Afternoon All,

Started out at 71F heading towards 92F later. The house cleaning continues with the dining room today. Everything was pulled out and put back after cleaning. I haven't done much other than that. I've been dealing with low energy or lack of motivation in the train room lately.:(

Todd- Hopefully you will get your VA rating.

David- Nice shots. I did an excursion years ago on a cruise that was a partial canal transit. I found it fascinating and marked it off of my bucket list.

Guy- Nice rainbow trout. Of course, it looks like it is flash frozen in the air!😲

TomO- Sorry to hear about your house damage but glad you and Terry are OK.

Sherrel- Pace yourself buddy.

I hope everyone has a good night.

Thank you for your comments PRR Modeler.

At the time I had the chance of doing a partial canal transit or travel on the Panama Canal Railway. As Dawn and I love cruising, transitting the canal would be available more often to us. Travelling the railway was a once in a lifetime.

I hate it when it snows when the park is open. You have to shovel EVERYTHING! It takes everyone we have all day to do it. Thankfully we are a smaller park.
0844 at the time of this post and it’s already 61 with a high of 78… in April! Nice.

The park opened last weekend. First time ever that we opened that early. This year is our 60th Anniversary. For the most part all went well.

If you would like to see my work environment, here is an excellent video I found on YouTube from Sunday. It’s really well done and shows you some of the toys I get to play with. I’ve been working here for 20 years now. Never gets old. Still love it.

Good Afternoon All. Update of sorts. As I alluded to this morning, my wife thought that she had an emergency medical condition. Self-diagnosed with the help of some online medical websites; she thought that she had a major Gall Bladder problem. Two options, head for the Emergency Room or see if our doctor could see her today. Had an appointment three hours later. He and the nurse practitioner poked around and asked questions and agreed that it was probably just an injured back. She got a shot for pain. So they drew blood for testing and sent us to the imaging lab around the corner for X-rays and scheduled a return for 2:00 at his office for a sonogram. Sure enough, the lab was closed for a staff meeting so we went to Chick-Fil-A next door to feed Willie. Lab reopened at 1:15 and she was fourth in line behind others who waited patiently at the door. Got the X-rays done and went back to the doctor's office for the sonogram.
Obviously nothing yet as we were sent home while they wait for results to come in. I believe that it is a back injury done about 10 days ago when she tried some new exercise. That's actually when the pain started. So not quite an emergency, glad that we were able to go to the doctor's office instead. We already have a joint office visit for next Tuesday scheduled three months ago.

Thanks Curt we are fine. It hasn‘t seemed to affect Terry but I was awake through most of it. But we are safe and the damage will be mostly covered by insurance. Plus no one in the neighbor got hurt

Quaking Aspens are back on the bench.

The bark separated after drying (curing). So I have to find a fix.

Tamiya xf21 seems like a close match for the bark. But it wouldn’t penetrate the candle wax. So On this now experimental tree I will mix some arcylic paints Liquitex. It is more like a paste then the Tamiya very runny paint

Good evening. 50° and foggy, as it has been all day. temperature range for the day, 52° to 50°.
The category for the tornado that passed within a half mile of our estate, is EF-2. There is debate as to whether the tornado, a half mile to the South, was the same one or another. Lots of damage from #2, which just missed a senior housing complex by a few yards. Some neighborhoods don't have power back yet, and others are back with temporary fixes. The HVAC team was back today, and reattached the cap on to the chimney. 20" work including setting up the ladders, to correct the problem. $250.00 total cost.
Cardiac Rehab, then some minor repairs in the house. We have Easter shopping tomorrow, as well as cleaning the downstairs. DIL and Grand Children are coming for Easter.
Tom O: Wisconsin weather sucks worse than ours. Sorry to learn of the problems the hail caused you. Like the trees so far.
Willie: Sorry to hear of your wife's back injury/pain. Hope the discomfort doesn't last.

Sory to hear that, Willie. About 5 years ago I ducted under my layout and emerged with terrible pain in my back that lasted for months. My cat scan showed 3 arthritis back disks that were very close to touching my spinal cord. My back doctor said, there's nothing I can do except give you a shot in the area. The pain lasted a month then when away. I hope your wife is feeling better.

Good morning from a calm and beautiful looking day in the So. Central part of Wisconsin. It is 28f degrees now feels like 16 but heading into the mid 50’s.

Thank you to all who expressed concerns and offered well wishes here in the forum or direct text messages regarding our storm damage. Terry and I appreciate it. Again we are both fine, I was more shaken then her but OK again. The insurance people and the glass company guys that came out were great.

I just placed another order with SpringCreeks Models in Nebraska. I ordered more of the yellow TBOX box cars. I put 3 cars on Facebook around 8PM on 2 of the 8 sale sites I normally list at. A Canadian Pacific, a BNSF and a yellow TBOX car, all weathered. Before I could get the cars listed on the third site (I just copy/paste for the ad and then the pictures) I had 6 requests for the yellow TBOX. I replied to them in order that the car listed sold with pending payment, but I had other numbers. I had another 5 already weathered and showed them the numbers and they sold. Guy #6 understood I had no more weathered. But I told him I had a few more unweathered and if he could wait a few weeks I would sell at the listed current price. I gave him the 5 numbers available and he took them. He then asked if I had other numbers on the BNSF and he took that too. (he said he has the number I listed) That was fun last night as I got payment I packed each of the cars up and I will head to the post office by 10.

The 78 intermodal car weathering project has gone well with 1 exception. I didn’t note which wheels go into each truck on the articulated units of 3 for the 9 Kato sets. Looks like the wheels are 28” and 33”. Got it figured out though. The rest of the cars are either individual Walthers well cars, 6 Athearn sets of 5 or Bowser spline cars. He spent a lot of time changing out the car numbers as there are no duplicate numbers in the 78. When I texted him yesterday about the progress he mentioned adding containers and trailers to the train. I mentioned I have never done a container and don’t know what the pricing would be. So this morning after the post office I will head to the LHS with a list of possible containers to buy to work on.

Does anyone know why BNSF buffer cars have patches of white paint on the roof?

Enjoy the day
