A "micro" level sound decoder could fitted in there somehow. Either in the or in the raised part of the toilet? with a mini speaker in the "unko" (I realize the motor goes up into that rear part but... Have to see if I can find this in-store)
for those wondering: unko is one Japanese word for poo. Another is unchi.
I love a challenge.
EDIT: It seems that the Umeda store has this in stock. I may head there on Monday and see if I can buy one. It's price high enough that if I add one container it will get into the tax free zone too...
EDIT^2: even better Amazon JP has it. No need to go to Umeda again. Now to try and convince myself it's worth the price...
OK, I did it on amazon. Delivery tomorrow (yes I have Prime here while my son is living here -- they charge it month to month and it's not as much as the US Prime). I also ordered a poo wagon freight car. May make it easier to add a speaker or something.
Ok. It looked like from your pic that the motor was in the porcelain tower part but maybe I was backward in my perspective.
One reason I got the wagon with the extra poo pieces is that it might be a good place to stick the sound decoder and speaker. I have a stand alone sound decoder from D&H, which allows me to use a motor decoder and separate sound decoder (not all in one). I'm pretty sure I can fit a good micro decoder (Zimo or ESU or maybe D&H PD05A) using narrow gauge wire into the main unit but for sound you need room which the wagon and extra poo provides.
I probably won't get to the actual project for a while. I have a stack of projects waiting for me.
Your first guess is right, the motor is in the head part. The little tab sticking out of the chassis is where the poo slips onto to hold it all together.
Where is the step down occurring? Your track is a nominal 12v track on N scale DC. I have one of those cleaning tracks with rollers (from Germany) that will power your locomotive and let it run but stay in one place for wheel cleaning. I'll have to find it and stick the thing on it and use my meter to take measurements. I need to stick the decoder before any step down has occurred.
Yeah. Most people run 12v or 9v-12v max on their DC systems and use a standard controller. I'd hope they have some protection at least that doesn't allow you to overpower and burn out the motor. So some way to work in a normal X scale system without burning out, and not relying on the user to just barely give it throttle and not jack it up.
For future projects, Tramfabriek offers the Tsugawa chassis' with a 12 v motor. He transplants it with his 612 motor. It's a bit bigger. Maybe a bigger US style toilet?

I guess the WWW isn't really world wide... Not that I would really pay about $40 for a motorized rolling toilet, turd included, but it would be nice to have the option.
I have one of these pocket line controllers. It only goes up to 5 vdc, so it should provide more control over these small locos. I don't use it right now as it does not provide the constant lighting freq that the standard pack provides. I may build a micro layout to run only these things.

That's strange. I've been able to use Yodobashi's website from the US. But here is the rolling toilet on Amazon, where I ordered it today for delivery tomorrow, along with one of the turd freight wagons

It wouldn't let me access it, since I don't have an Amazon.jp account. It's not really worth the effort, since I'd probably run the thing for about 5 minutes, and it would get put on a shelf.

I'll run mine when I need some comic relief, which is probably everyday nowadays! haha Now that I know that these tiny chassis' run good (my first one had side rods and it ran like cr@p), I may be 3d printing other things to run. They are tiny though.
