Hughie: Sure is, and my kids were there also. Still going strong...on the Bay Shore. I did my Basic at Ft. Dix. My first reason to dislike Jersey. Point Beach and Amusements are nice, Sea Side is OK also. Asbury Park is supposedly on its way back.
I cannot swear to it, but I think my folks took us kids to Asbury Park. I was able to take my wife to Palisades Park in Fort Lee, before they tore it down. It was her first trip out of Texas.

Or Texas could raise the minimum wage, anything is possible. ;)
I'm not sure that that is relevant, as most companies pay far above the federal minimum here. There are 20 other states that use the federal minimum wage as well. Politicians are the blame for not changing the federal minimum. I just checked at random, the starting salary at Burger King in the nearest city of Denton, and it is $16.00/hour. Even my old cheapskate manufacturing company, started paying $15.75 before I left 8 years ago. I'm sure that it is higher now. Cost of living is really low in Texas and there is no state income tax. Just because it hasn't been officially raised doesn't mean that any company is still paying it. Exception may be illegal migrant farm workers.

Good evening. It's 84 and clear, with a heat advisory for tomorrow.
I did get the replacement items today that were stolen yesterday, and Amzon suggested using one of their lockers in the future to prevent another attack of porch pirates.

I was joking.

"Don't mess with Texas!" :)

No neighborhood is immune from porch pirates.

I've seen multi-million-dollar homes with secure boxes for packages. The customers provide us with a code in their delivery instructions to open the boxes. Or we have instructions to hide the packages. No matter where I deliver, I try to put the packages out of sight from the street. And I send the customer a text message as to where I put their package.

Amazon charges the driver with an infraction for missing packages. Too many missing packages can result in termination.

One thing I wish the delivery folk would do, is ring the doorbell. They just leave the packages, on the porch and go. I would bring them in if I knew they were there. Luckily not even porch pirates want to be in my neighborhood, so I haven't lost anything.

Not a good day yesterday. A friend asked me to sub in a golf league and on the way a guy pulled out in front of me and I hit him. 4 or 5 thousand dollars in damage to my truck. Lots of accidents at this intersection people can't see you coming with the bridge abutment in their line of sight. Time for a stop light there.
I took down the old kitchen cabinets and now my back is aching. The new kitchen design has me moving the refrigerator to a new location where some base board heat is in the way. My friend tells me we'll remove the heat there and use Kick space heat under the new cabinets on the other side of the room. This is the first time I heard of kick space heat. Anyone here use it? I guess it can be either hooked into your existing hot water heat or electric.

well, howdy there internet peeps.

Please be careful driving. We want to keep everyone safe.

Got some words worded this morning. Not near enough, but close.

Wife has a zucchini about ready to pick. And, about four bell peppers that will need picked tomorrow or Friday. And we leave for Canada on Friday. figures.

How long will bell peppers keep i the vegetable drawer of the fridge? A week? Or do I need to slice and dice right away? That may be the better plan, then freeze the slices.

today is one of those change your pants a few times day. Starting at 60 F degrees, high of 80, then back into the low sixties, maybe high 50s tonight. I've got blue jeans on now, will go for shorts after lunch.

Rain possible today and tomorrow. Back later.

Good morning gang!

68° and sunny, heading to a high of 85° later.

Power was finally restored around 4:30 yesterday, internet came back sometime overnight. All the large branches are cut up and loaded on the trailer for an early Saturday morning dump run. They will meet the counties humongous shredder machine, the things a big as a small house! From there it will start a new life as mulch.

Maybe tonight I can get to the basement!

Good morning it’s 61f degrees in So. Central WIsconsin with the dew point at 59 degrees which explains the dripping windows. Heading to 83 later with the AQ# of 57.

Another tough night of little sleep! The Sump pump ran like every 15 minutes and there’s barely a 1/4” of water in the pit. It would run for 4-6 minutes (yes I timed it) stop and come back on 12-16 minutes later. Finally, I was able to block it out around 2:30 and slept. That was also when I unplugged it! Yes, I was slow to get that far. I called the contractor at 7AM

The son is out riding with his mom, sister and at least 1 of the grandkids. It’s nice to have him around. He fixed my Nest thermostat issue and the green leaf is gone for now. Then he dialed in my house wifi network and played with the sound on my home media system that I haven’t watched in forever. NHL hockey and the NFL will be back soon, so my audio is tuned up and ready. He laughed at my golf simulator. He asked if his uncle knew I had this and is this why I have been doing well in those golf tournaments of his. I told him of course, he’s the one who gifted it to me. I’m too cheap to spend on something like that when I already had my golf net to hit into. Today we will work on getting WIFi into my shop and part of the train room. A large part of the train room is under the garage and I am relying on the signal from the upstairs repeaters. His suggestion for downstairs where the media center is also that we look into a separate system. He’s going to look at that today. He also has been roped into hanging artwork along with his brother in law. Seems I have been temporarily removed from the Crew. His suggestion when seeing the finished layout space was to go 2 decks. He has a few friends in Austin that their dads are model railroaders. He has seen one of the layouts and it was impressive with many levels along the walls of a outbuilding he built for the trains. That though is still a NOPE not happening.

The co-pilot also stayed the night and she is a looker. The son said she is on year 4 of a never ending engagement. They fly together occasionally and they are friends, that’s it. She saw the pool and asked if she could swim this morning. She’s swimming laps now. Terry said I was not needed to play life guard. Darn! She hit it off with the daughter last night and this afternoon they are going to hit some shops downtown.

Neither the fires on Maui or the fires in the Austin area are near the brother or the son

enjoy the day

Around here they almost ever even knock or ring? I can be sitting here and the package is delivered and I don't know ot until I get the email or phone notification. UPS and Fedex have the same problem.

Just knock or ring folks!
