Hi gang,
I'm halfway out the door to go to the InLaw's for supper so this has to be a quick post.
Sorry about my DCC rant last nite, I just don't handle whiplash very well.

Everything had been going smoothly until I started trying to figure out the button sequences for that DT100 piece of s**t...and the Digitrax manual was totally worthless. I'd made a special trip downtown [to MB Klein's] to get a 'proper' power supply to handle the demands of sound-equipped, multi-train operation, and acquired/installed fresh batteries where needed - only to hit that brick wall. I finally went over to the Yahoo digitrax list and explained my situation there, and sure enough a few guys replied and explained the button sequences in English. But I honestly believe I'll need to invest in a DT400 if I want to actually enjoy the process of programming decoders and running trains.
Oooops, Vicky's grabbing me by the other arm...gotta run...C-yaz!
Ken, yes the DT400 is a much better throttle for programing. I have two. One tethered and the other a radio. By all means get a DT400, save the DT100 for when you have a friend over as they are great for just running trains. Learning the DCC system may take a little while but one you get the hang of it, you will never want to run in DC again!
Hey folks, in one week the show will be over and my life will be back to the old routine for a while. Today we spent the afternoon doing a tech for mic placement. CATS is a strange show for getting the body packs on their costumes and where to put the actual mics to get the best sound. Well tonight I may go down stairs and try to build something.....
Whoa Ken! I didn't know you were working with a DT100. By all means, get a DT400 when you can.
DITTO!
I have a DT400, but have tried to use Carey's old DT100...YIKES!
FYI: Don't be intimidated by all the buttons on a 400. For starting out, you won't use many of them. Pretty much a "...follow along with the bouncing ball" thing with the manual.
Good morning ! from Indiana.

Morning everyone, well it's another Monday. I did get my benchwork set into place this weekend that was about it, I plan on getting some bolts and nuts to hold the modules together and then I can start on laying my track.
Dang Nick. Make me feel sort of inadequate for not getting my benchwork even orgainized--seeings how I designed mine first and all.
Well I had help as well Chip

I did a little trading with a buddy who is an awesome carpenter that's the secret to my success.
Morning Gents,
I spent the better part of this weekend working on a station to replace Train City Station. I think it's going to turn out okay. I've deviated quite a bit from the instructions on this Muir Model. This should have been straight forward and simple, but they had a some fancy ideas and each side of the building was six pieces instead of one. To get it to stay together I reinforced the walls with a sheet of styrene. If it doesn't work out, I think I'll rebuild the walls using styrene board and baton.
Sometimes I wonder what these model makers are thinking.

That doesn't make me feel any better. I was in construction for 15 years. I am a pretty good carpenter myself.
I would have taken pictures but my wife went on vacation to see her sister and she took the camera. Maybe I'll have some track laid by the time she gets back with the camera.
Mornin' Bill!
Mornin' NickB!
Mornin' Chip!
Going to get all the way up to 34°F today in the Finger Lakes with lots of party and variable going on. Cloud cover and snow/rain/drizzle/mixed precipitation are moving in as I write, so I guess I better get the shopping done I have to do and then come home and work on a document for my Uncle.
See you all later!
Afternoon All ! Got a little bit of snow coming down nothing like this past weekend. Today I went to the Diabetes Doctor. I swear evrtime I go see a doctor I come out with 5 new perscriptions and a week to live . Seriously though my doctor put me on three new medications and a new Testing meter . Well I guess it's great that we have modern technology . I would have been dead twenty years agao. Well all have a nice day !!!

Morning Bill, looks like you and me are first ones in here today. Nothing new going on trainwise with me yet, I have plans to pick up some flex track this weekend. Hope everyone has a great day.
Mornin' Bill!
Mornin' Nick!
Morning gents.
My station is taking a lot longer than I expected. If I would have thrown out the wooden parts and scratched it from styrene from the plans it would have been done by now and not look a bit different. I'll remember that for the future.
Morning all!
Rex, check your mailbox - there's a few 'toys' in it for you
Chip - I learned that same lesson on an old wooden craftsman kit I was working on for Jim Brewer's layout. Spent huge amounts of time on it. Then he went and got Evergreen clapboard siding and Tichy doors/windows, and made a styrene version so he could have it up in time for a planned op session.
Steve - the pricetag of additional components I need keeps going up-up-UP!

Now I have to get a radio base unit also.
Afternoon ALl ! all coffeed out but looking forward to lunch. Have a wonderful day everyone! Steve looking forward to spring tonight . And no more snow !!
