report. Went to Pizza Hut for lunch. Did the Sunday chores, then took a nap.
Wife took some of her Gimbap over to her sister today during the mother visit. Haven't heard if she liked it or not. Daughter saw the pics, and texted that she wanted some. Here it is prior to being cut.
Yellow is egg. Orange is carrot, green is spinach, red is bell pepper, brown is mushroom. White is rice, dark green wrap is seaweed. She lost me with egg and fungus. Two things I prefer not to taste.
Here's a holiday funny for you.
I pulled out Lance Mindheim's "How to design a Model Railroad" to go back over the parts I highlighted to make sure I'm covering the parts that resonated with me from the first read. I'll be giving that a re-read this evening.
Speaking of Back in the day, I finally completed this Walthers kit.
Dates back to 1990 and the box has a price tag of $9.98. Came with X2f couplers, and plastic wheels. Light weathering pending. Cars brought flour to Hostess Bakery in Sayerville, NJ back in the 90s.
I sit here today after I sent out all the Christmas cards. watching the colts lose MY STEELERS WIN and as of the time of the post THE PACKERS ARE WINNING. good day of football. AFter I get my court fees paid off I've been looking at fleischmann models because I don't wanna do basically a new scale with marklin. but for the season its o scale season I got the f units out got them on track looking pretty. also does any one have experience with British N gauge I'm wanting some British stuff in either oo scale or n gauge but I haven't made up my mind. anyway bless all of you

Agree with migaylto. I do both.
N-scale - UK models use what they call NEM couplings, which is a socket system and the coupler gets pushed in. In N scale, knuckles are few and far between. I have only found Dapol making them. They big square ugly things are prevalent (rapido?).
OO - provides a lot of detailing in the cab. They also use NEM couplings which are called tension lock. Kadee makes a knuckle for this.
And more models are being offered with a firebox flicker led.
Issues that I have encountered with both is that the factory puts way too much oil. I have had to degrease them to get them to run more reliably.
I wish they would get into UK steam. The owner does have an interest in UK stuff and his factory has a few of them, but they have only put out the electric trains so far.
Agree with OO scale, once I figured out that I had to squeeze the tabs in with a set of sturdy tweezers to get them to pop out. Before that, I was always in jeopardy of breaking some of the fine details while trying to wrestle them out.

I finally got around to doing something constructive today in the basement. Pulled out some old Wallers white metal kits for dwarf signals. I need 4 but found six kits so I figured I would build them all, that way when the time came for the others they would be ready
Dwarf signals, not the kind of dwarfs that Troy is familiar with.
They will all get 3mm LEDs instead of the supplied bulbs. They will illuminate red when ever my lift bridge is raised and the tracks beyond them will go dead when the bridge is raised. When the bridge is locked in place they will go dark and track power will return. At least that is what I think is going to happen, if I do the wiring right with the relays.
Evening folks, currently 49 and breezy. Yesterday me and my dad took a little drive to an automotive swap meet we try to hit up every year, well we arrived and the parking lot was completely empty. I guess I had my weekends mixed up. Though the assembly hall that shares the complex had a gun show, so we went to that to not make it a wasted trip. Saw some nice stuff, but nothing worth taking home. Stopped by Schlotzsky's afterwards. Today I woke with a migraine and was pretty useless for half the day. After that was over, we got the lights strung up on the house about the same time a cold front rolled in.
In toy train news, parts came in for my switcher project so I'll be hopping back onto that.
