2026 MLB Regular Season Record - "Kazzy" Kazuma Okamoto's 33 homeruns fell just short of "Moonshot" Munetaka Murakami's 35 homeruns. establishing a new record for homeruns by a Japanese rookie. Smashing the "Robot", Shohei Ohtani's record of 22 homeruns.

To me, this proves that Japanese pitchers, at least in certain areas, are on par with MLB.
