John I took a bunch of photos for you from the document that came with the kit , the jig I made from styrene , a jig photo a freind sent me, and the actual template on paper along with standard tape measurements and using my scale ruler in HO scale. Basicly once you have the shape of the bent you can then make one bent then use that for a styrene template. I used a sheet of styrene as a base then the strips , I used MEK to weld the sterene strips in place, Basicly place the bent on the styrene sheet and start placeing lengths of styrene dip small craft brush in MEK can and run the mek down the joining surface of the sheet base and the styrene strip.

Lynn , thank you so very much for your effort . I will put this info to good use . Is there anything , with this under your belt now , that you would change or adjust?

No John I was quite happy with the outcome. Basicly once you've made your jig you can make the bents any length you like by simply making a long legged jig and shortening the bents. Obviously you can make a curved or straight trestle.

I just finished roughing in the road bed and it appears it will be about 40 inches long and 20 inches high on a 24 inch radius with a smaller trestle up above , farther up in the canyon. Thanks again Lynn. Now I have to learn how to post pics.

Lol super easy Tony.

Ahh, super easy as in "yeah sure I can do that for you." OR Super easy as in "do it yourself." :D

On a "slightly more serious note" despite my layout being for the modern era, I would like trestle bridges instead of the gaudy modern ones, and you are such an artist! :)

Glad to help John. I would recommend microengineering bridge track for your trestle , comes in 3 foot lengths.posting pics is easy if you have a photo bucket account . You would simply upload the pic to photo bucket and post the img link in here , simple.

Yep That would be a do it yourself, one of those teach a person to fish and he can eat for a lifetime ...

Once you make the jig the rest is easy , trestles have been around a long time, would look great on the new layout.

:D Thanks Lynn and your right with your analogy as well. Just need to find a plan for N Scale bents etc.

Jig bought!

Shingles finally completed. I had a heck of a time building the cast chimney's and will attempt to fill the seams with Squadron green puddy. I used laquer thinner to thin down the puddy although I'm thinking alcohol may do the same with less smell.

The shingles look fantastic Lynn and, at least from the pictures, that green putty looks as though it would work for moss and mold and the such. Great work mate.

Just quickly, I ordered an N Scale Trestle Bent Jig from Black Bear so I can build my trestle bridges. Hope I can get track up high enough to make them look as a trestle should.

Lynn , what kind of glue did you use for trestle assembly ? I was curious if you had trouble with it adhering since the stock was pre finished?

Jim until this train station i'm doing now I have always used weldbond white glue. Not exactley sure what you mean by the stock Jim? If you mean the wood all I did was A/I to it .

Never thought of the putty for moss and mold. I've always been interested in the black creek jig , I think you made a good move there especially for the Tiny Scale.

Yes Lynn , I was referring to the wood . I thought you had used the minwax stain per directions on your sheet and thought that might leave a bit of an oily residue . The alcohol/ink wash probably dried up with zero residue .Thanks.

I have been moving along at a snails pace with this build.

I realized after I still had an additional short chimney that needed to be put together and added ontop the rear chimney, so more work to be done there.
