hmm. i'
m liking that vision of me. I always have a PERFECT manicure. true. even when I worked as a telephone repairman, hammering masonry fasteners into mortar with a hammer and a bash bit. :D

I'll be down to eleven horses on Tuesday. sold a couple more this week. They'll all come with me, along with the dog and all six cats.
and YES, there will be room for a lay-out. There's a large viewing room overlooking the arena, just calling out for one. This new place is better laid out than the one I'm in now, closer to everything including hopefully lots of clients. It comes complete with John Deere Tractor, spreader, harrows, cultivator, snowblower, frontend loader..

lots of fully fenced oak board paddocks, a half mile track...

My idea of heaven.

Who said John Deere?:D:D---me? Likely to have a International---

Good morning:D:D

This morning we woke up to sun. This afternoon our friendly neighbourhood cloud bank will pop up and give us some showers which will develop into just plain ol' rain tomorrow---highs today and tomorrow will be 3C and 10C respectively--:D:eek:

Got the old "hack hack coffs" so I'm a home fellow today. I might do the dang things tomorrow if'n the cold will let me!

I'm going to have some fun with 'Spring' today---see if'n I can do some work on the pink foam portion of the layout without the picking little 'spring' poking at the foam---:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Have a good one----:D:D:D

Gotta love a John Deere, quality tractors,,, quality.

Hello everyone, hope things are moving on fine this year, we have moved on from snow to fog, lots of fog. i may be tempted to venture into the garage for an hour if the heater can warm it up enough

Later folks

I'm okay with a Deere.

if I had a huge bank account, of course, it'ld be a Kubota. over priced, trendy/shmendy and caters to the "horsey set".

they do run well, though, and are easy to use.

Good morning. It's 60 and cloudy. The high will be 70 and there's talk of a 50% chance of rain today.

The Home Health nurse will be coming around later this morning to change my wound vacuum dressing. Other than that I really have nothing else planned other than my usual day to day activities (yes, there are things I don't tell you about) and maybe a bit of layout work if I get the chance.

When I bought my Kubota 18 months ago it was $2,000 Cheaper than Deere or New Holland for the equivalent equipment. Mine is a Kubota BX1850, 54" deck and a 54" snow blade. Also picked up a used 3 point hitch tiller for another $500. It does all I need and then some. I really came in handy last summer when I put a new concrete sidewalk in front of the house and along the drive. Till it up good and then get the 3 point grader blade and dig it out. Saved my back and arms for more important work like teasing my grandson.

Jeff My uncle had one of those Vacum dressings on after they took his calf off which had cancer in it, he had it on for three painful months but cancer took hold again so they cut his leg off at the knee. He had the vacum dressing done in another county but the county were he lived would not pay for a nurse to look after it, the result was he had to stay in a hospital 40 miles from home for an extra 4 weeks until they finnished arguing over the cost. Things did get better for him till christmas when he found the same lumps again in the other leg, shoulder, arm and lung, so thats more or less it for him poor guy.

Good Afternoon All,

Well the rentless rain has let up for a bit and it's a beautiful Sunny Day. I totaled the 5 day rain fall and it came to 6.28". Well we needed the water and the Snow fall that the foul weather brings as we are way behind on the average we should have which is about 32" a year so maybe we'll be catching up now??

Hope everyone has a good day.

International what,,,,,,,incident? :p

I've got 2 Deere's and 1 International, long story short, Thank goodness they went out of business! I've spent many times more $$$$$ on the 1 International than on both the Deeres. Now all the Cub Cadets are all made by MTD, KING of the crappy mowers!

The Kubota's are ok, but the nearest dealer to me is an hours drive away, kinda inconvenient for parts & service. My neighbor has one, and everytime he needs parts I can hear the grumble from my place! There are 4 Deere dealers, anywhere from 10 minutes to 50 minutes away from me, and 2 more just over an hour!!

