We have a similar 'cheese' here in the U.K. We give it a very wide berth where it is sold.Don't knock it without trying it
It has its place but I wouldn't confuse it for real cheese. I like real cheese much better but this has its place.
Nothing wrong with that, old timer. I don't like any cheese ...arguably because, it don't like me.you're wondering what went wrong with me that I don't like the American cheezes.

Wondered when someone would pull Monty Python out ...and now for something completely different
David - Chad is correct, American Cheese is not really cheese at all. Note that it says "cheese product" on the leading brand from Kraft.

It works for burgers and grilled cheese sandwiches and a few other things.
We have Kraft Singles, which is bad (imo) and there is a cheese that is sold wholesale to businesses. I do not know the name, but it is absolutely terrible. What do they call it?
It was only a matter of time!Wondered when someone would pull Monty Python out ...
Must be the same family as Velvetta?Willie, that's not real cheese. Notice even the label says Pasteurized Processed Cheese Food. Look closer and find out that is is largely hydrogenated vegetable oil. Boo Hiss!! I refuse to eat it.
Think that's most of us anyway isn't it? But it could be worse, could have described it as "the old farts club"Hey, I resemble that remark.![]()
So what is your take on cheesecake.Willie, that's not real cheese. Notice even the label says Pasteurized Processed Cheese Food. Look closer and find out that is is largely hydrogenated vegetable oil. Boo Hiss!! I refuse to eat it.
I prefer real cheese from the Deli counter at the supermarket or the local delicatessen.
Does that make me a cheese snob??
