I've had squares. I have had traditional triangular slices. For normal round pizza I prefer the regular triangular slice. For pizzas cooked in a square or rectangular pan or otherwise not the traditional round, square cut pizza is fine.

FWIW -- the pizza they served us for school lunch was square cut. because they made the pizzas on big rectangular pans. (Back then they had a real kitchen and made real food a lot of the time).

I had never heard of pizza being called a pie until I visited NYC while I was still in high school,1966 to 70! That is my 1st memory of triangle pizza slices. Heck just buying a slice was unheard of in my neighborhood. The 1st rectangle pizza was at Point of Woods golf club in Michigan while also in college. Pizzas in Chicago until deep dish became popular were round shaped and sliced into mainly 2” square pieces. Of course being round you were a wimp ordering anything under 14” the crusts pieces of course weren’t square. Thanks for the memories.

Awake at 2am for a pee run, and the sciatica decided to act up.

Three ibuprofen later and I'm still awake. Did the stretches, and have the heating pad going.

Still aches.

Time for stupid vids on youtube. I'd have a drink if it weren't dangerous on the stomach with all the Nsaids I'm taking.

Well, I have decided that I will not make it to the club room today.
Short version, I fell at church Wednesday night, got up, and drove home.
Found I had scraped my left shin and the right knee was starting to hurt.
Started to bed later. walking carefully and twisted back to shut the door and the right knee collapsed.
Not having a skyhook, I rolled around on the floor for 5 minutes until I could slide myself over to the bed and get my left leg under me.
As long as i lock my knee. I can get around using my wife's walker, but I don't feel I can walk the distance required to get to the club room.
I have been riding my recliner for the last two days and the knee feels better, but I dare not twist the knee.

if not much better on Monday, my wife will beat me into submission to go see the doctor.

Oh no Mikey! For Pete’s sake be careful! We don’t need to hear this right after your birthday!

Good morning crew from my section of Wisconsin. It is 60f degrees heading to 80 later but with humidity. It’s calm now but the afternoon wind speeds are all in the teens so that might overcome the humidity.

My tender hip is still tender but not bad enough the wife forced me to the clinic. Yesterday’s work session for me though I have been thankfully using a rolling stool and that took pressure off the hip. My construction portion of the loops entering the train room is complete. I will become the main scenery helper until the trees are needed. The cardboard lattice webbing is complete awaiting the plaster cloth next. This is the tough part of helping on someone else’s layout. Differences in techniques. Both the owner and the main scenery guru wanted the slow to cut and form cardboard webbing. I would have used resin sheet from HD and had it installed and shaped the 1st work session. 2nd session definitely painted and possibly started the ground goop. Yesterday the 3rd session would have been final ground goop and rock croppings and the next the forest undergrowth and trees. But, it’s not my layout. Unless the scenery guru stops in to work between the every other Friday session I don’t see it being complete by 10/14 when a Crew from Tulsa comes by to operate. My portion though on the layout is done as promised but 1 session behind because of last minute changes by the owner and guru! The trees to install will be complete on the 10/7 deadline I was given. The guru will have a week to install them. Watching the scramble to completion will be interesting. The guru is a great guy and has been frequently published in the magazines and is skilled. The term “guru” or “mudder” I use is not being derogatory as that’s what the guys call him.

No known plans today though I expect we will find a Farmers Market or 2. There is a strip of trees between us and the daughter’s family place up the hill. I have a patio under the tall oak trees with (don’t ask me why) a pergola structure. The tree strip is roughly 300’ wide and 700’ long. Terry misses her garden and flowers. More proof we most likely will stay here is she wants to add a vegetable plot and flower beds outside the tree strip. I’m actually fully in agreement. She wants to layout the sections and call in a landscaper to bid it because my days of turning over dirt are done. As long as there is some Russian sage, a lilac brush or 5 and an area for me to tend the roses I’m ok with whatever is done as long as she gets what she wants.

Long live the speedy forum

Good morning. I better post this while I still can.

70°/70°F this morning. They keep promising a falling dewpoint, but I've yet to see any indication of this happening. Checking dewpoints farther north, they are indeed lower, but the same as yesterday. Here too. No change.

No critters in the yard in the past two days for Willow to get ahold of, and nothing going on here today. Put three huge chicken breasts on the grill yesterday afternoon that turned out well. I took one to the woman across the street with a biscuit and some cole slaw. She fell down her basement steps and broke her leg and ankle, and tore the tendon away from the bone. She's going to have to have surgery. She's the woman who used to own Willow.

I may run trains after lunch or I may spend time in the backyard while it's nice outside. Still have the windows open saving some money.

Have a great weekend.

Servus!

Good morning all!

Slept in a little later than usual this morning. Was up a little later than usual with the several rounds of heavy thunderstorms that were in
the area from 6:30-11:30pm. City sirens went off twice but nothing damaging hit our area.

Should be a fairly nice day again today. Currently its 64F and the high is going to be around 81F. Should be mostly sunny all day.

Have the usual Saturday stuff to do around the house today. Grocery run, gas up the cars, some laundry, and a little yard clean up.

Not much else going on at the moment, the rest of the house is still i bed.

Have a safe day everyone!
