Good Morning all,

Been nursing a cold, or touch of the flu the last couple of days. I believe my fever finally broke this morning, so I'm not feeling too bad as of now. Haven't done anything train related since Tuesday.

Looks like some nice dry warmer weather is in store for us over the next several days.

Other than that I've got nothing more!

Have a great Friday all!

Went to the train club to get some blasting done on a couple of modules. Yesterday's work passed the vacuum test.

Good Morning All!
41F @ 67%

Thank-you for all your well wishes and concerns!

Maria is doing fine. I kept a close watch on her yesterday as a cautionary measure. Checked every hour or so and she just kept purring along. It is funny - If I am not in bed with her and touch her while she is sleeping, she jumps awake with a big gasp, wide eyes and groans. Good thing she stopped sleeping with a weapon under her pillow! If I am in bed, I can do just about anything with her, she just keeps on purring. Go figure.

Most of today is check oil and fuel for all our toys; your basic pre-trip then get them running. Supposed to be above freezing for the next few weeks, which gets us to Spring/Summer temp swings. Batteries are charging as I write this. Sharpen chain saws, mower blade(s) and stuff like that. Dump run also. First tractor thing is to make the gates passable. When we put them in it was one of those 'get stuff done before we go back on the road' things, so the passage through the gate(s) are not flat. Should not be to rough to take care of. Want water and electrical under the gates so -- form and concrete time over gravel and buried PVC. The electrical is more or less for hot wire JIC we need it in places and water for sprinkler system that has not been built ... yet. That should keep me busy for a couple of days. Area cleanup is progressing and pretty soon we should be down to burning. Got 3 more weeks to burn what we can. If not everything gets torched, there is always next year as we have all summer to make piles. Need about 10 yards of gravel for the driveway and a few spots.

Life is fun!

I can't keep up with you all!

Willie, I hope Arlene is feeling better.

When you get a chance ask Arlene what she thinks of the Cowboys cutting Zeke.
I never liked that guy. I loved the Cowboys explanation as to why they cut him. "Too much respect..." ;)
I think 3.8 yards per carry is not worth his salary.

Good afternoon. I placed the orders for containers and chassis with an online store and they should be here Tuesday. I got a very nice discount. They will be dropped shipped from the distributor to me.

The order for trailers and tractors the weathering client will now handle but it looks like 3000toys.com maybe be his best chance at the quantities he wants. He says his intermodal yard will have a UPS facility on the backdrop and he may order those UPS trucks and trailers direct from Walthers.

I dropped a Bowser spline car this morning. Not a pretty sight and I told the client about it. His comment was just 1? Then was it the A, B or C unit of the 3? I had no clue but checked and it’s the C unit. He will have one of his kids drop the replacement off after dinner today. I was spraying clear coat on the cars and bump went the elbow into the cars. Thankfully only the one!

So how bad was it? I have a couple sets, and they are so fragile under normal careful handling, but a fall from a table probably was catastrophic!

I never reported on my trip to Walmart for tires.

It could have been better.
I got notified by text, they only had two tires. Like I got nothing better to do than make a second trip.

Service was good. I was in and out in under 40 minutes.

No surprises at check out.
Two Goodyear tires at $73.xx each. I paid for them online in advance.
Two recycling fees at $1.80 each.
Two mounting fees at $14.00 each.
Two tire disposal fees at $2.00 each.

Keep in mind many Walmart locations have unique pricing. My local, lower/middle class Dundalk store is usually cheaper than others in higher class areas. You should see the ladies at the counter in the tire shop. Real "management material", not!
Some people refuse to accept they are no longer in their twenties.

Costco charges $20 for mounting, road hazard and wheel balance. Plus, the $2.00 MD disposal fee. The best deal that they had was BF Goodrich at $125 each.
I saved about $100, but my time is worth more than that. The problem is Costco's tire shop is slower than molasses coming out of a jug in January. Always 2 hours plus!

I will reschedule when I need to make a pickup at walmart. Walmart's curb side pickup has been first rate, so far.

In baseball news, the Orioles are 3-3. Nationals, not so good.
As Earl Weaver used to say, "you can't win the pennant in April, but you can lose it."

NFL - Lamar is not getting $50 million guaranteed. I've heard everything from collusion to racism. Nope, he got hurt at the end of each of the last two seasons. I don't care how good you are. If you can't play you are worthless.
You think Arron Rodgers would come to Baltimore? ;) Forget about it. Rodgers wants that big New York market. It won't do him any good if he doesn't win the Super Bowl. If he wins, he will be super rich! If not, he will be a bum!

Have a wonderful day Everybody!

Afternoon All,

Started out at 69F and going past the forecast of 90F. It is pretty darn hot out there. Started out with some chores then MOH made it home in a not so good mood then off to Wally World for things for the family get-together. I most likely will not be in tomorrow.

David- How long was your world tour? Our longest cruise has been 10 days. In most cases I prefer the at sea days to the port visits since we've pretty much have seen what the Carribean has to offer. Love the layout scene.

Terry- Sorry to hear that.

Karl- Nice steamers.

Willie- Nice scenes.

Guy- Nice 1:1 scene. Not the snow.

I hope everyone has a good night.

Before I met Dawn I did four cruises.
It took me 25 years to get her on a ship. For our 25th we visited New York on QE2.
Since then I have not had to book a cruise. Dawn has booked everyone. Even four without me, but with friends.
Dawn wanted to go to Dubai. Sailing home on QM2 afterwards seemed ideal. We were offered such a good package. Five days in Dubai, 21 days on QM2 ( the last part of her World Voyage.
I love being on ships. Dawn has 'has had enough' after two weeks and wants to come home.
It hasn't stopped her being on ships. We have been on 69 cruises since 2002. With more to come (hopefully).

BOB - I'm going to burn your posting! Lordy Mercy that's a bunch of cruising for sure!
The Spousal Unit loves being shipboard, me - not so much. After three-four days I am ready to be back home. I love the ships and the food, but just cruise the open sea to me is boring.
My passport expired a few years back and I am too lazy to renew it.
I was so tired of carrying around a suitcase that when I arrived off of my last trip ... I chunked the suitcase in a trash barrel at the foot of the stairs, climbed into my P/U and drove home. After 40+ years of travel - I really don't care to leave the house!

LOUIS .. WM curbside P/U here is the greatest since sliced bread came along. I use it at least once a week!

DAVID - Please excuse an old (codger) TomO's description, I believe!
KARL's correct: Shirlee kant speil!

Here's a snapshot of the Women's Club group on the 1/2 Canal two week cruise the Spousal Unit just returned from.
She's the one almost center with the glasses on.
