That place not sold yet huh?? I think you showed me that awhile ago.

Man the ground is hard here!!!! Just digging some post holes for a fence and gate to keep the dog in, boy my hands are sore.

We haven't used the kitchen yet!! Jan's got the flu and we're both pretty knacked so its been take-out and friends for tea. Might have to fire up the gas hob tomorrow.

Nite all, Ken.

Good Morning Bill. Steve & Ken. Looks like another nice day here. Still looking for some much needed rain. Any time now they say.My daughter and her boyfriend left Colorado yesterday. Their moving back to Buffalo . Praying for a save trip. Not much else happening here so will get going . Have a great Saturday all!

I'm taking my neighbor's son to the hobby shop in Alexandria today so he can pick up something for his layout. It's his 14th birthday today and he's anxious to see what we (the neighborhood) chipped in for. It's already picked out for him and paid for but he has no idea what it is. The poor kid's going to be chewing on the upholstery all the way there, it's a 60 mile trip, one way.

Fried Rabbit? Hi Steve! Sounds like a project that I would enjoy..... watching.

Finally got out to camp this morning to retrieve my equipment trailer. I left it there when I was having brake problems on the truck a week ago. Had a quick lunch and took my truck over to a Cub Scout Pack car wash to help them earn some $$$ and help Paul get that rain he seems to want. Actually the top couple of inches of soil are pretty dry right now in the Finger Lakes. I need to get my Garden rototilled this afternoon, so I will see you all later.

No fried rabbit, fish fingers and waffles tonight, quick and easy.
just noticed there are three steam fan trips through next saturday, two we can watch go by no problem but the third one is a 30 min dash south,,, but what the heck it's also running Sunday as well from Liverpool to Earlestown three times, may as well Git on it, what Ya'll say

we've got the first of the season tomorrow, www.mainlinesteam.co.nz (well it's in the newspaper but not on the website!!)

it's around 2kms to the mainline from here, I might pop down and see her or keep my ears open!!

Not much going on here. We had thunder storms here again last night, another 1+ inch of rain.
I'll see you all later.

Ken M you know what i'd miss about the UK, all the steam train's we get past here,,, but looking at the Mainline steam website, i would be very happy over there,,, and they got a South african garrett locomotive, amazing

Well Paul I have a hunny do list as long as my left arm:D I have some thoughts about what I'd like to do in here (computer in my train room too;) )

Man the digging is hard out here lots of rocks and stones, I built a short fence and gates to keep the dog around the back, boy my back is sore today. A nice hot soak in the bath did the trick, now for some horizontal, Night!!

Yeah we have a few, just not the population who wants a steam train ride:mad:

Ken.

Good Morning Everyone!:) I've been spending the weekend doing routine locomotive maintenance. This is something that many of us overlook, but it certainly has an auto-reminder with erratic operations. I am cleaning wheels, lubricating, and tweaking the decoder settings. The Tsunami's advanced settings for steam are certainly the most challenging, but once you get them zeroed in, they are smooth and sweet.

TexasPaul: We finally got some rain; a whopping 0.33 inch. Now we are only -18.0 inches for the year. I believe this is the first rain in two months. The crops are really suffering and prices are soaring for produce.

NZKen: I'm very happy for you and your family with your new home. Hope Jan gets over the Flu soon and you guys can continue with the fun part of settling in. BTW: KenL is going to pick me up on the way to your house for the house warming. Car pooling saves energy!:D :D

Steve: I've never heard of concrete fence panels. Seems like a good idea; they must last forever. Jeez, how much do they weigh per piece? Do you fasten them with bolts?

Good Morning ALl ! Steve concrete fence I heard of privacy but that is taking it to the extreme . Jeffrey hope your son has a grand birthday . My wife and I celebrated our 34th year of marriage with a quiet dinner at the Roadhouse Rest. It was a nice time remembering our wedding day that long ago. Daughter called last night and said they stopped in Iowa for the night. Thank God they made it that far safe with a car sick cat!!! Well gonna go enjoy the day . You all have a great day also !

Evening all,
Concrete panel fencing not very pretty but is everywhere here, it's cheap and easy to put up (if your built like a gorilla) you have "H" & "L" section pre stressed concrete posts from 4ft long to 9ft long depending on how high you want a fence, the panels are again cast concrete 6' X 1' and 2" thick, they drop in the slot's in the posts and are stone patterened on one side and smooth on the other. As you would expect they are Damn heavy, and lifting them up six feet to lower them in is very hard and dangerous work. You can get wooden panels made up in 1ft increments from 1ft to 6ft if you don't want concrete, but the down side is they don't last much more than 12 years

This is the textured side, the unwritten rule is if you pay for them this is your side, not the next door's

As next door payed for these i get the crap side,,, but within a couple of years climbing plants will cover it, my side is 4ft high, next door is 6ft

They look good, Steve. My hat is off to you, lifting all of them. It took me several months to get the courage to replace my wood board privacy fence.:o :D
