Ahh, if we are thinking the same thing or on the same lines then yep - at the very least a stern warning from the tooth fairy :)

Don't talk like that, I enjoy your bullshit!
LOUIS, I am sad for Willy, Wife, and YOU!
Depression can be very difficult to overcome. The old "been there, done that" ... when I had my colon cancer surgery back in 2015 and was stuck in the hospital for 18 days, (5 of them in isolation for what they thought was a "super bug") I reached a point where I just didn't care anymore! One day, There were 3 doctors at the foot of the bed secretly talking among themselves. At a six months later check up - the surgeon told me that they did not think I would make it. You guys came close to not having to put up with my BS!
I will certainly say a prayer for your friend.
I agree, we love your bullshit.

So did you ever get to see Floyd at another time? I would have been so bummed! I missed the opportunity to see them in Chicago. It was Momentary Lapse of Reason, so Roger Waters wouldn't have been with them. I'm still kicking myself for not going!
No I did not get another chance. They didn't play the Dallas area again until after I had to stop going to live concerts due to my hearing deterioration. Late 80's sometime. I think that they may have played in Ft Worth once in the late 70's, but I missed it.

There are many great bands from the ages BUT, I doubt any other band can, or will ever, put on a show like Pink Floyd. Not only were they musically brilliant, but they were a tuned to their audience ........ :)
You're probably correct there. But maybe close (after the Allman Bros concert I referenced earlier); I saw Yes on their Close to the Edge tour in the early 70's that was excellent and may have been nearly as good as a Pink Floyd concert. Much different style than The Allman Bros.

Willie is Billy Gibbons a normal guy? Just before the Queen concert they asked Billy Gibbons and another person I really never heard of to pick their 5 top vinyl record albums ever ...Billy Gibbons picked 5 albums by bands I never heard of.
Swal
He seemed normal to me. My personal interaction with him was in the late 60's when I saw ZZ Top and Steve Miller Band play for free at anti-war protests in Lee Park in Dallas TX. Back then, both bands mingled with the crowds before and after their sets. If I were to guess Billy's favorites, I would guess that The 13th Floor Elevators and Jeff Beck would be among them. The Elevators were legendary in Texas around that time.

For me, there are 2 concerts that stand out.

The first concert I ever went to was Yes at the Notre Dame ACC Auditorium, in 1981, I believe. I was in my First Class year at Culver Military Academy, and one of my rich friends bought 6 tickets, and I got to go because my Mother agreed to sign us all out for a weekend leave.

The next amazing concert was The Moody Blues in Pittsburgh, sometime around 1984 or 1985. It was a small venue, and they played a lot of their more obscure stuff.

Well, howdy there internet peeps, and HRM's Canadian representatives

It's Troy again...

Work has begun on my latest book set in a mythical town in Ontario. One of the suspects in this mystery will be a deputy provincial minister everyone loves to hate... so I'm trying to figure out the roles of various provincial government entities.

And the Lt Governor of Ontario is driving me batty.

Looks like she is purely ceremonial, but still has to sign laws passed by the parliament of Ontario in the name of His Majesty.

So, somewhere above dog catcher, and below the actual sovereign, but not much in the way of duties other than passing out medals and awards?

I think I almost understand that. Maybe. As someone trained in US government, having a figurehead representative of the crown is confusing at best. We 'Muricans want duties assigned so we know who to blame!

Hah! That medal fell off the ribbon. Blame the Lt. Gov!

Or something like that... ;)
