Good Afternoon All!

57F @35% and partly

Today was/is the NY Circus along with an appointment with my VSO Bryan. I wrote and submitted a personal statement about the hazardous noise I was exposed to. Heck, did not even have to edit the thing. Bryan said that what I wrote was 10 times better than 80% of the people he needs them from. I hemmed and hawed for a couple of days trying to get stuff in my mind straight about it. I have written statements in the past against employees in whatever company and it was hard to do the switcharoo to writing about me. The VA admitted that I do have hearing loss, so the statement was to prove it to them associating hazards with my duty stations. So now I am waiting for my 2nd hearing exam which will rate the hearing loss, then the Tinnitus on top of that. Looks like my Tinnitus is worse than most of the others he has done this for. I have insomnia and another thing I don't remember the name right now. I sleep for 4 or 5 hours before the ringing wakes me up. Have trouble catching my breath, with a tightness in the upperchest, neck and shoulders some of the time. A few years back I thought the breathing and tightness was either cardiac or respiratory; well until my 3 pass of which my ticker was made good for another 25 years, and the respiratory stuff checked out ok too. Still have the tightness and breathing problems, so Tinnitus.

Hearing aids work pretty good in a quiet or not very loud room and allow me to hear and mask the ringing somewhat. Loud environment and all of that gets thrown out the window. Was told at my hearing test a couple of weeks ago that Tinnitus probably was the cause of that as the ringing masks the different voices / noises in the room; hence I would miss stuff. We will see what happens.

My wife made our version of homemade burritos. I bought picante sauce by mistake.
It worked great! Better to be lucky than good.
From now on we will buy both. I prefer salsa for dipping. Picante sauce is perfect for burritos.
If I have too much picante sauce left over, I can add jalapenos, green peppers, and onions for dipping.

Thank you for all the answers!

My wife uses this to season the ground beef.

And these are for the wraps.

I stuffed it so full of beef, shredded cheddar cheese, lettuce, and picante sauce I could only eat one!

Well, howdy there internet people, and those who haven't broken NYS Penal (PEN) CHAPTER 40, PART 3, TITLE K, Article 175.

It's Troy again.

I forgot to take an overnight Alieve and woke up at 2a for the pee run. Then the disk in the back started with a dull ache. Add in that the house is currently 71°f, with 50+% humidity (in Indiana!) and we still have winter levels of blankets on the bed. And the cat wanted to snuggle and share his little fuzzy furnace of heat.

so I got up and took two Alieve, made a cuppa (green & ginger tea). I might try a nap in the recliner to get another hour or so of sleep.

As for that citizen from NYC... Let me put on my journalism hat: Avoid the News shows on the Telly. They're NOT news. They're the talking points from the ends of the spectrum.

My go-to in a time like this is law professors. Two I like are Joyce Vance, and Jill Wine-Banks. Vance is a law professor, and Wine-Banks is notable for being the only female federal prosecutor on the team investigating the Watergate scandal.

In other news, if you have a Kobo reader (for those in the US, it's like what the Longest River Store does, but in the Commonwealth countries & much of Europe)... Kobo has a program called Kobo-Plus. It's a subscription reading service. Pay a monthly fee, check out and read e-books. the authors get paid based on how much time you spend reading the book.

Well... they just expanded that program into the US AND THE UK. And, here in the States, you can pick up a Kobo reader at WalMart. Or get the app for your various tablets. $7.99US for a month's worth of reading is a great deal.

Seeing that announcement yesterday, I bit the bullet a week earlier than I had planned to and asked The Longest River Store to release all of my books from their rental program.

One big difference between the two is the US-based The Longest River Store requires my ebooks (not paperbacks) be exclusive to them. Not in libraries, not in other online e-reader programs. Kobo doesn't require exclusivity. They're a smaller fish in the e-reader ocean, but they're trying to grow. I like companies with Let's grow together attitudes.

Four of my 16 books will be dropping out of the exclusivity program this month, and another eight next month. But not in chronological order. It's all hodge-podge, or in military terms, a Cluster-fornication of an order. Books 5-6 in one series, followed by book 2 in the other series, then book 1 in the first series. Someone just starting either series in May wouldn't be able to read them in any semblance of order.

So, now I wait. I'm asking for the author-service reps at The River to end the agreement out of schedule. They can say NO, and make me wait on the actual end dates for each book. And putting them up on other stores, not in order would be just as silly as leaving them in the exclusive program like that.

I'll be watching my email all day... waiting...

Sleep apnea?
Willie: Probably not, Wife says I do not stop breathing; even for one breath. Yes, I do snore but according to her not as much as before my 3 pass; if that makes any sense. The word I was looking for was anxiety ( stress ) which looks to cause the shortness of breath and tightness. I usually have zero problem falling asleep and do so for 2 or 3 hours before almost waking to change position; or waking to Pee if needed, then right back to sleep. Another 2-3 hours of sleep and wake again. I will give it 10 or 15 minutes and if I don't fall back to sleep, I just get up. There are times when I get busy brain and can't fall asleep as normal; probably not related to any of the above. If that happens, I just get up and go do something for awhile. Usually after an hour or two, back to bed and I start the 2-3 hour routine thingies.

Good morning gang, and everyone else who doesn’t give a 💩 what the blonde bumbler does.
It’s gonna be another nice day today weather wise, gonna try my best not to get fired or written up today. The Ex is bringing her Impala in to the shop today for some repairs. I don’t want to see her, talk to her, or listen to her yap incessantly. She drives past 2 other dealerships and what must be a million other shops to get here. My co workers have said they will do the write up and exit with her, but they can’t sit on her. I’d like to sit a car on her.

Quick question, when you wake up during the night do you find that you always need to pee, I ask because I had the same problem for 5 or 6 years, till I was diagnosed with diabetes.

WOW! The fact she drives past two other dealerships says either your dealership has a great reputation, or it's an excuse to try and annoy you.

Don't bite, go on a coffee break or find somewhere else to be, she's not worth getting a write up for.

Smudge: Give it 50/50 on that which depends on what liquids I have and how long before bed. Sometimes I do not wake at all ( as far as I know ) and sleep the 5-6 hours.

I take it you are Type II? I suspect that diabetes is not the cause of the pee problem, get your PSA checked. Prostate issues can cause that exact issue. My Doc found the issue just before the China Virus. That all started about 10 years prior getting worse and worse. Found that my PSA was 12 something; start of issues is a rising level above 2. Did radiation therapy ( 5 weeks straight, 5 days a week,15 minute sessions ) which took that number to 0. Still is 0 after 3ish years.

Karl, I have a crazy ex that sounds like yours. I would be feeling the same as you if I were in your shoes today.
Deep breaths and stay calm if possible. Think of the wonderful wife you have now.
I hope the day goes well for you,
Could it be she trusts your integrity, knowledge, and skill? I hope so.

Good morning everyone,

Hopefully last round of storms are coming through now! We had a decent storm roll through last night. Lost power for several hours and a little tree damage, but no structure damage that I can see. I love spring storms, but this is a little too much for me. The poor puppy has been beside herself all night and very restless. Very little sleep for last night!

Have a great day all!