Oh, and the one I work at is just 35 minutes away!:p:D

I wouldn't hit a dog in the A$$ with a Cub Cadet even the commercial ones are crap! Cub Cadet=Complete Crap!;) Deeres are good but when they break it's never a cheap fix! same goes for Kabota too never a cheap fix.... When it comes to tractors I like Massy, good work horse!

well i havent been here in alittle while, but to add fuel to the fire, im a deere man,

ive got a track meet this morning, bus leaves at 11 and im trying to decide if i should eat breakfast or not, most likely itll be a no because i dont want to get sick after running my events. the meet is in invitational so ive really gotta go all out.

have a nice one

Cub Cadets are bad but they were worse before MTD when AYP(American Yard Products) made 'em.

And FYI, Deere components are made by MTD or MTD subsidiaries. The big differences being that JD has it's own proprietary specs. One can't go out and buy a Kohler engine as a replacement. The bolt patterns are different. And JD has closer tolerances for manufacturing.

As far as tractors, I own a 1950 Ford N. The only thing I've replace are the tires and belts. I upgraded it to 12v when I first got it. I completely restored and repainted it(things were slow at the SkunkWerks then. Made a few upgrades, like the electrical system. Works better than new. I haven't changed plugs or points in nearly...... 10 years. Oil gets changed twice a year.

I put some "fattie" tires on it. It looks bit odd, but has never gotten stuck. I have cultivators, a 3-bottom plow, an 12-foot disc, harrow, brush mower, side bar mower, a blade, and a small front loader bucket. I got it from my grandfather just before he died in 1980.

When I was helping granddad with farming, back in my high school days and just before he got sick, My favorite old tractor was a Minneapolis-Moline. He also had a Steiger that was a terrain altering machine!!!! His articulated Ford was a piece of .......... well, you know.

For my mower I have a Dixon. Not many mowers, if any, better than that one. Bought it at auction for $3200 and it was less than a year old. all hydraulic, nice unit. I also have a 1968 Wheel Horse. The better half uses it when she's preparing flower beds, It's got a PTO-driven tiller, a 2-bottom plow, cultivator and a wagon. Perfect for her. I just repainted it about 3 years ago. Replaced the seat and steering wheel. I had the wheels chromed just for grins. It really doesn't see much time outside other than in the spring and flower planting time. I normally use teh Ford to break the ground for her flower beds.

The old dixons are good not my favorite brand though.....but I believe each brand of mower/tractor has a good model and a few bad models. My favorite Mower would have to be the Toro 325-D rough mower.I worked with those on the golf coarse and in the parks and were my favorite to mow with. Very sturdy Machine and well balanced.
I got to say my Husqvarna 2348 tractor and 3016 ZTR are quickly becoming my favorites.

We had a old ford tractor in the county, very reliable tractor, it was used and abused and put up wet everyday and always came back for more! I would have to say the JD tractors spent more time in the shop than out on the fields. The JD's didn't like to be abused as much as the Ford's and Kubotas. As longs as your wern't to rough with the JD's they were fine.

Morning Gang! :D
Another day of misty cold rain, punctuated with the occasional downpour! Ugh!
Not too condusive to house hunting, packing up stuff ,or refinishing work on my electric guitar. THe kid is here this weekend, so playing with SWMBO is out. So I guess I gotta play with the trains! ;)
I do have some detail parts to add to a GP38-AC before it goes to paint. maybe I'll do that.....

It's 57 and partly cloudy here in the sportsman's paradise. The high will be near 70 and it will be partly cloudy.

For most of the afternoon yesterday we were expecting a storm front to come through at any time. Well, the weather guesser was wrong again and missed the timing by several hours. I shut down my computer at 8 pm and the storm hit at 8:04 pm and did some wild tricks with the power for about ten minutes. The power never went off completely but the lights were flickering like crazy. Then the storm front hit here with winds that hadn't been predicted. No damage here that I can see with the exception of some branches blown down and a ton of pine needles added to what was already there. It was mostly wind, not much rain to speak of. Nothing planned for today other than my usual day to day activities.
