Seems rather small of me to quibble over $38 (+ tax), per week, when I could spend $7,850,000.00 on that castle. I don't think I could afford the light bill let alone the propety taxes and a mortgage on that spread.
That monthly property tax of $7658 would pay my property taxes for almost 10 years. Of course my lot is 10 times bigger. But look, the monthly mortgage loan of $55,641.00 includes the monthly HOA fee of $275!

Mikey: Knee pads. Might not help those groaning knees but if you plan on working on your knees -
Todd- I hate to admit I have a pair of knee pads.
My SIL borrowed them about a month ago.
I thought I would not need them for a few minutes on my knees. Then 4 hours later, I realized my time estimate was way off!
Today, I will use folded rugs as pads while I nail down the step carpeting.
Thanks for the suggestion.

Morning all,

If I'm spreading compost on pancakes, you couldn't have eaten them if you tried! 🤣

Currently 40° and clear. Going for the mid-upper 60's before the next front comes through and gives us some drizzle and mist.

Already cleared several issues I knew about on Friday when I checked work email. 200 messages and only 15 had any real relevance, and those were dealt with. Hopefully it will stay quiet.

How it started:

Four bags of trash later... and I'm trying to save as much foam as possible... Saved most of the risers. But...

Here's where I stopped:

Trash bin is full. Generated 3 tall-kitchen sized bags, and one regular garbage bin bag. Our rolling bin is full for tomorrow's pick up.

The worst casualties were two turnouts. And two of the plaster tunnel portals from Woodland Scenic. The portals are repairable. Even soaking the sculptamold holding them in place with 99%IPA only went so far. Oh well.
Sad for the losses, but with all you have learnt and the new space, you should end up with a better layout, I would check the train chugging up and running down asap as people have expressed concerns, then pretty it if your happy, you can pin it as a testing exercise

Good morning math experts and not. Going down on my knees, nope...forget that. Carpeting, I get it now! Terry and I did a wood floor in her old office in the last house. How tough could that be, the flooring was fine, I think my knees still hurt from it though.

Still watching the grand kiddos. The g/d‘s ride is unavailable for school today so I will drive her. The grandson has late start today. 9:30 instead of 7:20. He gets on the bus 3 blocks away. We will head home after he gets on the bus. Terry already has stripped the bed and has the sheets in the washer. It will be great to be in our own bed tonight.

The daughter and hubby get in at 6:30 tonight, the flight is San Francisco to Austin. Austin direct into Middleton, Wi. One of the neighbors is playing chauffeur so I’m not involved. The son says he will be the pilot on the daughter’s flight into Wisconsin. We will leave a car for him at the FBO parking lot. I asked about the co-pilot and cabin person. Said they are a hired crew and have another flight out of Madison on Tuesday and their company handles the lodging. He has a 9AM meeting on Tuesday with the Bank of Mom, his sister and the attorney. He said he will fly back alone Wednesday morning, unless he can pickup some passengers. Then he will need a crew. Something different than pizza for dinner Tuesday night was his only request.

My plan is to work on some trees this morning. Trying to create these Quaking Aspens is frustrating me. I get the trunk right and then the canopy sucks. For the trunk I have switched to 14gauge wire instead of my normal 22.

enjoy the day

Math, especially the uncommon core stuff, is like: You have two apples, your friend has two bananas, how many pancakes will fit on the roof?
More than you expect/mathematically work out, because I will have scoffed the bananas and apples in 2 seconds flat….
i just scoffed a bacon and sausage pizza Keto style, sorry forgot to photograph, but it was well worth making the effort to bake it, plus there is 3 rolls I made at the same time….yum yum, ok WHO mentioned pancakes…..now I want a pancake and I still need to eat a roll and keep to my caolories…..tomorrow maybe with home picked red currents from the freezer and perhaps fresh rhubarb, yum yum I LOVE ❤️ rhubarb, and I found a Keto rhubarb drink…yeah!!!!!!!

Good Morning All. Partly cloudy and 42° and no wind. The sprinkles yesterday ended shortly after my post in the morning, leaving me with just 0.25" in the rain gauge. By early afternoon, it had all either soaked in or evaporated and everything was dry. Rain has been removed from today's forecast but the next two days are expected to bring over an inch, with possible hail. Given the NWS's record here this season, it will either be almost dry or I'll get 4"+ of rain!
Today I have another medical visit at 0945. This time with the pulmonologist. It's almost like I retired just to have more time to see doctors. I also think that doctors schedule more visits once you're on Medicare just because it's easy money for them.

Out in the train shed yesterday, I finished up the structure cleaning for this quarter. A few old favorites here.
Starting with Old MacDonalds Farm and barn.

Knee pads - Been using them for at least 20 years now. So very glad that I discovered them.
Joe - I think that the "Witnesses" have put our house on their "Do Not Call" list, after they used to come by once a year. Answering the door naked might have been the impetus. The Mormons stopped after I told them that I was a Catholic and started spouting off about Jesus.
I assume that you meant City Classics "Smallman Street Warehouse" instead of Smallwood. I think that is a really neat kit that I built a few years back.

I have five or six of their structures. I'm not sure what will happen to them now that the owner died last year.
John - I aced geometry, but absolutely sucked at algebra and trig!
Patrick - Be prepared! Yellow Pear Tomato is a small yellow pear-shaped tomato like a Cherry Tomato.

Everybody have a great day.

"My Friends Beer".........second
"Cabbage" by a head......to win
and "Bubble Gum".........sticking to the rail....third
And "Fruit of the Loom" bringing up the rear.
John I think your right but we will not know because he scratched. I had read a long time ago that the pace of the race is the most important thing to figure when calculating if a horse can win or not. Using too much energy to soon or to late will diminish a horse's chances to win. Figuring out all the 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 numbers can be a challenge for the best of the trig guys.

I never did bet the ponies. Back in the 80s I did have to be in Miami for a friends wedding, so one night I went with the grooms sister and Mom to the dog track at Hialeah. I went with 20 bucks to spend, the won several bets. Several pitchers of beer and lots of food later, the 3 of us staggered to a cab and I had 75 bucks in my pocket. It was a great night, never to happen again.

WELP, I'm around and so far behind. Supposed to be partly cloudy and 77f today. We had a 91f day on Saturday which was really nice!
The Spousal Unit returned from her Dayton drum band competition. The G-Son's group came in 21st in the final readout. Too Bad that they were moved up to a higher/more advanced slot at the last minute. They got screwed because they did not have time to practice for the advanced routine!
I told the G-son that he should not feel bad as being #21 in the nation is pretty damn good!

I'm faced with another pet problem. The going on 18 YO has just about reached the point of being immobile in her hind legs. It's been coming on slowly for several months and last night she could not get up from the tile floor. Today I'm going to see about having her put down - I hope to find someone who will come to the house to make it more comfortable to her. I am aware that they make wheels for dogs however she weighs close to 70 lbs and I have to really struggle to get her up and outside.
I will , more than likely, be mostly absent from here for a while.
