The days running is over (for now)
Ran to "the mechanics" shop, the to visit with son #1, then haircut and HD. I feel like I spent hours on the road. My C&O 2-6-6-2 is back home . When I got her, it was an ebay find, not running, ie cheap. Put it on the rails and nothing but a short circuit. Found that easy enough as the rear tender truck had been installed backward. Easy fix, NOT! After the "fix" the headlight worked but that was it. The motor hummed like it was trying but no movement. I was assuming the worse, that it would need remotoring and new gear boxes. Plus the previous owner had added a ton of lead to it. My fried gave her a major weight reduction, 2 new Boo Rim gearboxes, new Canon motor, marker light housings and a boiler backhead, plus removed all the poor paint job. Back to bare brass, but I can fix that! She runs great on DC for now.

Next time you will see her, she'll have DCC, sound and paint, probably as WMSR 1309 or C&O 1309. I'm not sure which.
Also home are 2 Western Maryland H-9 Consolidations with new motor and gear boxes, they also need paint. They will join the other 3 Consols waiting for paint.

But 1st, I've got a bunch of wiring to do on the layout, I hope to get some of that done tomorrow while the Nascar race is on.

There are several Culvers near me in Florida.
Can you send one up Rt 95 to here? It sounds good, all we have up here is Mickey D's, BK, Roy Rogers, Taco Hell, DQ, Wendy's and Sonic. Boooooring!!

In the Marine Corps we called that 💩faced.
We call it the same thing, Marine or not!! 🤔

Id tell you to have a safe flight, but by the time I seen your post you would have already landed.

Enjoy your get-away!
I am a spoiled flier as I get to occasionally get to fly on private jets hitching rides on my brother’s friends toys. I truly though had a nice flight direct from Madison’s Dane County Airport to LAX for $238 including taxes. Good nice CLEAN decent sized seats, a clean airplane and a very friendly staff. 4 hours direct was good. The carry on was $35 but it was on my last flight in May on American…

The 40 year anniversary is this year and they expect to be in 40 states by the end of the year

The one in Verona is 1 mile from the house. It opens at 10am and closes at 11pm. It always seems to be busy no matter what time we walk or drive by. I cannot say the same about the McDonalds 2-3 blocks away.

Decent/good food at good value pricing with superb concrete mixers ( frozen custard)

For those of you in the Midwest, or want to be in the Midwest, and know your little train people need their cheese curds and frozen custard

To bad it's out of my Era. On the other hand, the newest Culver's opens at 10:00a on Monday and I have a PT appointment at 9:45, 30 miles away 😥

All my drill instructors were in the Gulf war though, one of them having three confirned kills. So one day were were in the squad bay (barracks) and the one whom i just mentioned calls out to me:
-Krasuski, what you gonna do with the money when you get outta here!?
-Sir, this recruit wants to buy a car, sir!
-No no no no, you will send the money to Poland to start a potato farm. What you're gonna do with the money?
-Sir this recruit will send the money to Poland to start a potato farm!
