Chris what saw's you running. I'm going to be rebuilding an echo for work tomorrow, for personal stuff my dad and I run a mix of Husqvarna small-medium saws and our big 36in bar capable saw is a Stihl.

Echo 430.....it's big enough to get the job done but light enough not to wear ya out! I'm an Echo man!;)

Had to go to my parent's place just before noon today to wait on the AT&T guy to come out and service the phone box out back of the house. They could call out but nobody could call in. They'd just get two busy tones and a bunch of static. The repairman showed up at 2:45 and was there til almost 4. So much for my plans for the day. My parent's arrived home shortly after and I explained the repair work to them. The problem seems to have been a block that's wired in on the phone company's side. It has a modular jack that the house block line plugs into. The thing was so corroded that it would short out when a call came in. We watched a couple of Mythbusters shows then headed into town for dinner. My favorite place, El Giro's.

Good morning folks

It was 32 as I headed out this morning. I had to battle with some frost on the windshield. When I got to work the temperature had dropped to 28 F and I was hitting icy patches on the road. I heard on the radio that there was a lot of black ice and accidents as a result. Apparently in some areas they have freezing fog. High is supposed to be 49 F.

This weekend we had a basketball game for my daughter. We missed my son’s because we did not find out about until it was too late to go. We spent some of the long weekend taking down Christmas decorations. I finally got the outside done since the weather cooperated and I got could finally get the decorations out of the frozen ground. We still have some inside ones to do. It takes us about two weeks to decorate and twice as long to take down. I guess we don’t want Christmas to go.

We attended an Eagle Scout Court of Honor for one the scouts in my son’s troop. This was the second of three the troop has planned for the boys who earned Eagle last year. Last night at his troop meeting he finally got his swimming achievements from summer camp signed off. He is now two achievements, a Scoutmaster conference, and a Board of Review from his Second Class rank.

My son and ran some trains over the long weekend. He is still trying to show me how the DCC EZ Command system works.

Tonight is my son’s guitar lesson and my daughter has volleyball practice.

I hope everybody has a good day.

Good morning. It's 53 and cloudy. The high will be in the mid 60's and it will be partly partly. There's talk of thunderstorms coming in tonight.

I didn't get much of a chance to get anything done on the layout yesterday due to life getting in the way. Today is going to be pretty much the same way. I have two doctors appointments today, the first at 8:30 for a general physical and the second at 11:30 for physical therapy. Fun, fun. I do have most of the junk cleared off the layout at this point. When I get back to the point that I can get under the layout I'll be able to get to the access holes and wipe down the tracks at the back and east and west sides of the layout. It wouldn't be much of a problem if I had a 7 foot reach but unfortunately I don't. Just reaching across the extension (3.5 feet) can be somewhat of a stretch. It'll be nice to be able to get back to some scenery work.

HELLLLOOOOOO!!!! IS THERE ANYONE HERE!?!?
Sheeesh!! This place is so quiet

Oh---hi Tom

Kinda quiet in here again----well we be seeing some freezing drizzle this morning with fog.

Gonna go into the basement and stare at the Exceda Wye yard----need to change a yard track or two or three-----

Have a good one--

Good morning everyone.

Boy, this place is certainly feast or famine with traffic huh?

We have had freezing fog the last few days. It certainly makes driving interesting when idiots don't turn their headlights on. " Oh I can see, why do I need my lights on?"

I have today off with the intention of making great strides on my layout. Of course, that means I'll get a few things done but not great strides. The days I make great strides are the ones that I plan to do a little!:D

I'm trying to decided what to do for the dirt around the freight/yard area. If the real dirt outside wasn't covered by three feet of snow I'd consider using that. Without that option, I need to research how to make dirt.

We have 185 tuxedos to be checked in tomorrow, distributed this Thurs, and returned on Monday. With such a busy week I'm doing whatever the heck I want today.:)

Have a great day everyone.

Good Morning All!

I think it's cool, foggy, and dreary out, but I don't know for sure. I've been sitting in the hospital since 6am. Yup, you guessed it! Todays the big day! Surgery day! (It's like deja vu, ja vu, ja vu, ja vu.......) This time, it's the gastric bypass. The wife is nervous, but she wanted to go through with it, so they're doing it right now. Should be done in a little over an hour from now. This should make a huge difference in her life.

So, here I sit, in another waiting room. I'm like a veteran of these places! At least the place is comfortable, and they have public access computers. I hear the cafe isn't bad either. I'll have to check that out later.

Oh well, I'm gonna shove off for now.

I'll catch up with you all later!

Good Morning All!
