"Kazzy" Kazuma Okamoto's 33 homeruns fell just short of "Moonshot" Munetaka Murakami's 35 homeruns. establishing a new record for homeruns by a Japanese rookie. Smashing the "Robot", Shohei Ohtani's record of 22 homeruns.
This proves, at least to me that Japanese pitchers at least in some parts are on par with MLB.
