Well howdy, there beer drinkers, non-beer drinkers, and those who don't mind the odd rainbow...

To get the beer discussion back on track (pun intended) here are some photos of beer that matter: (swiped from https://bradystrains.com/collections/budweiser)

As for my favorite beer?

Larceny Wheat Forward Bourbon, or Beullit Rye. Just never enjoyed the taste of wheat sodas. Not IPAs, not dark ales.

Diet Dr. Pepper, that's a good replacement if you really need to give me a can of something with bubbles.

Well that's messed up my plans.

I've built a Faller HO Arched Bridge, and I need the two end support bridges which I finally found in a store down south and ordered on the 16th. but have heard nothing about when it would be dispatched.

Sent an email 3 days ago enquiring as to where the items were and had they been sent and perhaps had forgotten to email me.

Had a response saying that they didn't have two, only one and were chasing Faller to get more stock. Me, being my usual self, and having little sleep for two days, responded by asking why, when they discovered the error, they had not contacted me and kept me informed, I wasn't rude, just very annoyed as they had left me hanging, wondering where the items were, and asking when they were likely to have stock. So far I've received no response.

On checking Faller's website to see if perhaps I could get them directly, there is a notice stating they do not ship to the UK. only to EU countries, they do ship to the UK, but the whole inport thing is a pain, and expensive if your a small company, which the vendor is.

So next stage is getting hold of an old Army buddy, who lives on Germany and seeing if he can get them for me and send them over.

Don't you just love the tribulations of life.

Just curious, is this a result of Brexit???

The not shipping to the UK. I think so, yes, shipping outside the EU now involves going backwards 30 odd years. Before it became the EU it was the Common Market, custom declaration forms and related taxes had to be paid to ship goods across European borders, when the EU came into being in 1993 all the borders disappeared and you could move goods and people across Europe without any restrictions or Tariffs.

Now companies have to do all the paperwork and pay tariffs that was abolished 30 yes ago, if it's a marginal return most companies won't bother, Faller probably won't ship to the UK, simply because their products are HO which is not popular here, so their return from the UK is minimal and not worth the cost of doing the paperwork.

If I understand the situation in the UK/Europe, Yes. As part of the EU, shipping amongst it's countries was "standard" and fairly cheap because of tariff reduction/elimination. Now, the tarriffs are back, and poorly negotiated
We actually had a pretty good deal with the EU initially under Teresa May, but as usual politicians were too busy backstabbing and point scoring to actually care. So when we finally got it sorted under Boris Johnson it was a worse deal than the original one.

I am not a drinker and have always been a light weight when I do. The only beer I sort of like, maybe once a month at a Friday Fish Fry is a Wisconsin only beer, Spotted Cow.

But give me a diet Dr Pepper anytime.

Good morning to all. I watched the NFL draft last night on the IPadPro (yep it’s still survives) but couldn’t handle the talking heads on ABC, ESPN or the NFL Network. So, I watched it on YouTube while building trees.

Worked on 9 trees. Trying to turn the examples above into something similar to these. Whispering or trembling Aspen trees.

But with fuller canopies. All the trees I am showing above are in the 5-7” range. I have 9 others at approximately 9” height but I just can’t get the canopies on those to the way I think they should be. So I went with the shorter ones. I will leaf them out when I get back from the yearly eye appointment. Overall I have trunks coated for 25 W/T Aspen trees.

I know the glasses after 4 years will be changed. I have noticed little changes. Until my cataract surgery in 2015 my glasses were changed every year for as long as I can recall. Going from wearing glasses when awake to only needing them for close in work or reading really was a changer for me.

I have some more containers from a modeler that showed up yesterday. We leave Sunday for Vegas, I briefly thought I can do them by Sunday and then said to myself, WHY?

The guy giving me fits over his intermodal trains did show up before dinner yesterday. He picked up the completed work and sort of apologized for being a jerk. I am not sure without his wife at his side he would have, but he did. So we r sort of good. He asked when he could get the rest, told him sipome time in June as May is a travel month for Terry and I.

enjoy the day

Good Morning All!

38F @ 62% and clear. Supposed to get to 77F around 1700.

No wind in the forecast today so burning is in order. Neighbor that is trying to get that bark and piece pile down also took the day off yesterday. Everybody is looking for this to end. 2 more days then we are done! Should get the few trunks still down cut up with most in the burn pile. Tomorrow will be the last no matter what; even if all the planets are aligned! Dropped a 40" x 10" chunk on my foot - no steel toe boots on which probably would not have helped anywho. Needed metatarsal ones that would protect the top of the foot. Got a good size divot now, did not bruise much and was sore for awhile. Dang Cottonwood is still heavy; that chunk I would guess about 80Lbs.

Did get to putter around with train and other stuff yesterday and feel more rested. Track plan is almost ready to post for you all to gander at. Have a few more labels and some st00pid mistakes to take care of first though. I use XtrackCad and it is virtually impossible to show the whole thing where you can see what is happening with a screen snip pasted into Paint. Geesh, thought I, have a D size plotter so I plotted the lower level of which you can actually see the tracks. I can take a pix of that when the latest and greatest plot comes out. Will plot the upper level and do same too.

I could do without the baseball scores I don't really enjoy sports. What ever I just ignore them. Point is we all can find something to complain about. But its a nice day and I am going to enjoy it. Wife goes to rehab soon knee is healing great she is doing good I really like the pts where she goes.

It is one thing to "Vent" about something that happened to you (figuratively speaking) it is another to whine about another persons post.

I am not into sports either so all this stuff about baseball and so forth doesn't interest me in the least so I do what you do - simply ignore it, let the people who do like it enjoy it and move onto the next post.
