I had my 2017 pontoon boat serviced before putting it into the water this year since I purchased it in late Sept, 2024.
The SIL had to go along to back the trailer into the water as I rode the boat.
I almost had to check my credit limit on my credit card because a new battery was necessary at the marina. We hooked up the trailer and drove about 3 miles to a public launch.
This was the first time we launched the pontoon. It sets high on the trailer so the car back tires were in the water when the boat started to float. I drove the boat about 3/4 mile to my home dock. The SIL drove the trailer back and parked it on my lot.
We spent about an hour letting the SIL learn to drive a pontoon. He did well once he realized there are no brakes on a boat.

My modeling budget has been curtailed for a while. Guess I will start on assembling some kits from my storage shelf.

Good morning all. A cloudy day with some sunshine.
Flo. A large coffee and blueberry muffin please.

Monday is taking granddaughter to Brownies this evening. Collect her from school first.

Our two granddaughters are standing under the wing near the wheels

Good morning gang!

49° under sunny skies this morning looking for a high today 72°.

Flo my dear, I need coffee, coffee, coffee, and then a little more coffee. Oh, and one of those sausage, egg and cheese breakfast sandwiches would be great! Just don’t smack Mel on the butt with a spatula and tell him that I said for you to do it.

Be well in Japan, when do u head home
It’s Monday night on Hokkaido. Tomorrow evening we fly back to Kobe and my sister in laws house and a week later on June 10 in the evening we fly home. It took two days to get there (left Wednesday morning and got there Thursday evening). But coming home we get to Las Vegas (Osaka to Seoul to Las Vegas to SLC) before we leave Japan (raw clock time) and back to SLC only about 3 1/2 hours after we leave. lol. The fun of crossing the date line.

Driving today was a success. Only once did I turn into the right lane when making a left turn and it was a strange one and the wife yelled at me and I quickly fixed it. They claim I came close to side swiping a truck on a left turn that had a truck parked on the side after the turn, but the outside mirror didn’t hit so I do t think I was that close. And once on a right turn I came a little close to a light post.

No one died. No car was damaged.

Driving on the left and sitting on the right is messed up. 🤪. The pedals are the same (accelerator on the right and brake in the middle) and since it was an automatic having the gear shifter on the left was not a problem. The biggest problem is that the blinker and the wiper were reversed. I turned the wipers on a few times when I want to use the turn signal indicators. We picked the car up and drove for an hour and a half and about 30-35 miles I think and then parked at a public paid lot near the hotel. We met my son and his companion for lunch at a restaurant (we all walked) and then we walked a good ways to this ice cream place. Soft ice cream is a big deal in Japan and especially on Hokkaido. Hokkaido is their dairy region and soft ice as they call it is a specialty. We then walked back to the hotel and my son gave us a few things he wanted us to take home (so he doesn’t have to carry them to his next assignment) and we loaded up the car with a bunch of stuff we brought for him. (Cheetos, bbq potato chips, tortilla chips, salsa, a can of nacho cheese, maple syrup and a box of pancake mix, some Cheetos Mac and cheese boxes, a bunch of brownie mixes (his request. — they teach some English classes and other interest groups and they need to take brownies for some activity — and a pack of Reese’s peanut butter cups. Lol). And we drive him back to their apartment. We did t do the planned shopping as they have no room in their fridge at the moment. After we said good byes we drove to a shrine and a 2nd hand shop and then the wife and daughter were tired and so we took the car back. Walked back to the hotel, hitting some shops in the way.

Now a it evening resting our feet in the hotel.

This is the soft ice cream I had. Mainly to say I did it. It is their 13 layer. It was a little over $10.

And the car we rented. It was some sort of hybrid that could drive in EV mode. I don’t know if it is a plug in. I saw no battery display that was obvious on the dash but it’s say when it was in EV mode.

Good morning all!

Currently a cool 50F, but its going up to 88F. Finally some summer like temperatures. Only going to last a
couple of days before rain moves in and temps cool off again.

My daughter starts basketball practice for the freshman season. They cant call it practice since they are
not supposed to officially start till August. They are calling it open gym. So much for summer break.

Not sure what ekse is going on today. Wife is heading to the office today and tomorrow for training, so
the day is pretty much open for me.

Antone catch the Northern lights? I finally gave up around midnight and didn't see anything. They said
due to the Canadian fire smoke hase, we might not get a glimpse.

Have a safe day everyone!

Morning all,

61° and clear going for a high later of 89°. Storms expected overnight and tomorrow. Possibility of 1-2" of the wet stuff.

Karl is correct. The 2009-2012 had the 5.3 V8 as an available engine option. The 4.8 and 6.0 have the same basic block as the 5.3.

I looked at replacing the 2.9l 4 cylinder with the V8 on the old truck as it could almost be done cheaper than replacing the 4. The wife reminded me that that defeats the purpose of having the fuel sipper anyway (In other words she said no 😆 ). Also something about being too old...I don't know anything about that.

I can't wait till the 2.2 liter 4 banger in the red S10 dies, give me a good excuse to drop in and "old school" 350 in it's place. Its real nice that they still make aftermarket kits for the conversion!
