As a 20+ year former GM tech/advisor/manager I'll tell you what I always did for every car I have ever owned, new or otherwise. This has worked for used as well as new cars, including my Olds Alero, which now has 178,000 plus miles on it.
Drive it like ya stole it :D

Well, maybe not that harsh, but drive it like you will normally drive it. Break-in on engines is a thing of the past. Harder piston rings & cylinder walls made to tighter tolerances are just one of the reasons. Unleaded fuels fetter fuel delivery and a quality oil also help. (Synthetic if at all possible) With 9,000 miles on it, it's well past "break in" anyway, even by old standards. I'd be more concerned with dried out hoses, seals, and suspension bushings than I would with the engine. Remember, the mileage may be low, but it's still a 10 year old car, and age can sometimes be harder on a car than mileage.

Only problems i have with GM vehicals is right at 70K to 80K then water pump Takes a crap or the AC takes a crap. Other than that I've owned almost all GM vehicals (4 of them) with exception of a plymouth NEON since 1992. Water Pumps and AC problems are only problems I have under the hood! I just got my HD2500 Silverado PAID OFF! I got to say next to (Old Whitie) my 1992 S-10 EL I have great luck with GM trucks. I yet to have one leave me on the side of the road! My Silverado has 160,000 and runs like when I bought it and I'm totaly happy with it!:D I think most brands is like very little Engine troubles........Electrical.......now thats another story! My Dad use to have this Buick skylark GT.........That thing had more electrical issues than you shake a stick at!

It's going to rain in SoCal. It's cool watching the news airing "STORM ALERT 2010!!!"
.
I've heard weather alerts called many things, most of which are unprintable here, but never 'cool'. It's nice to come across someone with a positive viewpoint for a change.

Good morning folks

THE SKY IS FALLING! THE SKY IS FALLING!

It was 34 F as I headed out this morning. High today will be 35 F.

Then the world will be ending in a white powder. It is supposed to snow and snow and snow. We are expecting anywhere from 8 to 18 inches depending on which hyped up weather mis-forcaster you listen to. Since this is our usual shopping weekend we decided last night to hit the grocery store for a couple of things we would need to make soup over the weekend while my daughter was at volleyball practice. After witnessing the chaos in the parking the highlight of which was a physical altercation between two women over a parking space and the lines we decided if we were going to deal with the insanity we might as well do all our shopping for the next two weeks.

I should have known something was up because after I took my FIL to the Wilmington VA Hospital for his yearly check-up I had to get milk. I went to a local store that is a drive through. The line was wrapped around the building. I am sitting there watching people get multiple gallons of milk, chocolate milk, iced tea, bags of bread. The panic was unbelievable. I pulled up to the window and the exhausted clerk seemed relieved when I only asked for a gallon of milk and a dozen eggs.

As I stated before I spent the morning with my FIL at the Wilmington VA Hospital to get his annual physical and blood work. It is worth the day to go there so he can get his prescriptions at an affordable rate.

No trains last night. Maybe between clearing the walkways and driveway I will get some in this weekend.

I hope everybody has a good day.

Actually I was being a tad sarcastic. It's ridiculous that the talking heads go to "Storm Alert" every time it rains. 20" of snow, etc. is much more severe.

Karl's statement:"Me? I guess I'll be working on kits, even though somebody now has a twinkle in her eye and is all chatty about getting snowed in with her man...........good greif! "
Karl- this is another opportunity to work on train Stuff! Tell her you will give her and her man some quality time alone while you work on you layout.

Be sure the ambulance can still get to your house when you tell her. I'd hate for you to need medical aid and the snow delay them!:D

That reminds me of that part in the movie, "Norbit!" where Norbit's wife "Rasputia" is cheating on him with the power tap instructor! ROFLMAO! For all you know Mike......Karl and his wife might cool with it, Or the Mail man gets hurt!:D

Good morning. It's 45 and cloudy. The high will be in the low 60's and it will be partly cloudy.

The VCR I picked up yesterday is working just fine, even better than I expected, as it seems to have no problems whatsoever. No remote was included but it took me only a couple of minutes to program my universal remote for it. Nothing special on the schedule today except to go to the pharmacy later to get some prescriptions refilled, six in all.Looking at possibly getting some layout work done today, no matter how minor it is, even if it's just replacing some structure lights.

The prognosticators got it right. We be having rain in sunny SoCal. Makes me want to put on Christmas music.

I'm baking shortbread cookies.

I'm sick of winter. maybe I should pull out allthe Christmas crap again and put it back up. spent the last two days trying to find a good home for another pony in need. she's too cute to go for meat.

looks like she'll be picked up on Monday. one more saved. :D

Went to the pharmacy at 1:45 and turned in the list of what I needed. Three of the items required renewals and I had called them in at 8:00 this morning. In the past this was always enough time for the docs office to fax the required renewal to the pharmacy. Not today. Only one of the items had been renewed in that almost 6 hours that had passed. The pharmacist told me that it now takes anywhere from 24 to 72 hours for such things to be faxed in. That's ridiculous! Doctors raise their rates and lower their quality of service. The two items that hadn't been renewed yet MIGHT be available tomorrow. If not it'll be Monday or Tuesday. Problem is, those two items are the most important ones on the list.

Anybody watch the shower Border Wars ?

Its about the USBP and the jobs they do on the Mexican-American border, got me thinking, Does the USBP have anything like this for the Canadian border? It seems like a cool job and right up my alley for what im interested in, but i belong in the Adirondacks and north country, not the desert :D

I havent heard about any snow for my area, it spat alittle snow earlier, but nothing worth mentioning.

Hope everyone has a nice night

Its looking like the big storm is gonna miss us again thankfully. I could really do with out more snow over the weekend. during the week bring it on close the roads so i dont need to go to work. But leave my weekends free.

Too late Chris!!! There's already a herd of em! Plus grandson's!!!!
Mwuhuhahaaa!!!!!!!!:p!!

As I go Running in Circles Screaming,

Oh NOOoooooooo...AAhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!:eek::eek: We're to late the world as we know it is over!

Hi gang! Hope all are doing well and set for the weekend, rather it be snow or sun. Got some bad car news today. I have to replace 2000 SSEi Pontiac's hubs, tie rods, thingys, more thingys replaced, along with the pulleys for the supercharger drive belt. They have to replace the hubs because they are sealed and you can't get to the bearings. Estimated: $1200:eek:

No, I don't know much about front end drive. How did you know that?:o

Bob: I went ahead and bought the full version of Wise Registry Cleaner and the Disk Cleaner. Wow! What a difference it made in opening software and response time. It removed several thousand junk files of all descriptions along with old orphaned registry files whle optimizing the registry. Very easy to use and I guess everything was done right...all programs function correctly and the computer is like new, but like its owner, lacking in memory:D. Now to receive the new memory and get it installed. Many thanks!:)

More than one Karl:eek:!!! No wonder there is such a snow job going on up yonder.:D
