Good morning everyone!

Phillip - hope your son recovery is proceeding as hoped

Jeff - You should send a PM to Jerome (a.k.a. wheeler1963), he has a huge fleet of GP50's and just about any other Athearn BB loco you could think of - I'm sure he has one of those DB blisters in his scrapbox.

Nathan - looks like your ready for mrr season, lol!

Tom - glad your getting over that cough, take it easy so it doesn't flare up again

Just another low-key Friday here at the office, I'll be heading straight to a local friend's house this evening for an op session on his Transition-era B&O layout. Hopefully I won't screw up anything too badly.

Have a good'un

Hello all! We are back from the wilds. Again the weather was perfect with low 70's down to the 40's at night. It was great sitting by the campfire next to the water and having a full moon going across the clear sky. There were only six other campers and nobody was closer than about 200 yards of the other.

Some of you talking about biker trips: My SIL and his buddy just returned from a bike trip, from Houston to the UP of Michigan and back. He had a blog going on a website where you could follow his trip by map and his comments and photos. Real interesting and fun to do that. My Daughter wasn't real happy about the trip, but she is already planning on her and a friend to travel to Rome and Athens .
BTW: my daughter is blond and she had to take the car to a mechanic for repair. She thought they would take advantage of her, but she was relieved when all they found wrong was that she needed some turn-signal fluid....:D:D

It took me an hour to catch up on all the posts, but I see that everyone is still kicking about in good spirits.
Philip, I am glad to learn that all went well with your family's surgery.

Jeff, sounds like the foot is finally starting to heal properly.

Chris, you're on a roll my friend. Maybe you can give some of us a little part-time work.

Larry, congrats on getting back to your old job. Sounds like you are very happy.

Ken, remembering the slump you got into a year or so ago, it is grand to see your enthusiasm rejuvenated with the layout. These plans of yours certainly has you going strong and notched at eight :D ;).

Rex - welcome back from your camping trip! As you can see, with Chris being so busy with all his new lawn business and Jim on a Carribbean cruise, nobody had time to organize a party at your place :D Actually on the layout reorganization, I'm more like in Notch 6 - I'm still trying to settle on a new plan that gives me everything the existing one does minus the duckunders, but the general consensus seems to be that I should make this a multi-level if I want to accomplish that.

Now I got a light schedule today but, the wife has going out plans..........So ken I will be back this evening to check on how ur doing with the candy!:D

Good morning. It's 46 and clear. The high will be in the upper 80's and it will be partly cloudy.

The GP42X project is nearly complete. For the moment it has a GP60 dynamic brake hatch on it. I got got word this morning that a GP50 hatch is on the way. This will allow me to change them as I wish. I also got the screwdriver slots on the sides of my two 70's era Atlas GP40's filled in and painted. Now, onto the next project, whatever that may be. Nothing going on today so I should be able to get some rest for a change.

Good morning everyone.

We're in a warming trend right now and it's fantastic! Sixty degrees and WINDY! I can do without the wind, but the warmer temperatures are nice right before winter starts.

We're starting in on sorting through ninety one years of accumulating 'stuff' at my Grandma's house. She's overwhelmed, so my unemployed wife is going in to get started. Gina is a very organized, methodical worker who can run projects quite well. I'm the muscle who, despite mild A.D.D.:D, can get a lot done fast! I tend to get frustrated when things don't go quickly, so my wife is laying the ground work, then I'll come in behind her and start throwing and donating. As usual, the siblings are promising all kinds of assistance, if they can:rolleyes:. I'm sure they will show up when it's time to get the good stuff.

It's amazing what a little tan paint can do for your layout under construction. I know it's just a flat, tan surface, but it's better than blue! It feels like this section isn't moving along as fast as it should. However, I've built thirteen building kits and kit bashes in the last four months. That's not bad with all of the other things going on in the summer. I think I just want the city area to start taking shape. It will in good time.

It sounds like everyone is doing fairly well lately. I hope calm seas continue.

Have a great day!

Just a fly-by to say hello! Got to do my Saturday thing of recliner coaching. Today will tell the tale if Bama belongs with the big guys; the whole season rest on this one with LSU at 2:30 CT.

CUL :)

Not U2 Corey! O.K> I'll send ya a load of candy too.......just check one of your local sidings.

The Great ES&BM RR. will have to ya! U guy's and your Lonelyness issues.

Good morning. It's 60 and cloudy. The high will be in the low 70's with heavy clouds. No rain is expected but with Louisiana you never know. Flood warnings remain in effect for southwest Vernon Parish.

Got some work done on patching some UP units for the L&A. I have another one that needs to be done but it's in the north engine house in Knutsville, so I can't get to it at this time (requires going under the layout, which I can't do yet). I still have an SPSF GP38-2 that needs patching as well as a CSX F7 and a BNSF SD40. Had a stroke of luck yesterday. I noticed that I getting low on 'Roof Brown' so I went to 'Lowe's' to get some mixed. I've made it a habit to look at the 'Oops!' rack first. No telling what may be there. In this case I spotted a 7.2 ounce Valspar sample can of what is an almost perfect 'Roof Brown' marked for 1$. It's a thick flat satin latex which when thinned will be perfect. It came home with me.

Darn Flo, you need to clear the spider webs from in here! Everyone must be having a good weekend, but the lack of caffeine will have them coming in before long ;).

I'm fitting foam core roofs for all of my modular buildings. Smaller buildings get styrene, but I find the foam core is easier to fudge the sides in fittings. Not to mention it's much more rigid. All of the half finished buildings are coming a little closer to completion. No blue foam and a roof over their heads. Life is good in HO scale Mankato! Nothing like a day off to myself!:D

I'm just busy renumbering some patched locos.

And I'm busy playing with my new AC6000CW.
