David - Chad is correct, American Cheese is not really cheese at all. Note that it says "cheese product" on the leading brand from Kraft.

It is individually wrapped in plastic.

It works for burgers and grilled cheese sandwiches and a few other things.

Afternoon All,

Started out with chores then took Dad to the VA, only to find out he hasn't been taking his lung meds (for no reason) and now he has mucous in his lungs. W.T.H.

Cheesegate: I like American Cheese on sandwiches hot or cold. I don't like cooked cheddar but like it chilled.

Karl- Great job on the motive power.

Bill- The town reminds me of older western towns.

Willie- Nice job on the radiator.

I hope everyone has a good night.

Willie, that's not real cheese. Notice even the label says Pasteurized Processed Cheese Food. Look closer and find out that is is largely hydrogenated vegetable oil. Boo Hiss!! I refuse to eat it.
I prefer real cheese from the Deli counter at the supermarket or the local delicatessen.
Does that make me a cheese snob??

I forgot "grilled cheese sandwich". I agree it works on burgers, the aforementioned sandwiches, and things like fried egg sandwiches.

Real cheese for most things though and also can be used for the above uses as well.

A British author friend just posted this pic on her FB page...

I pointed out that Americans might get the wrong connotation about a cookie/biscuit named "Digestive"

In other news, I finally completed the bar purchases enough to do a proper Vieux Carré

It's yummy, despite the name. I did skip half of the bitters, though.

3/4oz each bourbon (going to try Rye next time), Sw Vermouth, Cognac. 1/2 oz Benedictine, and one dash each of Angostura and Peychaud's bitters. (I'm not big on bitters, so double the bitters if you like them).
