You should have seen me Friday night when i was brought into the ER. So compared to then I am many times better!!
Ken, I'm pretty sure you are the last one of us here to see me before the diagnosis. When was that? May?

That's a horribly tough row you're hoeing
Eric, but you've still got hair

. A bit flippant maybe. But seeing you came into the ER probably, on your back, the fact that you're back on your feet speaks volumes for YOUR toughness. Every time that word "back" is in the vertical plane, after bouts of horizontal, the more likely you'll beat this.
Eric - Echoing what Toot said, being on your feet speaks volumes. You'll beat this, just hang in there.

That was early August, you had already been
told you have cancer but gotten no treatment for it yet. You looked similar to the way I did when I got the Mumps, you look
much better now!

Good morning. It's clear and 50.
Looking good E! Hammer back at it!
37 degrees and I missed my scooting window yesterday mucking about with that dishwasher, only took two days so it was actually pretty smooth compared to the cluster jobs normally turn into around here. A "custom" kitchen she had to have, "custom" pains it gives me!
Good morning all - 27 and sunny in SW Missouri. Chance of rain next five days.
Ken - "Holy Moly" - 15 years ago and that spider bite still affects your friend. That's insane!
Terry - Sorry about the Service manager's situation, but enjoy the "down time."
Eric - With everyone else, we're pulling for ya - Beat this thing!!
Johnny
Good Morning Everybody. Clear and 35° here in North Central Texas this morning. We've had some beautiful days here lately, temperatures in the mid to upper 60's and sunshine. Great for working outdoors...a couple more coming up then rain in the forecast for Saturday. Finished getting the first 200 sq. ft. of the garden ready for spring planting. Only 800 sq. ft. to go. Still harvesting radishes and lettuce from the fall garden.
Out in the train shed, I opened two stashed RTR freight cars. Had to add 1 oz of weight to an Athearn covered hopper (10 pennies and Goo); and had to do some reconstructive work on an Intermountain corn oil tanker. Safety railings were bent, detached and skewed. Also had to add the brake hoses to that one, supplied but not installed. The Athearn car purchased in 2013, is an older blue-box type assembled by someone in China. It came with scale couplers, metal wheels, enhanced graphics and an etched walkover platform on each end. Not bad for $15.79. Used to cost me $4-$5 unassembled back in the early 90's and I had to buy the wheels and couplers as well.
Curt - Rough modeling day. Rule #17 on the list I posted last week, "In this hobby "do over’s" are a fact of life". Hope that today goes better.
Johnny - Hang in there on the 1" x 4"'s. I sometimes considered ripping a 3/4" sheet of plywood into 3 1/2" strips, but the cost was a factor. That and I don't own a table saw. Does make for some nice looking benchwork though!
Bruce - Good to hear that you overcame your dishwasher woes. My wife was ecstatic when she learned the first time that I could maintain the dishwasher. She could care less about any other appliance...well that was back over 40 years ago, she cares about all of them now. That probably sealed the deal on our marriage!!!
Justin - Close call to a floor model!!!
Everyone have a great day.

I'm moving the furniture and computer desk into the fridge for the next 7 days. A heat wave with temps all up in the 90's is forecast, starting tomorrow. Hot air is moving across from the inland deserts. At least in there I'll have access to some cold desserts.
Good morning everybody ....
Toot .... Thanks for the report about hot air from the desert and cold desserts.
Eric .... Your returned home to Illinois, and look what they did to you. Yikes. .... Hang in there. We care about you.
Willie .... Sounds like you are busy working with freight cars.
Speaking of freight cars, I am currently upgrading a junker Tyco 50' flat car. I removed unwanted stuff from the deck. Replaced the trucks. Installed Kadee #5's to the car body. Repainted and lettered it. Next: Weathering. Details. Load.
Thank you all for the encouraging words. That means a lot to me. I know I'm hoeing some mighty tough dirt here and it's good to know I have backup with you all!!!

Good Morning. 27 degrees to start off the day.
Eric - It's good to see you, but maybe not. I really feel for you. I have had friends and family who have gone through that and it is rough. I think you have more plumbing there than I have in my house. I do see one good thing, you are vertical, not horizontal. Hang in there buddy.
Willie - Our gardening season out here is long over. Normally Labor Day is when it usually ends, but it was a bit milder this year and people with gardens had almost a month extra. At least you were able to get a little work done on your trains. I keep strips of quarter ounce self adhesive weights on a parts drawer for adding weight to cars.
Curt - You just can seem to get a break on this project. Must be a bit frustrating, but when it's done, it should be well worth the effort.
Justin - At least it was only one car.
Johnny - Most carpenters today wouldn't know what to do with a straight piece of lumber. They're not properly drying the lumber most of the time and sending it out with too much moisture to get it to the retailers.
Bruce - We just went through two summers of renovation. The wife got her new kitchen and all new appliances last year. Thought I was done and in the clear until this year she decided we had to remodel the last two upstairs bedrooms. Blew out a closet wall and opened the two bedroom up into one larger room. Last weekend we finally got the last piece of the puzzle completed. We got rid of the old closet sliding doors and had to order some custom size bi-fold doors to finish the closet. The first set came in damage around Labor Day. We finally got the replacements a couple of weeks ago and got them painted and at last installed last weekend.
I am now hoping that there will be not more remodeling work. I would rather spend the summer taking road trips instead of working on the house.
Happy wife, happy life.

Good early afternoon fellers. Well in a few minutes anyways. Someone mentioned the horrible ugly floor model phrase!!!! At least my derail went the other way. It's odd in itself as typically I don't have any derails in that section. But it was one car in a four car train so not like it was the end of the world. Eric it's good to see you are back with us again. I do pray that you get better.

Checking in with a 52 temp going to 63 today with severe clear and calm. A very nice 72 yesterday.
ERIC Good to see and hear. Keep on trucking!
