Actually, there is a vet who does "volunteer work" at the local Tractor Supply on Saturday Mornings - I might ask her is she does or knows of anyone who does.

Beause they are feral, catching and containing them for the nearly 30 mile return trip might prove interesting.

I think we will be okay with ONE of them as I think he was a domestic that just got lost and wandered up onto our porch for food, then just stayed for desert, coffee and so on :)

One of the other ferals doesn't mind us patting him but doesn't like being grabbed at all. That applies to the two adult females as well. The initial 3 kittens (the black ones) are still a bit timid and wont even come to us yet so we'd never get them. Rusty - the new mother, well she trusts us and might let us pick her up but that wont happen till her kittens are independent so that will be a few months I think.
 
I miss this place. Lots of great memories.

True, but you have to look at it that it's to their benefit as well as yours, or you could just stop feeding them so they find another source of food, and then they become someone else's problem. But I know you won't do that so..........?

The reason that such rules exist is to prevent hostility and unwelcome comments. It is to aid in the maintenance of civility and social conduct.

If people want to discuss Politics, Religion or Sex - then use the Private Conversation thing, that is what it is there for, or one reason it is there.

Yes ok I should have mentioned talk about anything BUT not break forum rules. Although I did allude to the …mods can slap you (for breaking the rules)
we do press the political electric fence and get our fingers burned,

but I personally would NEVER be offensive (on purpose) to another member, and respect religious beliefs enough to never press THAT self destruct button! I have a respect for the one I was raised in and like a number of others that have decent ethics,and picking at aspects is in my opinion a ball of string only idiots touch, even talking in person let alone on line can upset people by accident. Religion and aspects of religion and a belief in God/s should be left strictly alone in my opinion. my other half and I are from different angles on the same religion and our marriage has stayed healthy as we respect each other by NOT trying to discuss this can of worms.

As for sex, or sexual preferences online be serious, mmmmmmf no nope, not my business to know yours and I certainly do not share mine.

now politics……grins…….but I agree it can cause major feuds, and appreciate the mods allow a little kettle boiling but stop the lid blowing off, luckily I am not hidebound and appreciate a discourse without wanting to strangle someone else,and a different view can occasionally open my eyes to a political point that I was oblivious to, but knocking our governments when some support one team or another with fervour, I personally find almost all politicians without exception in my experience have flaws. Hell we are human.

Plus, if I ever do overstep the mark, and a moderator tells me to shut the fk up, I will….end of…

First, let me make one thing crystal clear - my post was NOT directed at any individual in particular here so I hope you don't, or didn't, think it was directed at you, because it wasn't.

Some people can have civil and mature conversations about anything - others can't, and that is why certain topics are considered taboo for open discussion, it is as simple as that. No one is preventing anyone from discussing ANYTHING in a private conversation, no one.

But lets take a step back for a moment - this place (as a whole) is a Model Train Forum and it is that which should take precedence over other things. There are, no doubt, plenty of forums dedicated to those other topics that people can join if they wish to speak about them in a forum.

Nothing more to be said I don't think.
 




Good morning and happy Friday gang!

Tony, Feral outdoor cats are useful. especially for keeping the neighborhood rodents in check. So you don't get overrun each year see if there is a group nearby that will do TNR (Trap, Neuter, Release) at no or little cost. My Ex's parents had a herd of cats in their neighborhood til that was what they did. Slowly the population dropped over the last 10 years and now they have 2 outdoor cats. Population controlled, everyone gets to live out their lives.

Half day at work today, then off to HD to get 30 bags of mulch.
