Good evening everyone.

Things continue to stay interesting with the flooding around here. An unexpected casualty may be the trestle I'm modeling. The flood waters are doing there best to destroy this piece of history. One of the stone piers is starting to disintegrate.

Though the river floods every spring, it doesn't do the damage like this flood.

Here's a picture of this area last November

I will be extremely sad if this is it for the old trestle. I sure hope the county will repair it if it doesn't come tumbling down.

Corey
I hate to say it, but if its not part of a viable active route, or hasn't been given over as a rails to trails thing, the county may very well tear the trestle down.:( At the rate it's failing now, it's only a matter of time before the whole thing falls. With the trestle also spanning a roadway, safety is going to trump history, so I doubt they will fix it.

The only real hope here is to find some little critter that needs the trestle to survive. We recently had a local towns bypass route held up a few years and eventually rerouted because they found some little bog turtle that only lives in one region in the path of the road. Quick! Train a few critters to cross the river on the trestle, that oughta get the tree huggers to save your bridge!!

Good morning eveyone.

Karl, that's the only reason they are planning to fix it if they can. It's part of a very popular bike trail called the Red Jacket trail. This trestle is know as the red Jacket Trestle. I just hope the water recedes fast enough before it's too late.

I had a great day off yesterday. I spent most of the day messing around in the garage doing before winter cleaning. I got the snow blower started just to make sure it's running good. What a depressing thought, snow!

Progress on the layout is slow and steady. The ballast is almost done and the trees are moving along at the usual pace. I hope to get a little work in tonight after work, we'll see.

I hope everyone has a good day.

What is this "snow" of which you speak?

It's raining cats and dogs here. I stepped in a poodle when I got out of my truck.

I have a bad migraine, I came home early from work because of it, and am going to lay down somewhere dark and quiet until it eases off.

Me to I got a migraine and my back hurts, Tequla to the rescue!

Tequila would help the back, but it would only make the head hurt worse. At least mine. Then again, if I drank enough of it, I might not care if my head hurt--at least until morning.
If I keep having them more frequently, I am going to have to see a doctor about them. I'm starting to miss work because of them.

:)Glad to see so many here today.
I had my small Op session and the woes that always happen with guests. Yup, the layout was checked out thoroughly yesterday, but Mayhem showed his ugly mug and messed up smooth running with a couple of glitches. I managed to clear them up and the session went on with a lot of fun.

Our cooler weather has sure enough put the MR bug back into me. For some reason, all summer has been a drag with me almost having to force myself to do any layout work. Now, I feel great and even excited about digging in and getting things done.

Once again T-town will be packed with fans for this weekend's football game, from both Bama and Florida. They are expecting 200,000 to pour-in, both for the stadium and tailgating. I heard on the news that the local supermarkets are even stocking up on gator tail for the Bama tailgating crowd. Should be a fun weekend for all. For me? I will be running the plays from my recliner;):D.
ROLL TIDE!

Hope all are doing well...oh....and Chris... Weekend Sounds GREAT!!!;):)

I heard that migraine can be caused by heart problem, i would seek a doctor ASAP.
This has been going on for several decades with me. Nothing definitive as far as cause, though they seem to run in cycles. It might be a month or two before I have another one. Or I could have another one today. Both my parents and my brother suffer(ed) from them, so it may be something hereditary in my case.

Anyway, good morning. It's pouring rain and windy here, current temp is 65, heading all the way up to 77, and supposed to get down to the high 40's tonight. We've had several inches of rain, which we really needed, as long as we don't all get washed away.

My latest problem is my local cable company credited my payment to somebody else, they don't know who, and could I please pay them again for my own bill? Uhh, I don't think so, Tim... There was a very short, very one-sided response from me. They are going to keep trying to find my payment, and I am not going to pay them again for this. I guess as far as problems go, it's fairly minor, but it's irritating when I'm paying more for cable than I have any time in my life, even CA, and they can't take care of me the way any customer should be treated.

Terry, have you ruled out PMS yet? I'm just saying, ya never know! They are running in Cycles.....Just piece's to the puzzle! LOL's
