Good morning folks. I just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving. I won't be near a computer tomorrow, so I figured I'd say it now.

I just completed a Christmas list for my mother. I managed to squeeze in quite a few items for $100. Three Model Power houses, one Walthers church, three Jordan Products cars, and two boxes of atlas telephone poles. Not bad for a days shopping. I had to try to get as many projects funded as possible. My wife doesn't care if I spend thirty dollars in a week on fast food. If I spend twenty a week on trains and ten on cold cuts, that's a no no. My mother, God bless her soul, sees the benefit of having a distraction. Therefore, she helps with the hobby budget. Not that my wife doesn't approve of trains, she just doesn't see the point of it.

Anyway, Happy Thanksgiving! I hope everyone has a good day.

Mornin Everyone! Gonna be a very busy day today..... Thanksgiving at my house has been postponed until Saturday. I'll get the feast with all the trimmings at Gram's house (my daughter-in-law's grandmother) tomorrow. But, I still have some massive cleaning and other stuff to do. So, I'll see you all later!

Tom, my niece and nephew will be in the Philadelphia parade with the Prattville Band. It's a huge band for a high school, 125 members, but we like big bands and big football teams down here. They have been touring New York and Philadelphia and let's just say it's been an eye-opener for a couple of small town Alabama kids. :)

That is cool!

Locally Channel 6 broadcasts the parade. Here is a link to their website about the parade. http://abclocal.go.com/wpvi/story?section=holidays&id=5735502 I am not sure but they may offer video streaming of the parade.

Morning guys.

Fun drive in today - fair bit of snow down overnight and this morning with more coming. 24F/-4C with wind chill of 12F/-11C. Guess the arrival of winter was inevitable!

I love that quote:
"- It was -15 out today!"
"- Celsius or Fahrenheit?"
"- First one, then the other."
:)

Good morning coffee clubbers,

Happy Thanxgiving to all!

Mark, looks like you guys up North might get a "white Christmas" this year! My kids have been wanting that for many years and it almost never happens in Maryland, our first snow usually arrives in mid- to late January.

Ken, tell the kids that it's highly overrated. :)

I am quite simply NOT a winter guy. It is this time of the year that living in a grass hut in Mexico is lookin' pretty good. The only good thing about winter is you get to own another large gas powered tool - a snow blower! *timallengruntgruntgrunt*

LMAO!:D I keep telling them, their attitude about snow will change abruptly the first time they're forced to drive thru 18" of it to get home from work.

...Then the attitude will get worse when they have to shovel said 18" off the driveway when they get home. :D

On the bright side - no yard work!

Mark

Good Morning ALL !! Happy Thanksgiving Day !!!! Yes a bit of snow is coming down here in Buffalo and there is a Winter Snow Advisary, But who cares still gonna drive to my Sister's House for dinner. just a bit slower and more careful . That's when the winter driving skills kick back in. Well gotta go get ready .Hope everyone has a wonderfful day. And yes it is odd not to see Jeffrey posting ! Hope all is well with him !!! P.S. 18" of snow is why man invented a snow blower !!

Good morning folks

It is 66 F and I hear the lawn mowers going in the neighborhood! We had to cut our grass yesterday. Can you believe still mowing the lawn at Thanksgiving in the Philadelphia area? High today will be around 70 F.

The turkey is in the oven and we have some down time until we have to start with the rest of the vittles. We may go catch a movie. This has become our family tradition, while the bird is cooking. I think we may see Beowulf.

No modeling last night.

I hope everybody has a good day and a Happy Thanksgiving.

Howdy everybody and Happy Turkey Day to everyone in the lower 48! (And those other 2 states as well!!!) Just popin' in for a quick glance to see what's going on. Taking a break from cleaning. I have to entertain more often. I have 6 people coming over for a late Thanksgiving celebration on Saturday. With the little one my Son and his wife have to choose which house to be at for Thanksgiving and I decided to make it a bit easier on them by offering to have it on Saturday. Besides, now I get to go to "Gram's" house with my Daughter-in-law's family for a feast today as well.

Got a lot of junk cleaned up on the railroad last night. Hope to able to run some trains on Saturday as well.

Gray and chilly here in the Finger Lakes this morning, but no (you know that 4 letter word) yet. I guess I got pure Yankee blood as I still kinda like snow (until February that is).

Be blessed!

Happy Thanksgiving all!
Tom, 66 degrees there and 46 here in Bama country:eek: .

The wife had to work until 3pm so our dinner with 10 guests will be a bit late...but just as good;) :) .

Gotta run and finish straightening or I will be in deep doo-doo.
Ya'll have a good'un.

I watched the parade in Phily. The Prattville HS band looked good. Everyone was standing around in shirtsleeves while it's more than bit chilly here. Let's see, it's 72 officially at 2:00 pm EST in Philly and 50 degrees with a wind chill of 45 here. Think it's global warming...or cooling? :) No one here but me likes turkey so we are having chicken along with the usual Southern oddities you eat at holidays, like black-eyed peas and butter beans. (YUCK!) I'm sure the pecan pie will make up for it though. ;)

I've been decorating courthouse square with ornaments in the trees and lights strung across Main Street. Mayor Pug will make his usual Christmas speech before the tree ighting so I'll have to make sure the press is there to get pictures. :D

Jim

It is 46 F now on its way to 35 F here in the Philadelphia area. We went to see Beowulf at 1:40 PM and it was 69 F. We came out of the movie and the wind and rain started. When we left the parking lot it was 67 F. By the time we went about 5 miles it was down to 60 F in about 15 minutes. The temperature has fallen about 30 degrees in a little over 6 hours.

RT, he hasn't been there either, nor has his friend from up the street, David. BTW, you are still a member.
