So, Steve, did I miss something with all the recent British trains?

I guess you did, i'm going to build a British theme layout soon, the quallity of models in Britain has got a lot better in the last two years or so, company's like Bachmann have built some excelent quallity models far superior to any of the older models available only five or so years ago, they are offering some with Loksound as standard which is very desirable, so with that were having a change, should be fun.

Morning all!

Rex, check your mailbox - there's a few 'toys' in it for you ;)

Thanks for the templates Ken and the help. I have them in the drawing and I believe it will really help me to see what I can do.

Happy Tuesday everyone! We are having another great weather day at 75 and climbing. It suppose to be like this all week with temps in the low 80's daytime and mid 50's at night. It's going to make some real nice camping. I decided not to take the boat this time as I would have to make an extra trip to get it down there (just bank fishing will have to do). I have priced a hitch for my Pontiac Bonneville SSEi and believe installing one will be the way to go. This way the wifey can pull the boat and me the camper. The boat/trailer is only around 1400 lbs. so it shouldn't overload anything. If you know better, please let me know.

Have a great day and ya'll come, you hear.:)

Rex Looking in the owners manual might be wise. I know oneo f my older front wheel drive Oldsmobiles recommended not using overdrive when pulling a trailer. I do not know about these newer models.

Thanks Larry for the heads up. I will check the manual and see. The car is at my mechanics right now having to repair the danged window motor...possible cost $350.00 plus labor:eek:. This is the second one to go bad and I'll bet this window hasn't been used a dozen times. The mechanic said this is common with all of them and that it is better to periodically move them up and down. Seems something gets stuck if not used. Might as well see what he says about a hitch while we are at it.

Anyone have a money tree that I can plant this spring? I need one that produces lots of fruit.:D :D

Good morning ! from Indiana.:D

Morning everyone a cool morning here, it's been looking like rain all of yesterday and today but nothing yet. Oh well maybe if I go wash my car that will help :)

Morning Gents,

Money Tree? I'm planting one this week. Let you know how it works out.

My daughter missed the bus so I had to get up early. Got the final touches done on my layout plan. I posted it, so you're welcome to comment on it.

Hi all!

Flo, I'll have a chicken salad sandwich on lo-carb bread, with an iced tea...

Chip, I posted some comments on your track plan thread.

Rex - I just had to pluck some fruit off my own money tree (the one that has 16 digits on it), placed an order with Tonys Train Exchange for a new DT-400R and a UR-91 (radio base unit). Maybe if I mix the receipt in with a slew of other 'legitimate' ones, the CFO won't notice...:o

Hi all!
Nick: I hope to see some pictures when I get back from my camping Sunday.;)

Jos: Better make the tree in "B" (big) scale; HO only makes change.:D :D

KenL: Nice going fellow. I have wanted to convert my (2) DT400's to radio, but haven't taken the time. I need to do it soon because the first time I looked I could have it done for $35...now I think its around $50.

Chip: Going over now and check out your plan.

:) Have a good day fellows!:)

Mornin' all (afternoon maybe!).

Ain't much going on. Got a new 5amp power supply for the layout this mornin'. Was passin' by the LHS and it wuz jesta callin' me. We had to put the wife's car in shop this am. Has a leaky bottom gasket. Only gonna be about $110 total. We can live with that.

Afternoon all

Well i got the letter from hell today from the local police, i gotta go to court charged with driving with no insurance, BUT it was an insurance company cock up, not my fault, back in November i got pulled over by the policeman from hell with an attitude as high as the empire state building, turns out my vehicle registration number on the national database was wrong, they had a letter "U" where there should have been a "V", the insurance company held up there hands and admitted a clerical blunder, and now i get a b----y summons for it, charming or what, i am getting serious legal assistance for this one, it could cost me upto £1000 in fines and 8 points on my licance (12 you get a ban) I AM M_A_D,,, rant rant:mad:

Damn i am glad that's off my chest :D ;) :D

Steve, I would be *&%@" also! Better watch out or MI5 will be at your door next. :D

Afternoon All ! Spent the last night at our local Indian Casino Hotel. It was a complimentary room , sure was nice. they know how to take care of people. Rex know what you mean about repairs .Last year I had a stone thrown up into my air conditioner condenser. they had to replace the whole darn thing . It cost me close to $400.00 to get my air conditioner working again .Ouch. Well gonna get going have a grand day all !

Another reason to move to NZ, you don't need insurance to own a car, hell half the population don't register, warrant (physical condition), have insurance or a licence!! The police are to busy to bother with drivers.

Ken.

Ken, that actually worries me a lot! California just passed a law requiring the insurance companies to report cancellations of policies. This way if there's an accident you don't have to be worried about it. Though, in my mind, I prefer Michigan's "No Fault" insurance, so no matter who caused the accident, or if someone was driving w/o insurance, your insurance covers you & your car and nothing more.
